FAST Introductory Classes Help

Ive gotten admission in fast cs but have no idea what do they teach in the beginning ...so can any fastian help me out?can u guys guide me and also tell wether i should go iba to do cs? coz ive heard some bad things about FAST KARACHI.

FAST is the best for CS, period.

Forget IBA, FAST is where the shizz is at as far as CS is concerned (we'll be waiting :devil: ). Kidding aside, you should have a good command on intermediate level calculus (trust me you'll thank me later), the rest is low level stuff in the first semester (C language to give you basic of programming, Basic Electronics, English, Islamiat).

Look out for their courses per semester wise. Go for FAST if you have got into it. But believe me those teachers resigned who build your base.

I've just graduated from FAST ( 2011 Batch ) . FAST has its advantages but wherever you go it's all about how serious you are about it . I came to FAST with a dream and target where I wanted to be after 4 years and in the end achieved that target .

I wanted to go in the GameDevelopment and FAST was the best option for me ( they don't teach you GameDev anyway ) . Many people even my parents told me to not go towards this specialized field for a career because there is no demand of it here but I carried on my work in this area . Honestly I wasn't a ' kitaabi qeera ' type student scoring high grades always , but I worked smarter rather than harder and that's the key to success at FAST .

In short I focused more towards the practical side of my field of interest like working on projects , making portfolio , doing internships .etc . In the end I not only found a job as a GameDev but also was on the 6th/7th number among the batch of ~200 students to grab a job that early before Final Exams .
