Samsung has ODIN and sony has Flashtool. To backup your current fw, you can do a nandroid backup.

So it will work with any Xperia phone.

For rooting's definition read this xda-developers - View Single Post - [Newbie] All You Need To Know ( SGY Basics). You will not need it unless you want to use app which require root access.

For browsing root directory or installing app as system app you can use aroma file manager without rooting your phone. [CWM-APP][1.80] AROMA Filemanager + TERMINAL :: 121017-007 :: Open Source - xda-developers

Yes you can try custom roms on Note II and easily revert to Stock rom (for warranty claim) by flashing stock rom using ODIN. Samsung phones are most easy for custom firmware installation (unlock bootloader)

Rooting is like gaining administrator rights on your phone. Custom ROMs are modified OS images. And yes, unlike iDevices, you can revert back to any firmware you want. It's not risky if you know what you're doing. Rooting can help you backup your ROM, overclock your phone, restore from an old backup, and can help you modify almost everything in your phone. It's really not that hard. This might be helpful http://galaxynote2root.com/ but make sure to check if you have the same firmware version as shown in the guide.

Just so you know, I don't have a mobile (don't care much). Anyway, my friend is asking if he can pirate paid apps for his Galaxy Tab. As I don't know much about rooting, Androids, whatever. I wanted to know if there is anyway. Is rooting/jailbreaking necessary to run pirated apps or can they run anyway? I haven't felt this much of noob for a long time, but he's a good friend, so I want to help. I googled, of course, but there doesn't seem to be much. Can pirated apps even run on Galaxy Tab?

Nothing is required to run pirated apps on android. Just search for the cracked .apk file of the app/game you want on google and download and install it.

Download pirated apps from 4shared, market militia and mobilism. Remember to go into Security and check Unknown Sources.

I read that mobilink's parent company vimpelcom joined with google so mobilink customers could buy from playstore using their mobile balance but I'm not able to do so :( help!

At the start of this year I was using Galaxy S1
Now i was thinking about ending this year with Galaxy S3

Now there r two problems which i am worried about

1 The sudden death issue
2 The fragile top layer of screen which breaks easily

What do u guys suggest should i go for S3 and am I being paranoid or r there real issues to worry about
Need suggestion from S3 users too

There's some rooting mod which [MENTION=20048]yousaf465[/MENTION] knows about would prevent your phone from sudden death. You should always make your phone wear a screen protector and try not to drop it so the screen wont break. Also, get a back cover with good grip to prevent dropping it.

The sudden death issue is solved now I think. The bug in the Exynos kernel is solved,

guys i have wildfire as what i want to know is that in speces it shows 512 mb internal memory but what i see is that it has only 150 mb internal storage? do it realy has 150 mb internal memory r do i have this issue

Yeah. My phone also shows pretty less. In the specs it's 16GB but in settings it shows 10GB.

    Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
