So i bought PS4 from UK a few months ago when i was coming back and got an additional controller with it, both controllers were working fine up till a week ago when one of them just stopped working out of the blue. When i connect it to the PS4 via USB cable the yellow light blinks once and then nothing.

One option is to send it to sony for a replacement but cant do that as i dont know where i have put the receipt (i.e. no proof of purchase), secondly sending it to sony might be more costly then getting a new controller locally.

All i want to know now is that is the controller salvageable or is it a goner. Anyone here who had this issue and found a solution would be a great help.

As far i know that sony in pakistan dont replace controllers in warranty. Only consoles get replaced after having the warranty card and I am speaking about 12xx series.

In dubai controllers get replaced. If you have your warranty card, can try to help u get your controller replaced via uae.

Or get it repaired locally if you dont want to face risks.

Well!......i disassembled both my DS4s the faulty one and the one working, swapped the batteries and still the same problem so it isnt the battery i am sure of it. My best guess is it has to do with the micro controller chip on the board or maybe one of the tiny tiny resistors/diodes etc which could be causing problem.
