The Best Diablo III Players In the World Are Robots
Diablo III has had its problems since it launched in May. But one problem Blizzard was assuredly on top of were bots. That constant internet connection the game required would allow them to spot all sorts of nasty behavior and put it on lockdown.
Except according to a site that tracks the best players… bots are the top-ranked Diablo III players in the world.
Site
Diablo Progress just offers up the raw data for us to peruse, but Reddit crunched the numbers and frankly they're pretty embarrassing. If the current worldwide champion morfz0r#2997 is a human being and has really racked up 398,392 Elite kills, assuming 1 to 3 Elite kills per minute or so, he or she has been essentially been playing for
more than 100 days straight. Throwing in a few breaks to eat and sleep, that's still doing nothing but playing one game, twelve to sixteen hours a day, since it came out.
And playing the same difficulty level over and over again: morfz0r#2997
has completed no content outside of Normal. With the same level 60 character, no less.
Yes, that strikes us as somewhat suspicious too. Granted this could easily just be one account that's shared by multiple people but it's also flagrantly against the rules. Hopefully Blizzard will weigh in and tell us why they've made these decisions.
