[h=2]Hard mode is coming to Crota's End in Destiny next week, here's what you get[/h]


Bungie is unlocking hard mode in Destiny's latest raid, Crota's End, next Wednesday, Jan. 21, the developer said in an update today. The new difficulty will not only make Crota and friends more challenging, it will grant access to all manner of new loot.


Destiny players will soon be able to plunder a handful of primary weapons from the Hellmouth, once Crota's been put to bed. Those hard mode-exclusive primary weapons include the Abyss Defiant auto rifle, Fan of Ir Yut scout rifle, Oversoul Edict pulse rifle and Word of Crota hand cannon. Crota's End in hard mode is also the only place to score the Crux of Crota, which can be used to upgrade the Eidolon Ally legendary auto rifle to the Necrochasm.



Hard mode for Crota's End also has an exclusive color palette drop, Glowhoo, and a pretty tough-looking ship, the Bane of the Dark Gods.

Expect a substantial challenge, since players will be raiding at a one-level deficit in Crota's End hard mode. But if history repeats itself, players will find some roundabout way to cheese Crota.


"If you've experienced Hard Mode in Vault of Glass, you have some clues for how we can scale up a Raid," Bungie says. "Prepare to take better care of your teammates. You'll have fewer options for healing yourself, and each other. The enemies you're about to face are stronger and more prone to temper tantrums."


Hard mode in Crota's End is scheduled to kick off in Destiny at 10 a.m. PT on Jan. 21.

Oh shit ICE BREAKER! Fuck people would be losing their minds right now! I know a few guys who have been wanting this gun since they laid their eyes on.

Last night I was raiding the VoG, at Atheon a guy who had been yearning for a Vex Mythoclast since the start and has done the VoG more times than any other in the clan....he got one last night, my earpiece exploded from the nerdgasm ....he reminded me of a bieber fangirl on drugs.

Haha damn. Yea I was really suprised aswell. Didnt think Icebreaker would come back tjat easily. Now all I need is thr gjallarhorn. I still dont know why icebreaker cost 17 SC and TLW cost 23 :/ also did the CE raid again. Got through the whole part ptetty easily and got my gucci raid boots from the bridge CP. These muricans and I couldnt do crota since no one had Swordbearer experimece. After this guy left the raid and after 2 hours. I thought fuck it but then we invited a lvl 32 hunter with some sick swordbearer experience. After finally killing CE all I got was BH (again) and energy. Pretty good day. The goras were pretty funny aswell. Aie this game, no matter how bad in RNG. Is pretty addictive so far. Sad I cant do Iron banner this time. Those gloves and hand canon looks pretty nice. Doubt I can reach rank 5 from scratch.

Yes a good swordbearer can make things a lot easier, same as it was with the relic holder in VoG.

For the IB rank 5, well the tempered buff works very well and the buff ratio moves up to 150% as the event comes to a close i.e. by Sunday the buff will give you a 120% bonus exp and on Monday it will reach to 150%.

So Saturday night me and my regular Arab clan did the CE raid for the first time. Most of the guys had been busy with RL stuff so we never got 6 people together. Only did nightfalls and weeklys here and there.

But wow.

Even though there was 1 virgin with us, we blew through the raid in near-record time with ZERO wipes. People died here and there, but some clutch revives and quick thinking pulled us through. I also finally got to play the first checkpoint properly and it's a heck of fun. However, I DIDN'T GET SHIT! ONLY ASS AND ENERGIES THROUGHOUT!

I too have been having some shit luck lately...I have cleared the VoG on Hard about 18 times now and not a single Vex or Atheon's Epilogue!! The Crota raid I have done it every week since release and I am yet to get any weapon other than the Fusion Rifle (Light in the Abyss). This week as well I got nothing worthy from the nightfall either followed with a sparrow and energies from VoG and Shards and Energies from the entire Crota raid!

Although I have a full raid set to reach 32 (minus the helm) but I want gear which suits my play style, better stats in terms of Discipline/Intellect/Strength. Seems like with the lack of good drops I will have to settle with this to get ready for the Hard Mode which will be opening this Wednesday.
@Obelisk whenever you see us online just join our party chat and we'll patch you up with the rest of the group. I don't ever need the lfg sites you usually find someone willing to help you out.

My luck has been alright. Started properly playing destiny since nov but havnt stopped since then. Got gear around end of dec and since then got my atheons epilouge on my first atheon nm kill and found verdict too in the same raid but no other wep so far :/ same for crota. Got hunger of crota on first crota kill and blackhammer twice after 2ns and 3rd crota kill. I only have one char so things are slow. Tho have some vanguard and exotics for hunter so I guess I ll be making that soon joined primearchs. Damn its a paki clan, I was gonna suggest we should make one but cba this should make things fairly easy for me I'll partake in the HM CE raid once I get enough shards and get Eris's Abuses will lead to ban ass to lvl 4 in a few days.

If you are able to hit level 32 before the next reset, do not do the CE raid on normal. Do it directly on hard to get double the chances of loot drops.

No I learnt my lesson the hard way! Back in the days of VoG, I used to do it just on hard and it fked me over with awarding me twice the shards from every run and nothing else. Atleast you can have lesser regrets when doing it separately on both normal and hard that you didn't ruin your chances. It takes a good amount of luck to reap both pool rewards from a raid run and I haven't been that lucky recently ... So yeah I will do them both and besides the raid is too damn fun and now with two difficulty settings I have more of reason to run it twice for loot! So its a win win situation for me.

BTW I have also noticed that this game has kind of hit a saturation point, there are a few peeps from our clan who have stopped playing it and some have toned down the frequency of it, I too haven't played this game since last 2 days which previously was impossible for me I played it even if I had to stay up till 2 in the morning for finishing the daily stuff. I am of the opinion that as soon as the bigger titles will hit, my destiny time will significantly reduce to just Tuesdays or maybe Saturday nights (if I am unable to finish all weekly stuff on Tuesdays).

^ My time hasn't gone down that much. I can't give more than 2 hours on weekdays in the first place but the fact that I'm playing this over Halo is something. Heck, even if the game brings you in every Tuesday and Saturday then it has done it's job lol.

Pretty sure by the time people start to wander off, the new expansion will hit and everyone will be raiding again.
