Hi everyone its been a few weeks since i`ve been working on my cross desk... so i thought lets share it here.....
well i`ve been looking for a long time to get a nice desk for me... and just then i ran into this desk L3p D3sk | L3p
so i thought i should make one for myself....
i know it`s not actually the same but i tried my best to make sure that it looks similar
l3p desk is the inspiration of what i`m actually upto....
i started it from nothing.....and here`s the short story
i went to the market and got these iron bars as per my measurments...
These were apart ... i bought 3 bars and got them welded up.... then some unpleasant work.....
had to dug holes in my wall to fix it in..........
and then this little accident happened one of the holes were through ... hahah the other side of the wall looks pretty bad atm ...
then some nasty work with the cement ....
after all this i was really exhausted so i rested a day or two... then went to the market to gather some wood.....
i made my choice to built it into wood instead of almunium so that i can easily make any changes in it....
imo wood helped me a lot much easier in cutting and pasting it together....
got some stuff from the market a ply and some borders to hold the ply now here`s the box which would fit into those iron bars
days of work and woohoo there we go
Measurements are essential ....
again a visit to the market to get the glass to put it on top of it....
and some wire clips....
instead of buying a new plate for the motherboard or trying to fix it in the wood whats much easier was to cut my pc`s casing....
it was really old and crappy
got the base and back pannel out as according to my requirment...
YEs i know the edges are not fine.... but doesnt matters much to me....
pheww typical job to cut it in that shape...
woopss had some work to do so i had to turn it on in this way
pretty much what i had in mind.....
and now the front cutting has to be done so that i can fit my knees in easily
it looks really great.. i did not know that i`m such a good carpenter,
after all that i had to paint the wood. its been really challenging to what to do with the paint...
becuase i didnt know that i could actually get the result i wanted or not .... so decided not to paint it
but instead got this thing... i dont know what name does it have hahah
just bought it cause i liked it... and the texture is good too
then some modification in the case so i could finally paste the thing .....
A small opening for the PSU wires....
Yes... need some fans.... to make sure its not hot inside..... cut it with my own hands....
i couldnt really decide for the power on and reset switches....
cause the one i like are real expensive available on IMEXTREME
i cant spend 2k for 2 switches though.... will figure it out later so temporarily pulled these out from my casing....
and these lights too
and finally the pasting work ..... it was typical due to the corners took a few days to do so ....
