Yaar bhai ... did you see all those news sites banned last week (theverge, theguardian)? They all reopened thanks to our reports to ISPs and them reporting to PTA.

PTA is not making any specific decisions in banning such IPs. It's a result of the massive ban happening from PIE (Pakistan Internet Exchange). Lots of individual servers were also banned/blocked, but got reopened eventually.

Like I said, there is no intention in banning specifically such services/ips. It's being done in a single sweep that's accidentally getting these IPs blocked too.

Also, PTCL is trying to unblock VPNs through direct communication to PTA. So let's roll with reports to ISPs but not badmouthing them at the same time. That's for PTA.

Just lodged a complaint to PTA through an email. I just don't understand one thing how come PTA can block IPs or Ports on their own without the help of ISPs? Pee-TA should have had put this much of effort in filtering youtube links instead of blocking the whole YT and VPNs, then it would have been much much appreciated.

Pakistan Internet Exchange (PIE), look it up. All traffic from ISP's first go through PIE. ISP's have their own filters in place too (e.g netsweeper @ PTCL) but these blocks are originating from PIE.

I was able to log on XBL after using a European PPTP/SSTP VPN as my XBOX 360 is PAL (Though I had to go through 15 minutes of proof/verfication process as XBL verification email takes upto 15 - 30 minutes to arrive on your alternate email address).

All you need is wifi internet connectivity and a laptop with Wifi + LAN provision

All you do is make a new VPN connection under windows. Enable sharing on your LAN connection and allow users to modify connection settings, set your home network to VPN connection.

Now, connect to your VPN connection, verify internet connectivity. Plug in LAN to your laptop and XBOX 360. Test connection > Sign in > verify credentials > VIOLA!

Alternatively, if you have a Router which supports OpenVPN, you can directly set that up in your router control panel and relieve yourselves with the hustle.

I did send a frowning email to pta complaint, and got this reply:

bro i already tried that on PC but it didnt work for PC so i did not proceeded the test on xbox,

bro i already tried that on PC but it didnt work for PC so i did not proceeded the test on xbox,
I turned on Freegate on laptop then shared internet via Lan to my PC but youtube failed to open in PC however in laptop youtube was working fine with Freegate.. so i was unable to share VPN on PC and did not tried in XBox...

Ok! Headon, first off, I don't know if someone from PTA or w.e banning consortium lurks here. I'll just post it with one of the many VPN connections I have.

vpnreactor provides free vpn session with your very own username and password for 30 minutes and its perhaps best dedicated vpn service on free basis. I am on Windows 7, so this guide will keep windows 7 into view.

In general ANY p2p supported VPN or MMORPG supported VPN works.

I have already explained what you need but here again:

LAN Cable
Internet connectivity through wifi


1. Sign up on vpnreactor for basic account, verify through email, remember your detail or copy paste somewhere you can remember. https://www.vpnreactor.com/
The region of this VPN connection is DEUTCH, so you'll need a PAL or Region Free XBOX 360
2. Connect to your very own internet connection through wifi and ONLY through wifi. (I assume you already have a laptop)
3. Change your Router's DHCP to 172.20.0.1 and ip range: 172.20.0.2 till 172.20.0.254 (PTCL's routers come with 192.168.x.x DHCP)
Reconnect to your router through wifi
4. Reset your xbox360 to default settings for Network.
5. How to make a new vpn connection

1. Open Network & Sharing Center
2. Click Setup a new connection or Network
3. In the next window, Select Connect to Workplace and click Next
4. (If you have already setup a vpn connection, choose "No, Create a new connection" option and click Next)
5. Click the First option "Use my Internet Connection (VPN)"
6. Set the name of the connection, Address : vpn.vpnreactor.net
7. Give your username & Password
8. Connect later

6. Go to properties of the VPN connection you just made

1. Go to sharing tab, Tick mark all three options (Enable other users to modify, connect to internet through blabla)
2. From list of Home Networking Connection, choose Local Area Connection or your specific LAN connection you are gonna connect your XBOX 360 with.

7. Connect to the vpn connection
8. Connect XBOX 360 with your laptop via LAN connection.
9. Turn on your XBOX 360, Test your connection to XBL
10. Login and prove that its REALLY you logging on, Second email address verification and security code confirmation (coz your location will appear either in Netherlands or Germany)

Hope this helps ._. I felt kinda lazy doing all the pictorial.
