Can someone explain the price difference?

These laptops have almost identical specs, but a price difference of more than 10k. Why is that?

This one is 56k.

This one is 69k. Could this be a typo? The only difference between the two, that I've noticed, is that the 69k one has Ubuntu, while the other one has Windows 8.1.

The 69k with offical ubuntu one is new, the 56k is refurbished.

I guess that could explain the difference, but they haven't listed it on the page. Btw, is it a good idea to purchase refurbished laptops?

Half of the laptops in the market which people buy daily are refurbished and normally you can't tell the difference at all. Nor do I think most would know whether they bought a cheap lapi just because it was refurbished. So check your lapi once you buy it thoroughly and have its warranty card. If it works fine on check it probably will work fine.

Btw, would you recommend getting a touch screen laptop?

I have mixed feeling on the subject. On a laptop it becomes quite a burden to constantly have your hands in the air, there is no benefit from it, except for 5-10 minutes of touch sessions. If you really want a touch screen device go for the MS surface 3, its as near a laptop as you could get. Its comfortable to handle. On a laptop its not comfortable at all.

If you are looking at a good laptop, my suggestion is, skip the touchscreen and get a model with Full HD resolution like 1920x1080, not crappy 1366x768. Also replace the laptop hdd with a ssd and use an external hdd for large data files.
