I now have two sata drives
one is 250 GB and other is 500GB both are segate
and motherboard is DG31pr can I set up raid and if I set it Up my best guess is 250 GB on bith will be in RAID or not? one thing more I currently have windows 7 ultimate x86 installed on 250 GB and its WEI score is 5.9 and just to test my new one I installed windows 7 ultimte in VMWARE on new one and it scored 6.6 (my WEI score is 5.5 limited by RAM ) should I install windows on 500 GB drive?

brother why you want to setup RAID ? if you want to increase the speed of PC i suggest you to get 2x 500gb hard drive and use RAID0 on them but RAID0 is not recommended since its not save. whereas RAID 5 would be expensive for you and RAID1 is useless if you want speed.
the last option for you is to get a SSD drive which will your pc performance and speed

RAID 0 is not dangerous its just that its failure rate is probably twice that of a regular hard disk. Meaning if there is a 1 out of 1000 chance of ur hdd going bad then with RAID 0 there is a 2 out of 1000 chance. As long as you keep your essential files backed up somewhere else it should be safe. Its a good way to go since its even faster than even 10,000 rpm raptor drives. But ofcourse SSDs are faster. And whats even faster than both of them, SSDs in RAID 0, now thats insanely fast.

@ Zasha bro according to best of my knowledge raid 0 means each and every file is copied in half on both drives so probability of failure is doubled any one dies whole data lost partly is it correct ? and what about switching from 250 GB to 500 GB as os drive will It give some performance boost or my RAM and Processor will pull it back ?

ok bros then RAID is out of question ruled out completely then Should i switch my OS drive or keep 500GB as data drive ?
No.

What you can do is:

a) set a static size page file. 1-2x RAM is the correct size for this page file. For ex: if you have 2GB RAM then your page file should be a maximum of 4GB.

b) Place it on a partition in your data drive. Remove any page files on your OS drive.

^^ Do that or go for SSDs, blistering speeds and insane performance all around. Get a couple on RAID and you can copy a DVD faster than throwing it out the window :p
