Asslamualikum!
Is it possible for me to create a gaming server for only our PK friends to play multiplayer games by using some big dedicated server?
Actually I wanted to create a big wireless network for all Pakistan gamers which (network) let us play multiplayer games with each other but it's impossible for me to get a huge wireless setup which covers all Pakistan even if there is it's out of my reach. So, I am thinking about a gaming server which can connect us all Pakistan gamers with each other.
Can it be possible?

It is also possible through tunngle, but i think there are servers in pakistan that you can buy, you should ask 'leon' about it, he had a pakistani TF 2 server.

I'd prefer create your own Dedicated Server, if you've a good internet connection.
FYI, NEVER RUN A GAMESERVER OR ANY OTHER SERVER FROM A WIRELESS NETWORK!

it will cost you alot if you want to make a dedicated gaming server with good speed etc.
Yes. But, at least he will be having full control over it and don't have to worry about GSP rent.
Also, almost all GSP don't dedicate their entire hardware to a single user, they virtualize and limit their hardware, which results a heavy load on the server machine, eventually lag in gameplay like hell.

Rental gameserver is a bad choice IMO.

Styles Guys I don't want create wired Network because it has it's limit and it's really hard working and Costly,

Styles brother Dedicated server means it's yours and only yours server. The Virtualize and limited Hardware servers called VPS (Virtual Private Network) I am not talking about VPS.

Styles I have to get 50mbps internet speed from ptcl right? It's 20,000 rs monthly and get a good Xeon Server. Total cost will be around 100,000 rupees. I don't think I can do it.
So, I am asking If I can get some good Core i7 or Xeon Dedicated server, Can I create a gaming Network?

Wired connections are recommended for game servers where wireless aren't. You can't host a high-end game server with wireless one, you can only host CS:S and TF2 servers one or two at most.

I wasn't talking about VPS at all, I was talking about GSP (Game Server Providers) they virtualize their hardware to get most out of one server machine using XEN/VMs etc. They won't tell you, though.

True, you need a good internet which is must-have to host game servers but a powerful Xeon isn't necessary for hosting game servers you can even host on a C2Q Q6600 with 4GiB ram depending which game server you want to host, since a server won't be using much of your hardware, that is your game server which do.

It also depends on the OS as well, if you host on a Windows-based server you've to sacrifice some amount of hardware as it has a GUI (Graphic User Interface) where as if you host your game server on a Linux-based system you only have to sacrifice from 32MB to 96MB of ram at most as it'll be just a CLI (Command Line Interface), although most of the game servers are not available for Linux but we can't do much about that.
