Hi there,
I installed COD AW and have noticed that the graphics do not give the feel of 'Next Gen'.I have cranked up the video settings to almost max (i7 3rd Gen, AMD R9 290, 8 GB Ram) but have noticed that the textures are extremely bland. However i was surprised to notice in videos posted on Youtube that the graphics appear to be much better than what i am getting on my PC. For instance the ATLAS logo printed on the gun in the first few missions and especially the ATLAS logo printed onto the cap of the driver in the training facility while travelling in a jeep with Kevin Spacey's character in it (2nd stage i guess). Also the sign boards logos within the game are very pixelated and textures on walls, floors, objects are extremely bland.Even character models like the fake president in the 'training' where we are supposed to rescue is extremely poor. But after seeing videos on YT i guess the game might not be running uptothe mark graphically.
Is there any HD texture pack or something that i might be missing? Need help folks.

[h=2]Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's super zombies arrive in January with its first DLC[/h]

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's futuristic take on zombies will arrive in January, Activision and developer Sledgehammer Games confirmed alongside a teaser trailer for the new mode. Dubbed Exo Zombies, the new cooperative multiplayer mode outfits the undead with Advanced Warfare's exoskeletons to make the shambling hordes deadlier than ever.

"As things were wrapping up around launch, we started playing around with the idea of what happens when zombies were thrown into the mix with exoskeleton gameplay," Sledgehammer says. "What we came up with is Exo Zombies — an entirely new breed of zombies and an entirely new co-op experience that is truly unique to Advanced Warfare."

The first chapter of Exo Zombies, Activision says, will hit alongside the game's first downloadable add-on pack, named Havoc. The first of four content packs, Havoc is slated to ship in January, debuting first on Xbox platforms. Add-ons Ascendance, Supremacy and Reckoning will round out Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's season pass.

The trailer for Exo Zombies leaked last month, prior to Advance Warfare's launch on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Windows PC Xbox 360 and Xbox One. For more on the latest Call of Duty, read Polygon's review and our feature story on Sledgehammer's plans to reinvent the series.

So I played a few hours of this game over the weekend .. and MAN that Kevin Spacey model looks so god damn lifelike in the pre-mission videos (in-game PS3 quality doesn't look that bad either, but obviously there's a big difference).

I like that they modeled the main character directly on Troy Baker. He looks very thin though.

[h=2]Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's Exo Zombies mode, Hollywood talent teased in trailer[/h]

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare's Exo Zombies mode will bring more Hollywood actors to the first-person shooter when it launches next month, publisher Activision announced today.

A teaser trailer released today offers some glimpses of the creatures players will be fighting. This time around, they're not regular zombies — they're Exo Zombies. The cooperative Exo Zombies mode will feature John Malkovich (Con Air), Bill Paxton (Edge of Tomorrow), Rose McGowan (Planet Terror) and John Bernthal (Fury). It's unclear if the actors will lend their voices to Advanced Warfare, or if their likenesses and performance capture will also appear in the game, like Kevin Spacey's starring role in the campaign as Jonathan Irons. (The trailer features narration from Malkovich.)

The first chapter of Exo Zombies comes with the Havoc add-on for Advanced Warfare. Havoc is set to arrive in January on Xbox platforms, and later on PlayStation and Windows PC. For more on Advanced Warfare's DLC, check out the trailer for the game's season pass below. You can also read our full review of Advanced Warfare.

[h=2]Try out Call of Duty's sniper-only mode before it ends tomorrow[/h]

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare introduced a new, sniper-only mode called "one-shot" that is currently running. It closes tomorrow morning.

In the mode, players start with diminished health and pick from one of five new classes, "custom designed by our development team and OpTic NaDeSHoT," says developing studio Sledgehammer. All five of the classes feature the MORS bolt-action railgun sniper rifle.

Sledgehammer's blog has all of the details. This wraps up at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning.

That mod rocked man. I usually get my ass handed to me in this game but in this mode i did pretty good.

I like COD: AW first COD i've ever liked. In this game you can actually dodge the enemy and minimizes the "first person to see the other and shoots usually wins" scenario.

This mode reminded me of the Rail gun and 1 shot kill mutators in the unreal games. Hell the sniper even leave a trail.

So finally decided to pick up COD:AW and give it a go.
Here’s my short review.

I was pleasantly surprised by the game. This is perhaps the first good enjoyable COD game after Modern Warfare 3.
COD:AW has a soul, it takes great pride in its presentation and it does not shy away from being over the top badass shooter at certain points.
COD:AW felt like it took the best missions and maps from previous games and mashed them together in a smart arrangement that felt like something new and exciting.
Halfway through the game, after Ilona is introduced, it felt like I was playing COD2, COD4 all over again but it felt good.
The long loading times and needless slow-mo walk parts were bland and like always served no purpose at all.
Also, that “press X to pay respects” part was a bit too pathetic and unnecessary.
Furthermore, its good that COD series has finally started to take itself seriously and COD:AW might prove to be a reboot for the series.

The Breakdown
Gameplay: 8 / 10
Sound: 9/10
Graphics: 8/10
Re-play value: 6/10
OVERALL: 7.5

The Good:

• Singleplayer Campaign: It was exciting while being painfully linear and directed. Still a lot better than Battlefield 3, 4 combined. COD gets SP right and they nailed it with COD: AW.
• Exo suits: Though they didn’t radically change the gameply, the little perks were surely handy and kept the game interesting.
• Grenade Cycle: Brilliantly done. Instead of using 10 buttons for different types of grenades or a circular weapons cycle that’s mundane and takes up space on the screen. Simple and effective.
• Sound design: I feel this deserves a mention. The way quiet missions are completely music free and faster action sequences are pumping a gradually intensifying music is a superb combination.
• Memorable Characters: Again, COD has done something that Battlefield can never do. One game and we already have characters we would remember. Specially Cormack, his life, how he joined the Sentinels [The entire back story] could be a great game on its own.

The Bad

• Exo Suits: I honestly couldn’t tell the difference between the exo suits and the so called upgrades didn’t make a huge different. Character upgrade should be done on a higher parabolic scale like Borderlands.
• Target Enhancer: Completely fucking ruined the gameplay. Hated the guns with that attachment. Made everything a bit too easy and sucked the fun out of spotting enemies.
• Weapons: In general, every weapon felt the same and in two classes. Automatic or semi automatic. There was no variety or in-field upgrades or attachments.
• Graphics: Looked like crap in most night missions and indoor levels.
• Too much hand-holding: Game could have easily let you discover, move, shoot on your own but it keeps telling you go here, do that, way too much pampering.
• Batclaw: why introduce something so useful and yet restrict it like that?

Well, finally got to play it. Here is my impression of it:

Another year, another COD game, another satisfying, fast paced, on-the-rails campaign.

Story:
Like the name would suggest, the game takes place somewhat in the future with more advance weaponry and tech. IT is a time where private military corporations are common. Our hero, after suffering a loss while being marine, gets a second chance in one of the top private corporation called ATLAS. And of course, there are terrorists who should be stopped, so that's our job. While the premise is cliched and all, it was fine by me. What I liked about it was how they kinda targeted USA for current world situation in the game.
I'm still looking for a character like Captain Price in COD campaigns, still no luck. But there were some decent characters in this game. One of them is voiced by Kevin Spacey himself, so he was obviously awesome.

Where this game really excels is the pacing of the story and how it presents it. It honestly felt like watching a hollywood action/war movie. The cutscenes between mission were top notch. Probably the best paced COD I have played so far.

Gameplay:
While the gameplay retains the same COD run and gun mechanics and feel, there are some nice new additions. The exo-suit adds a bunch of new movements techniques or other tactical advantages which are fun to use and kinda makes the gameplay feel fresh. I loved jumping high and killing enemies, then burst dodging and repeating, so much fun. There were some new future tech grenades too, which added more fun to the game, BUT I didn't like how you had to cycle through their types considering how fast paced the fights are. Would have been better if you could dedicate keys to different types instead.

There are a lot of different levels in the game too, where you either control a drone, a vehicle or something similar, and they are spread out finely enough that the whole game feels just right. There are no dragged out fights, like I said earlier, great pacing in this game. And ofcourse, COD isn't COD without their signature blockbuster destruction set pieces, there were plenty in this game but my favourite was definitely the destruction of Golden Gate bridge, SO AWESOME.

Graphics:
Finally they ditched that old engine and created something new. The game looks totally refreshing, finally feels like a next gen COD. Pretty good textures, lighting, animations etc. For a COD game, this looks beautiful no doubt. Outdoor areas definitely look better than some indoor scenes though maybe because I played Crysis trilogy before it and was spoiled by their awesome indoor lighting.

Sound:
The sound effects are great, I guess compliments of a new engine. The destruction, the blasts etc feel punchy and powerful. I was disappointed by the gun sounds though, most of them sounded very similar and well lame.

Overall:
I think this is one of the best COD campaign I have played so far. I always enjoy playing COD, and this was no different. They definitely know how to do a campaign.

8.7/10
