Cable Wiring and signal question

A tree fell off during the last storm in Lahore and disconnected our cable/internet wire from the pole. We called an electrician and he put it back. Now, two days ago the same wire broke in two pieces. We called the cable/internet company and they put half new wire and used half old one, joined them together with electrical tape and then connected it to the pole.

My question is are we losing any signal due to a joint in the cable wire? Should the cable company have replaced the entire wire?

Thanks in advance!

In case of quality issues.
you should notice the difference during gaming anyway.
Since along with ping you'd net net loss.

So if you feel any different, then you have the right to complain. :)

Thanks for the replies guys! Yes, I'm feeling a difference particularly while gaming. The online games I play seem to be losing connection in the middle of a battle now (which I rarely encountered before). Guess, I'll be getting in touch with the company now.

There are a few ways to connect a Joint as per standards. Those ways can only lessen the losses, they do not eliminate losses.

You should ask them to replace the whole length of that wire. No questions on this. This Susti and had haram'ness from people degrades the whole quality of networks in out area.

You should become an ass pendulum untill they get this done properly.
