i want to know the value of bscs degree from uog.....
means when applying for job how uog degree will effect......
and what is the average salary at the start of job.....
I am doing my BS from LUMS. My teachers also say that the name of your university doesn't matter for CS. All that matters is your skills and abilities. Some even say that your GPA does not matter, except for the cutoff some companies have. And after you have your first job i.e if you are not a fresh graduate they dont even see that.
In my opinion your university matters only for career advising and their links with companies to get you job placements and internships or if you are planning to join grad school.
As far as the courses are concerned they are mostly the same, although the content could be different (outdated vs latest technologies and techniques, difficulty level, breadth and depth of the syllabus content etc) but you can cover that up and stay in touch with the latest stuff using the vast free resources available online (that is, if you are willing).
Average salary for fresh graduates is around 40-60k. But there are always exceptions.
