as far as i know
for bbm u need to activate blackberry services which r provided by network

You need the BB Service Packages To use the Messenger.

1000rs+tax for mobilink , warid , telenor and zong .

900rs + tax for ufone.

Not sure , I havent activated the services on my Storm , Tho it wont be that much.
With the BB Package Services - You can browse the net, msn , facebook, and bb messenger ofc.

i went to ufone franchise they said u can use any handset if it isn't locked with country code but for bbm you have to get the black barrey service activated :S
