2K Games pushes 2K Marin and co.-developed dystopian shooter out of its current fiscal year, CEO confirms 360, PS3, PC launch during first half of 2010; new multiplatform GTA in doubt for fiscal 2010.

"We recognize that our revised outlook for the balance of fiscal year 2009, due to both internal and external factors, is a disappointment," Take-Two chairman Strauss Zelnick said in a statement. "That said, we concluded that moving the release of BioShock 2 into fiscal year 2010 was the right decision for the product. We believe the result will be a more compelling consumer experience and a better performing product in the marketplace. At the same time, near term retail conditions have proven to be more challenging for our business than the assumptions built into our prior outlook."

Deja Vu from 2007. GTA IV delayed to 2008.

I already had my doubts that it was going to be delayed. November release was going to be a rushed product anyway. Not even FOUR developers could complete it by then. Anyway, its a good decision and BioShock 2 definitely needs time to brew.

But in the end, its the MOST DISAPPOINTING delay of 2009. So...NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

they just didn't want competition ...

2k realized that 2009 is going to be tough year, coz cod mw2 releasing this year and many competitive games, so just like other they pushed this game too

^ Actually every game is trying to EVADE Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. That game won't be delayed. COD4 & Halo 3 even scared GTA IV off in 2007.

thats not fair. i think the year 2009 sucked in gaming 2008 had many great and big titles i dont find any title released yet. i was hoping for mafia 2 my longest avaited title and now bioshock 2 is also delayed.Screw u 2k games

Yeah but COD 4 gained more popularity AFTER it released. The hype surrounding it before release was not very high...Atleast not as high as Halo 3, so my money is on that i.e: Halo 3 scared GTA 4 to 2008 lol
