Best University for Computer Science (KHI or LHR)

Assalam-o-Alikumn

Just like the title suggests, any best university recommendations for Computer Science?
Doing A-Levels right now.
Subjects: Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science.

For now I have only two options:
1. IBA (Heard ALOT of good stuff)
2. FAST LHR Campus. (I've heard Lahore campus is much more better than the KHI one)

Your opinion will be appreciated. =)

FAST Karachi is best in Karachi for CS. NUST, IBA and UBIT (Karachi University) are also great choices.

I'd recommend NUST main campus or DHA Suffa. Suffa's teachers are op damn. My friend is currently studying from there and Suffa's reputation is increasing day by day.
I am in UBIT 2nd year and honestly the teachers here aren't that good. I found only 2. Course outline is good but the teachers :s You'll have to study hard yourself, while that's more or less true everywhere but believe me, our DLD teacher doesn't even know how an electron comes out of the atom.

NUST was initially my option but then that would mean studying for ECAT and paying 32k for the tuitions. And I don't have time for that. Already busy with my A-Levels. And since FAST and IBA test are just focused on Math and English, I'm more comfortable on that.
As far as DHA suffa is concerned, it's not yet recognized in industry so I'm not having my mind set on it.
FAST's khi campus, I'm not hearing any good things about it lately (on basis of faculty and social events). So can anyone guide me on its Lahore and/or Islamabad campus?

DHA suffa doesn't have any batches out yet i think so i agree you'd be less comfortable but i'd still prefer it. I dunno how many people have heard about it but its clearly gaining ground. About FAST khi campus better ask @Behrox. I wouldn't want iba tho just my personal preference. Their course outline doesn't look that great. Did you look into lums?

LUMS required SAT and I was stupid not to take its test. It's too late now I guess.
I disagree about IBA. I know a lot of people there taking CS and they are enjoying it. According to them, it's not only about computing. Rather you also get to see the business side of things which I think sounds awesome.
NUST ka I've heard that you have the option of either taking NET with Chemistry or NET with Computer Science. Is it true?

Sorry for hi-jacking thread; have a similar kind of question. I'm aiming for IBA or FAST-KHI, and I started ECAT tuitions. Was that a good idea? Will ECAT help with the entry tests for the Unis I listed? Or did I just waste a bunch of money

ECAT me you're studying chem and phy as well right? If so, then yes it kinda was. Coz IBA and FAST's aptitude test consists of only Math and English questions + some General Knowledge ones.
Any one do correct me if I'm wrong.

Btw i checked the course outline of IBA... there is no Computer Graphics course not even as an elective wtf? So what will happen to the people aiming to go game programming or towards that side. Somebody correct me if im wrong

About nust, yes i think i there was a computer science section there and you had a choice to either attempt that or chemistry but physics is compulsory. On second thought there must be a choice because what will happen to those who took CS in inter. I'd say give the test for nust. I scored 126 or sumthing and got my name on 3rd merit list.

There is only Introduction to Game Programming & Robotics". Maybe they'll teach graphics in game programming? but i think graphics should be present as a separate course.

Anyway, can anyone guide on how to prepare for the NET test because I dont want to spend 35k for the tuition. Any idea from what books should I prepare for the test and whether it helps for those (like me) giving the test with Computer Science.

FAST Khi campus is good. The teachers as in any uni, some are good others not so good (IMO). As far as social life in FAST goes, it depends mostly on how serious you are in your studies (grades, etc) and how well you are able to manage time and grasp concepts. Social events are overall good, some are very good, some average ones. Recently, there has been a change of the director of the campus and we have high hopes for the new director Miss HK to revamp the campus. As far as the academic aspect goes, I would advise you to not only rely on teachers, use external sources (online lectures, etc) to make up for any shortcomings you are experiencing in your concepts and basically everything you don't understand or are confused in (This is not just for FAST, but for all universities as far as CS is concerned)

I have a few friends in FAST khi campus and they are absolutely regretting their decision of applying there. According to them, their faculty is not very good and there aren't any social events over there. Tau i guess Lhr or Isb campus will be better.

Apart from that, can anyone guide me on what books should I use for preparing for NUST test. Is ECAT book enough?

FAST has a very good reputation in industry & I can tell you that because I'm a FAST graduate from last summers . You will mostly find fast graduates sitting in top positions in most of the companies in Karachi . Most of the students land a job even before graduation & this is one of the biggest advantage at FAST . Wesay @Behrox has covered pretty much everything I wanted to say ... Social life at FAST might not be that good as compared to others but they prepare you best for the industry .
