Hello,
I'd be moving to Bahria Town, DD Sector (Lahore) in around a month. I'm sick and tired of my PTCL 4 mbps connection (where I live atm near Johar Town); gets disconnected, low speeds and hit pings for CSGO etc. I often have to use an EVO Charji device for the casual gaming and surfing. Downloading is okay(get around 200-400 kbps on average on torrents with good seeds, enough for me) but it feels like a dial-up connection most of the day when using the internet.

So preferably I want to change to a better ISP. What are my options and how much would they cost? My main concern is good browsing speeds and downloading speeds and if I can get good ping with that for gaming, that'd be great! (I do require a reasonable amount of ping around 200-300 so at least I can play which I do very less cause of studies but still :p). I'd probably also keep the EVO Charji since it works well, but any other option or replacement for that would also be great!

Thank you!

Here in bahria town ptcl works absolutely fine i am using 20mbps vdsl myself and i have 0 complaints so far. Before they were using copper technology but now it is on fiber so now there's no complaint.

vdsl is still on copper from cabinet to end user. Only benefit of using VDSL is that you can use higher speeds on it then you can on ADSL which have a theoratical max of 24mbps.
I have used 50 Mbit vdsl in the past and its pretty stable but i would still suggest FTTH if its available in Bahria. Ask around

Which block do you live in? How's the customer service? And what are the rates? Vdsl = ftth?

24mbps is a lot, isn't it?

Check with Storm fiber, they're good but i do not know if they're available where you're moving to.

That's subjective, 4 mbps for some ppl is a lot but others aren't satisfied with 100 mbps and want more.
I have a 4mbps connection right now. I am promised around 300-400 kbps which is a lot for me lekin masla ye hai keh itni aati nahi hai...

I just want a stable connection and bearable ping.

That is why you should look for FTTH. I don't live in Bahria but if anyone is offering FTTH then get it, be it stormfiber/ptcl/fibernet or what not.
Problem with ptcl ADSL is that their DSLAM/cabinets are over populated with connections and that's why when many concurrent ppl are online on the same copper line it gets clogged and you get slow speeds. Contrary to popular belief ptcl doesn't have limited bandwith but the problem relies on their decades old copper lines which can't transmit enough data fast. If you get ADSL/VDSL then expect slow-downs at evening times (i.e. peak timings when most ppl are online).
