Best new phone under 50k

I am looking to buy a new phone. So far Mi 6 seems the best option. Recommendations are welcome and screen size needs to be less than 5.2 inch.

How about a used iphone 7? A new one is around 60-65k so a used would probably be just over the 50k mark. I was going to say the Samsung Galaxy S8 (again used) but it has a 5.8inch screen. If you're worried about the size of the phone then the s8 is just a tad bit taller than the iphone 7.

Hmm, coming from a used iPhone 5s which I purchased a year and a half or more ago, still working solid but I bought it used. Turns out the screen was replaced when I had to open it myself after the screen got damaged and replaced it with A+ OEM screen. I don't want to experience the same thing again with another used Phone... esp. with water resistant phones. Plus I want to go with Android, as much as I love and enjoy iOS, just a few limitations right now and don't want to JB.

A used S8 in 50+ range you say? That's tempting actually..... the reason I want a smaller screen phone was so its easy to work with one hand, plus I don't want it hanging out of my pocket, lol but if S8 in close range to 50k, I'd def. consider it. But again, where will I find used S8 currently in this price? and that too reliable source locally, I'd def. check out local shops in Rawalpindi but I think they'll laugh at "used S8"...

Another option for me is Swappa, I can get a decent phone in good price there, given it would support the bands here but that would be my 2nd option.

Okay so we'll remove the option of an iphone. Besides s8 the oneplus 5 is also a good option, you can get the 6gb/64gb version for around 51-52k. It was just released a few months ago and so it will get updates for the next two years or so. The lg g6 is also a very good option. It has water resistance and a gorgeous screen and a dual camera, a normal and a wide angle, which I love.

Get the OnePlus 5, you won't regret it. I recently bought the 8GB model (did the unboxing too, check that thread) and I'm Luvin' It

OP5 Android 8 Beta will be coming by the end of the month too.

Thanks guys for your responses. Checked in market yesterday and to my surprise, S7 brand new with warranty is up for sale in 48k. lol, too confusing for me. I'll rest my head for sometime and decide what to get...

Would be the biggest waste of money to buy a new S7/S7 edge now since Android O is coming for it very soon and that will be the last software update for it. It's resale value will go to shit very soon and it's not really future proof considering custom ROMs on Exynos phones really aren't a thing, it's also microUSB which is starting to fade out.

S8 for 50k? Possible, yes, definitely. Easy? No way. Even the S8 american kits that are coming in Karachi are less in supply since the phones are still fairly new and expensive, nobody really bothers investing in them. They come in extremely limited quantities, maybe around 5-7 pieces per shop, which get sold out very quickly.
It's a great phone, won't deny that, but wait a bit if you can, the resale value will take a hit (although not a huge one), when the Note 8 is available in Pakistan.

What else you can get?

Xiaomi? No experience with their new models, too many to keep track of, they release 200 different variants of the same phone so it's hard to keep up. Get one if you're interested, flagship specs at a fraction of the price, however, the UI is hideous, and they couldn't care less about security, no regular security patch updates, and they need to step up their software update game.

OnePlus? The OP5 is a good phone, don't get me wrong, but OP really was trying to become like Apple with this phone. Not only did they jam the iPhone 7 Plus into a photocopier and stamp the OP logo on the back, they really didn't change much with this phone. No innovation at all. Same display as OP3T, same speakers, smaller battery, and that stupid jelly scrolling thing. They're trying to attract people with ridiculous amounts of RAM since they have nothing else to go on. However, if you can get one cheap, it would be good, and future proof as well since it has the latest specs, and very good custom ROM support.

LG G6?
Worst custom skin out of all major Android OEMs? Check.
Possibility of it randomly crapping out on you and bootlooping? Check, it's an LG, they should write 'Stops working after 6 months' on the box.
Slow software updates? Check.
Terrible resale? Check.

Your choice now.

wow. Thanks for that! How about a more down to earth but 36k Samsung A5 2017... I think it'll manage the stuff I mostly do fine. Its rated IP68...

A5 is great, but if it suits your budget, get the 2017 A7 instead.

Oneplus 5 is without a doubt the best phone in under 50k. It is undebatable. Apart from its mediocre display Oneplus 5 gives you whatever the most expensive flagships phones are giving but at a more affordable price.

The experience is good so far. I have used both MIUI 8 and 9. MIUI 8 also received upgrade yesterday, with Security level patch at August 2017. Going to try some custom ROMs now, starting with AOSP Extended.

The bootloader unlock requires submission with Xiaomi, received approval in less than 20 minutes however they require you to tie the phone with MI account after upgrade to MIUI 9. Not an issue, except wait of 72 hours before one can proceed with the unlock after fresh tie.

I don't like MIUI Contacts and Dialer apps. The rest seems to be fine. The only complaint so far is related to Android overall, not being able to make simple device/app data backups without root. I come from iOS after almost two years so yeah...

Google Drive's online backup seems to be off due to issue from Google. "Disabled by Admin" error which seems to be present in many other devices too but found a workaround, create local backups, it will backup to MIUI > Backup > Allbackup as folders. Those can be transferred to PC and also restored by copying back.
