PC Battlefied 3 Open BETA: Info, Discussion and Meet-up thread

I downloaded Black Ops twice during the free weekends (excess server load) at over 400KB/s and the game was also lag free. Granted, this is just the beta so I can't question the lag, and the DL speed was around 350KB/s, which isn't bad at all but not better than Steam.

And everything is being done through the browser. Origins is only good for chatting.

Had a great time playing with wanxta, Yasir and Radical. Beta is clunky as hell but man I'm pre-ordering this ASAP.

Would've joined you too.
But my AV didn't like the Beta ONE BIT. So I uninstalled it and it's working fine.

Also note guys you have add friends in battlelog aswell, ORIGIN is quite useless since you can't join your friends in-game.

Instead add each other on battlelog & party up from there!

Bois the hype is real. I played the Caspian Border for like 3-4 hours now and its great fun though its almost impossible to shoot using a sniper rifle from a distance with the huge lag i am facing.
One major gripe. Not a major fan of the new prone feature. It really makes the game unbalanced imho.

Necro I am as much fan of steam as you are. Infact I hate that we have to play the game on origin. But give those poor chumps a chance. It is recently reported that they have hit 4 million mark.

You said that 6950 would run it on medium?

I ran it on Ultra settings at 1440x900. It was extremely smooth (must smoother than Crysis 2 SP). Might be giving 45 to 55 FPS. ^__^!!

And wow damnit this game is t3h shizz! I might buy this game (the first thing I bought in my life rofl).

Bhallu apna catalyst bhi upgrade ker. It made a difference of like 4-5 fps for me on high at 1920x1080

I played Caspian Border for a while too but it was way too big. Like literally impossible to find the people. Jets were the best part. All I did was hunt the jets down from the turrets :lol:

Origins has been absolutely fucking useless for this BETA. Aside from the fact that EA made it mandatory to be running, it does absolutely nothing useful for the game.

well i did the torrent dld but didnt work for me etc so im dlding from origins ! just 2 hours left btw if light goes while dlding while the dld get corrupt or something ?

lol BF3 was totally unplayable on my laptop,i thought it would be playable at least on low but even at 640x480 it was lagging.:hah:

Guys i would say that COD has the best balance of visuals, gameplay,performance even for consoles guys and i hope that COD developers continue this trend and i am pretty sure that COD would fare much better in terms of sale than BF3.

Mere sath bhi yehi masla ho raha hai. 4.3 GB out of 3.9 GB. and the files in the Win32 folder are about 200 MB larger than the files in the torrent that contains the beta.
