batman was effective in that series but the action had no style to it and was slow and realistic, which nolan intended i think... he did kick ass of normal people as effectively as batman would though...
That's true. Nolan's version was grounded in reality so the action went along the same path.

[h=1]Batman V Superman: Ben Affleck On Playing An Older & Damaged Batman[/h]

Pity the actor who lands the role of a much respected and widely known superhero. While this might seem like an absurd statement to make, the fact of the matter is that aside from the wealth and prestige that can come an actor’s way as the result of portraying a superhero, there is a tremendous amount of pressure, risk and commitment involved in taking on such a task.
Cinematic history has proven that sometimes actors don’t hit the mark in their portrayal of certain superheroes. When that happens, the public doesn’t easily forgive and forget. Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern, Ben Affleck as Daredevil, George Clooney as Batman – these were not easy roles to play and carried with them no small amount of history – particularly in the case of Batman.

No other superhero has appeared on the big screen more than the Dark Knight, which ups the ante considerably on how the character can be portrayed. In the case of Ben Affleck’s return to superhero form as Batman in the upcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, Affleck shed some light during this past weekend’s NBA All-Star game pre-show on exactly where his version of Batman finds the character (h/t Comic Book):
“He’s a little over the hill–broken. He’s kind of given up. And when Superman shows up he’s like so powerful that he threatens everything that Batman kind of believes in, and it leads to this conflict. So it wasn’t like I had to play Batman in his prime, so that was at least the excuse that I told myself.”

Both Affleck and Henry Cavill appeared on the pre-game show to promote Batman V Superman (which they both confirmed they’ve seen the film in its entirety) and chat about their characters. While the two actors agreed that the intimidation factor was high when it came to portraying either of these roles, Affleck also admitted that after seeing Cavill as Superman in 2013’s Man of Steel, he was unnerved by the actor’s physical shape.
“For me the hardest part of this movie and movies like this is the amount of training you have to go into – I saw the first movie, Man of Steel that he [Cavill] was in and the kind of shape he was in and it was kind of intimidating… I was like, oh, do I have to look like that? That’s gonna be a lot of work.”
Affleck’s admission that his Batman is “over the hill” when we find him speaks to the reality that Cavill is 11 years younger and as such, adds credibility to the belief that any battle involving Superman and Batman couldn’t possibly end in Batman’s favour. It’s one thing to stage a battle between two superhero titans, but it’s quite another to stage said battle between two physically mismatched titans.
Of course, Affleck’s casting as an older, more broken down Batman is no accident and this portrayal of an aged hero is perhaps intended as a personification of mankind. Given that Superman represents a physically superior being with the ability to bully humanity if need be, Affleck’s Batman could be representative of exactly the sort of hardline perseverance that humanity typically reflects. And who better to represent the human spirit that Batman?

[h=1]Batman V Superman: Batsuit Details, Alfred Backstory & New Posters[/h]

After nearly three years of waiting, Batman V Superman is almost here. Once thought to be a pipe dream for DC comic book fans, the recent trend toward shared-universe moviemaking has opened the door to a steady stream of interconnected adventures in the worlds of Marvel, X-Men, DC, and even Star Wars. The result? “The greatest gladiator match in the history of the world: Son of Krypton versus Bat of Gotham.” A divisive approach to spoilers has left many fans wondering how much of Zack Snyder’s highly-anticipated film will still manage to surprise when Dawn of Justice actually makes it to theaters; though, the director maintains, even though certain elements have been unveiled, there are still a lot of reveals that remain unspoiled.
It’s easy to focus on what was shown in the Doomsday trailer, which many fans felt went a bit too far in laying out key plot beats (especially: Batman + Superman + Wonder Woman V Doomsday); yet, one of the primary goals of Snyder’s film is to introduce new takes on well-known pieces of DC mythology. As a result, just because we know Doomsday is in the film, doesn’t mean it won’t still be interesting to see exactly how the character is brought to life – as well as what his final form will look like. The same goes for other pieces of the puzzle – we’ve seen several pictures of the armored Batsuit and watched Alfred remote pilot the Batwing but there’s still a lot we’ve yet to learn about this version of Batman and his supporting players.

Today, thanks to some digging by What Culture, we have new details about Alfred’s reimagined backstory for Batman V Superman as well as new tech specifications for the Batsuit (all courtesy of the Dawn of Justice companion book).
First up, What Culture suggests that Alfred’s relationship to the Wayne family has been significantly reworked, in comparison to the proper British butler version that has been prominent in prior Batman TV shows and films. Instead, the Alfred played by Jeremy Irons didn’t just grow into the mission control asset fans saw in the latest Batman V Superman trailer, it turns out that this Alfred was never a butler; instead, he was a bodyguard for the Wayne family – and the only member of the staff that Bruce Wayne opted to keep on after his parents were murdered. This Alfred, much like the one depicted in Fox’s TV series Gotham, was a highly-trained combatant – who didn’t just support Bruce in his time of mourning, he also trained him to fight back.
Years later and the Dawn of Justice Alfred is publicly known as Bruce Wayne’s head of security, with a knack for tactical intelligence and knowledge of diverse weapon systems – putting his prior role as a Special Air Service officer to work for Wayne Enterprises (and, subsequently, Batman). As a result, it’s easy to imagine that the Dawn of Justice Alfred had a hand in the engineering (or at the very least refining) Batman’s ever-evolving arsenal.

On a similar note, What Culture is also releasing details about the Dark Knight’s new cowl tech in the DCEU. The article doesn’t make it clear whether the tech is installed in both Batman’s standard Frank Miller-inspired grey suit – or just power armor the Caped Crusader will use to battle Superman. Either way, the report suggests that the inner-cowl is made of titanium (covered in sensory as well as processing tech) and includes a throat microphone to modulate Wayne’s voice – along with Google Glass-like lenses that display information over in-world visuals.
Given that modern versions of Batman lean heavily on “detective mode” features built into the cowl, it’s definitely possible that the titanium helmet fits under Batman’s standard cowl, not just the armored suit, in order to provide the vigilante with environmental data during combat and in-field investigations. Prior images of the cowl tech suggested that, in spite of its science fiction-inspired design, it wasn’t overly bulky or cumbersome – meaning the tech cowl might be standard-issue for even this fast-moving and flexible Batman.

No doubt, many of Batman V Superman‘s broad strokes have already been revealed but even these small details and world-building are interesting for DC comic lovers – meaning that the final product, even if fans can predict how the larger plot will play out, should still provide an intriguing other-world exploration of Batman and the people in his life (if absolutely nothing else). With just over a month left before the film hits theaters, it’s becoming increasingly tempting to avoid new details (many die-hard fans already are) – since we’ll soon know exactly how all the various pre-release info will come together in context.
We’ll keep you up to date as further information is unveiled but, one last thing, check out a glimpse at new Dawn of Justice posters, featuring Alfred and Lois Lane, below!

[h=1]Batman V Superman Promo: The Batmobile Unleashed[/h]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzCEC8X_DQk&feature=player_embedded

With as many different versions of Batman as there have been throughout the comics, various live-action and animated TV series, and movies, there have also been many different versions of the Batmobile. It is perhaps the most iconic vehicle in comic book history, and so it was no surprise when the first image to surface from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice was a tease of the newly-redesigned Batmobile from the movie.
Since then, the Batmobile has continued to play a large role in the various trailers that have been released for the film, including one particularly memorable scene from the final movie trailer in which Batman drives his heavily-armored car directly into the Man of Steel (with less-than-desirable results). One constant in the trailers, though, is that the Batmobile has taken a back seat to the actual flesh-and-blood actors from the movie… until now.
The foreign-language promo trailer above is the first that has put the Batmobile front and center. It is not a particularly long trailer, clocking in at just 10 seconds, but it does provide the opportunity for Batman’s vehicle of choice to finally take the spotlight for itself. It still features a shot of Batman in the driver’s seat, in case there was any question as to who was behind the wheel, and ends with a now-familiar banner image of Batman and Superman staring each other down, but for the most part this video is all about the wheels.
http://screenrant.com/wp-content/uploads/Batmobile-Batman-V-Superman-Specs-Details-Backstory.jpg

With the last full trailer for the movie being labeled the “final” trailer, it seems unlikely that there will be much in the way of additional footage from the movie released before it hits theaters in March. That may be a good thing, since some fans have been upset by what they see as an overabundance of spoilers in previous trailers. Still, as long as there is an international market there is the opportunity for short promos such as this one to hit the Internet and provide those desperate for anything Batman V Superman-related with an opportunity to catch an additional glimpse of what is to come.
For those who appreciate such opportunities, keep checking back with Screen Rant as the release date for Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice approaches.

[h=1]Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice Runtime Revealed[/h]

After months of Batman V Superman rumors and speculation, fans are finally getting concrete details in the final run-up to the highly anticipated DC Extended Universe movie. With just over one month to go (from the time of this writing), moviegoers are entering the last push of Batman V Superman marketing – as print publications have begun to run release month interviews and talk show programs have started announcing when viewers can expect Dawn of Justice cast members to drop by. As a result, after two years of carefully constructed marketing info drops, such as our first look at (sad) Batman and the new Batmobile, Warner Bros. is now at the mercy of their stars and crew – who will have to walk a very fine line between teasing the new film and outright spoiling any unrevealed twists.
However, as is often the case, the most interesting details don’t always come from people directly associated with a film – as third-party retailers and consumer services must prepare their products and systems for the rollout of a major film release. Today, AMC Theaters is the unofficial-official source of new Batman V Superman details: all but confirming the Dawn of Justice theatrical runtime.

The news comes in an update to the Batman V Superman database page at the online AMC Theaters ticket order page – which now shows a runtime of 2 hours and 31 minutes. At this time, the listing as yet to be confirmed by Warner Bros. or Zack Snyder, meaning that while it’s highly likely the studio has supplied theater chains with release information, and AMC updated their pages accordingly, it’s still possible that the 151 minute runtime is simply an estimated placeholder.
After all, with only one month to go, ticket sellers are, understandably, eager to start selling pre-order tickets for the Batman V Superman face-off/team-up film – which, while no official reviews have yet to hit, is sure to offer a nice bump in box office sales during an otherwise slower-paced pre-summer month. Given that Star Wars 7 offered-up pre-order tickets two months ahead of release, in an admittedly frustrating website-crashing opening of the floodgates, DC fans are eager to lock-in their tickets for opening weekend of “The greatest gladiator match in the history of the world: Son of Krypton versus Bat of Gotham.

The update to the AMC ticket page certainly suggests that pre-ordering is imminent – though, no official ticket sale date has been teased, yet. Still, as mentioned, it’s worth pointing out that just because AMC updated the page, doesn’t necessarily make the runtime official – since AMC could simply be updating the page ahead of their ticket pre-order launch. Video game fans endure similar teases, when Amazon and other online retailers list estimated release dates on pre-order pages – simply to get their systems ready (and pre-orders in) ahead of official information.
That said, with the movie so close to release, it would make sense that Warner Bros. has shared the runtime with theater chains – so that the theaters can begin planning their screening schedules. So, while we can’t say with 100% certainty that the 151 minute runtime is final – it’s very, very likely to be the case. Also worth noting, theater runtimes do not include pre-show ads or trailers. If the number is correct, it means Batman V Superman, itself, is 151 minutes long.

It’s also a believable length for a film that is attempting to do as much as Batman V Superman – which will not only deal with the controversial Man of Steel aftermath but will also introduce Batman, and his new cinematic backstory, as well as Lex Luthor, Wonder Woman, not to mention Alfred, Doomsday, and other supporting characters (The Flash, Aquaman, and Cyborg), plus set the stage for Justice League team-up. Early trailers for the film seemed to keep the focus relatively narrow, on the philosophical differences between Batman and Superman; yet, more recent trailers have suggested that Dawn of Justice is a huge film – with a lot of DCEU setup. So, while the 151 minute runtime might not be easy on moviegoers with small bladders, the film will (at the very least) have a significant amount of time to unpack and develop all of its central narrative threads.
Putting that number in perspective, Dawn of Justice will be 8 minutes longer than Snyder’s Man of Steel and Joss Whedon’s first Avengers movie (which both ran 143 minutes) but 3 minutes shorter than Brian Singer’s Superman Returns (154 minutes) and a full 14 minutes shorter than Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises (165 minutes). The film is also shorter than Snyder’s Watchmen adaptation which, depending on the “cut,” ran 162 minutes (theatrical release), 186 minutes (director’s cut), and 215 minutes (the ultimate cut with “Tales of the Black Freighter” included).

Of course, until we know what is actually covered in a film, runtimes don’t actually tell us much about the quality of a film; though a lengthy runtime does put more pressure on a filmmaker to deliver a worthy return on moviegoer time (and production money) invested. If Snyder packs his 151 minute runtime full of great character development, exciting action, and successfully lays the stage for the DCEU, most moviegoers will happily carve out 2.5 hours of their day to see the film. That said, Snyder (and the larger movie) could get in trouble if Batman V Superman doesn’t make good use of that time and, instead, stumbles through a lot of world-building without satisfying payoffs – both in action and character (a major criticism of Singer’s Superman Returns).
For the time being, only Warner Bros. knows the quality and/or shortcomings of Snyder’s Man of Steel follow-up/Justice League lead-in – and while industry chatter is beginning to build, and insiders are starting to make predictions, it won’t be too much longer before fans get to judge the film for themselves.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice
opens on March 25, 2016, which is followed by Suicide Squad on August 5, 2016; Wonder Woman on June 23, 2017; Justice League Part One on November 17, 2017; The Flash on March 16, 2018; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League Part Two on June 14, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps. on June 19, 2020.

Batman V Superman to Get R-Rated Blu-ray Release

When a movie has the sort of unprecedented success that Deadpool has had — now the highest grossing R-rated comic book film of all time — it’s bound to start a trend. What exactly that trend will be remains to be seen, but we and others — including Guardians of the Galaxy director, James Gunn — hope the trend is more superhero movies that are original and willing to take risks, and not movies that are rated R simply for the sake of it.
But regardless of whether or not Deadpool ushers in some raunchy superhero movie renaissance, the vast majority of superhero movies will remain in the PG to PG-13 window. That’s the case with 2016’s next superhero release: Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, in which the ‘Son of Krypton’ will do battle with the ‘Bat of Gotham’ in a brawl that comes with some very high expectations. However epic this superhero showdown may be, the film was obviously able to secure a PG-13 rating, so there’s a limit to just how brutal their fight can be.
Unless, by chance, there was an R-rated version of the film that potentially included scenes considered too violent for Batman V Superman‘s theatrical release, then we’d have some idea of just how brutal a fight between Superman and Batman could be. Which is exactly what is being suggested by these tweets from Disney scooper, Stitch Kingdom, that BvS‘s Blu-ray release will include an R-rated cut of the film:
A bulletin listing the MPAA’s recent film ratings further confirms an R-rated cut for the DC movie. Indeed, an R-rated cut of Batman V Superman doesn’t sound at all outrageous — quite the opposite, in fact, an R-rated cut of BvS is a brilliant idea. The theatrical cut remains PG-13 and available to a wider audience, while the R-rated cut of the film becomes a major incentive to buy the Blu-ray. It’s no secret that watching Superman and Batman trading blows is the real draw of BvS, so why wouldn’t Zack Snyder have spent the time making their fight as brutal and intense as he could, with plans to cut as needed to get that PG-13 rating.

Snyder has even already set a precedent for this practice. When the Ultimate Edition of Watchmen was released it featured an even harder R-rated cut, containing footage that was decidedly more mature for both its violence and sexual content. The same was recently true of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies Extended Edition Blu-ray, which earned the previously PG-13-rated film an R rating for violence. Why not plan on doing something similar for Batman V Superman‘s Ultimate Edition? According to the above clipping, BvS‘s R-rated cut also earns its rating for sequences of violence, which would make sense if Snyder filmed Batman and Superman’s rumble as the no holds barred match he’s been pitching all along.
Still, it’s hard not to draw a correlation between this report and Deadpool’s remarkable success, what with the potential for more R-rated superhero films being such a hot topic. Though again, if an R-rated cut of Batman V Superman does exist, Snyder would have obviously had to have already filmed the material that earns it an R. So, while Deadpool‘s record-breaking opening couldn’t have had any effect onBvS during filming, it easily could have Warner Bros. considering the idea (and the profits) of releasing an R-rated version at a later date.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice opens on March 25, 2016, which is followed by Suicide Squad on August 5, 2016; Wonder Woman on June 23, 2017; Justice League Part One on November 17, 2017; The Flash on March 16, 2018; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League Part Two on June 14, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps. on June 19, 2020.

Hmm...what's the point of R-rated release? If it's just for extra blood, i don't think it's worth it.
Unless it has F-bombs, and more abuses, and pure gore, which i doubt it, since it's a DC movie.

Batman v superman rumour: ben affleck did rewrites during filiming

Zack Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is right around the corner, and many people have been wondering about the potential quality of the film. It’s no secret that there’s a lot riding on its success. Warner Bros. is using the project as a launching point for the DC Extended Universe, already scheduling a complete slate of movies that goes until 2020. For their part, the studio remains confident they have a hit franchise; Snyder will start rolling the cameras on Justice League Part One this April, shortly after Batman V Superman hits theaters.
It’s all but a guarantee that Dawn of Justice will be a commercial smash – the most recent box office projections have it pegged for an opening weekend between $100 – $140 million – but the larger question is how people will respond to the actual product on the screen. Man of Steel proved to be divisive and became one of the most polarizing comic book movies in recent memory. With Snyder back at the helm for Batman V Superman, there are those concerned it will be more of the same, but everyone involved did what they could to ensure the film was as strong as it could be.

According to US Magazine, Ben Affleck handled some rewrites of the screenplay while production was ongoing. Apparently once he got dressed in his Batman suit, the Oscar winner would “sit around reworking the script.” The unnamed source indicated that Affleck “wasn’t thrilled with it” and would spend some time tweaking certain things before shooting commenced on multiple occasions.

As is the case with most things Batman V Superman, the source’s rumored report is sure to generate an impassioned response from fans – particularly the “wasn’t thrilled with it” part. However, it’s important to note that it’s not uncommon for major Hollywood blockbusters to undergo script rewrites during principal photography. Once the team is gathered on the set and has an opportunity to discuss things together, they could change some elements after getting a feel for the scene. In addition, Affleck did receive an Academy Award for co-writing Good Will Hunting and penned his acclaimed dramas Gone Baby Gone and The Town. His input was probably valued and encouraged, particularly if the plan is tohave him write and direct a solo Batman movie.
The magazine’s source does not specify the extent of the rewrites, but it’s safe to assume that Affleck did not do a complete overhaul of the script. Argo‘s Chris Terrio remains credited for the screenplay, doing such a great job that Batman V Superman cast members can’t stop raving about his work and WB wants him back to tackle the two-part Justice League event. It seems like anything Affleck contributed were minor edits to what was already there, perhaps an attempt to better emphasize a dramatic beat or particular theme. If Affleck’s rewrites were more substantial, it most likely would have been reported much earlier and been a larger story.
It’s arguably a positive sign that Affleck was involved with Batman V Superman in this capacity. Filmmaking is meant to be a collaborative process, and his résumé speaks for itself. In a way, it would have been a waste of Affleck’s talents to only use him as an actor, since his knowledge of the full craft runs deep. Getting an extra set of eyes on the script to fine tune the dialogue never hurts, especially when the weight of an entire franchise rests on the shoulders of a single movie.

he general confidence of fans in Batman V Superman’s quality is perhaps best reflected in the recent decision ofRegal Entertainment Group to issue an unlimited ticket. For $100, fans will be able to purchase the Regal Ultimate Ticket, allowing them unlimited admission to Batman V Superman for the movie’s entire run in all Regal theaters.

The anodized 0.5mm black stainless steel card showcases a laser-cut Batman symbol with a Superman glyph at its centre, which is visible on both sides and colorized on the card’s front. Recipients will receive their cards with their name permanently inscribed on the back and will be required to show proof of ID upon arrival at the theater – meaning the cards are not transferable. The card is also accepted for all Batman V Superman theatrical formats, so fans will be able to use it entirely in RPX or IMAX presentations, should they so desire. Only 1,000 of the cards have been produced and all will officially expire on September 24, 2016.
Initially, the idea of a card that allows audiences to gain unlimited access to such a highly anticipated movie is a pretty intriguing prospect. However, it doesn’t take long to realize there’s a pretty massive elephant in the room here – what if Batman V Superman is a dud? Imagine back in 1997, spending $100 for an unlimited ticket to see Joel Schumacher’s Batman & Robin because you were so convinced that it would be amazing. For people with money to burn, this is no big deal, but for others, doling out $100 on a movie sight unseen is a bit of a gamble.
If however, Batman V Superman coincides with the expectations of fans and analysts alike and becomes a massive hit, then perhaps unlimited access would be a real treat. At the very least, fans come away with the personalised, collectible card – something that some will see as justification enough for the card’s $100 price tag.

Consoles were my main platform ever since Atari 2500. But now I think it's not worth it as PC especially with DLSS deliver far smoother performance. AW2 on console didn't even had ray tracing and ran below 30fps. Similar issues plagues DD2 on consoled.
The cross gen era really made people think 60fps would be a new standard lol

Welp, done with Hellblade 2. Thoroughly disappointed. Such a nothing burger after the unique experience of the first game.

I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

It is indeed the worst generation by far.

Both PS and Xbox have been a flop this gen as they can barely maintain 30 fps in a lot of AAA games th.

As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

Gradually transitioning from console gaming to PC as the games are not worth it. 6 hours of Hellblade 2 is just not worth the $50 price tag.
Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.

Still, I don't like either Sony or Microsoft as they are focusing more on corporate greed than delighting customers. PC gaming is best of gaming and worth every penny.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.

About the Microsoft (and Sony) debate, I feel both have become too greedy and losing their minds over corporate greed. Personally, I will never buy any console next gen and switch to PC gaming where democracy reins.
