[h=1]Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 Officially Retitled by Disney[/h]

While every Marvel Studios movie seems to draw high levels of fan interest and anticipation, the clear titans of the MCU are the Avengers films: 2012’s The Avengers and 2015’sAvengers: Age of Ultron. Sitting at #1 and #2 respectively on the all-time MCU box office chart, Avengers and Age of Ultron – both directed by Joss Whedon – managed to finally realize fans’ dreams of what grand scale superhero team-up movies could be, containing breathtaking action while also incorporating multiple characters in a way balanced enough to allow all of them to shine at various points.
Despite the fact that this summer’s Captain America: Civil War sort of functioned as an “Avengers 2.5” in the eyes of many, the next true Avengers smackdown isn’t until 2018, with the first half of Joe and Anthony Russo’s Avengers: Infinity War duology. Finally featuring the introduction of intergalactic arch-villain Thanos to the Avengers fray, the Infinity War two-parter seems likely to take the MCU to even more spectacular heights, while hopefully somehow still managing to balance an even larger roster of heroes than before.

While 2018 remains a long way off, Disney clearly feels that it’s never too early to start planning ahead, and have opted to take a step forward in the aesthetic construction of Infinity War. Deadline reports, in a move the Russos previously suggested would eventually be coming, Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 has been officially retitled simply Avengers: Infinity War. Avengers: Infinity War Part 2’s title is currently in a state of flux, with the studio calling it only Untitled Avengers for the moment. Based on Marvel’s titling patterns, it’s likely the fourth Avengers film will ultimately receive a different subtitle than Infinity War.

Of course, planning ahead has become one of the hallmarks of Marvel Studios, with the company having long since planned out its release schedule through 2019, and already having carved out release dates for as yet undetermined MCU films in 2020.
Marvel Studios is truly a well-oiled machine at this point, with new characters being introduced into the mix every year, and previously off-limits icons like Spider-Man now firmly in the fold. One might not think that a foul-mouthed talking racoon and a sentient tree would be viable figures on which to base a blockbuster, but Marvel did it with gusto, to the point where a sequel starring that duo is soon to arrive. At this stage, each new MCU installment is expected to generate hundreds of millions of dollars in profit – with each Avengers film earning $1 billion at the box office.
So, considering the strength of the Avengers brand, it’s likely both Avengers: Infinity War and Untitled Avengers are likely to be two more hits for Marvel Studios. But, that remains to be seen when their 2018 and 2019 release dates finally arrive.
Doctor Strange opens November 4, 2016; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – May 5, 2017; Spider-Man: Homecoming – July 7, 2017; Thor: Ragnarok – November 3, 2017; Black Panther – February 16, 2018; Avengers: Infinity War – May 4, 2018; Ant-Man and the Wasp – July 6, 2018; Captain Marvel– March 8, 2019; Untitled Avengers – May 3, 2019; and as-yet untitled Marvel movies on July 12, 2019, and on May 1, July 10, and November 6 in 2020.

[h=1]Civil War Writers Offer Avengers 3 & 4 Script Status Update[/h]

One of the best parts of the Marvel cinematic experience is that all of the individual movies form a whole story, which will ultimately culminate in the next two Avengers films. These two chapters of the larger MCU saga were originally titled Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 & 2, at Marvel’s celebration at the El Capitan in 2014. Since then, though, the studio simplified its plan by making them two standalone films, with only the first movie retaining the Avengers: Infinity War title. However, regardless of names, these movies are very real and are coming to theaters relatively soon.
Screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely are no newbies to the Marvel cinematic universe. They first cut their teeth on Captain America: The First Avenger before crafting two of the more critically successful films in the studio’s library, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War, with directors Joe and Anthony Russo.
The writers are now facing the biggest challenge of their careers in creating a satisfying ending to the entire first three phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In a recent interview with Yahoo! Movies, the prolific writers gave an update on their progress.

“We’re many drafts in. We’re on the third draft of movie one and the second draft of movie two. [We’re writing them in tandem] as much as we can. On any given day, you’re only working on one but that doesn’t mean that next week, you aren’t working on the other one. And certainly, notes are coming in and all sorts of production stuff is coming in, like for instance, ‘that thing over there is now a window not a door so adjust that.’ Or, ‘we’re not going to this town now, we’re going to this town.’ That kind of stuff happens constantly and will continue to happen for the next few months. “

By the third draft of a script, typically the general framework of the upcoming movie has been created. Which should give the concept artists, production designers, pre-visualization wizards, and location scouts, a general direction when attempting to bring Markus, McFeely, and the Russos’ vision to life. However, with movies like Black Panther and Captain Marvel still in the writing phase as well, they all have to stay very fluid and willing to adapt until the scripts have solidified.
Markus and McFeely have an extraordinary task at hand; while these two Avengers films are being touted as standalone, they are still going to be very much connected.

“When we lock ourselves in a room with the Russo brothers and a couple of execs from Marvel, one wall has cards for movie one and the other wall has cards for movie two and another wall has little baseball cards of every character still alive in the Marvel universe – down to Darcy’s boyfriend in Thor 2 – literally, anybody who did not die and has been established as alive. And then we looked at that began to shuffle the cards around. So basically, the big scene is when Darcy’s boyfriend and Galactus get together and….[laughs]. “

This is the MCU and the effects of the next team-up movie will certainly carry over to the Avengers movie, particularly with the involvement of Thanos and the presumed death of several Marvel heroes, if the comic books or actor’s contracts are any indication. This gives the writers the enormous pressure of doing justice to so many beloved characters and franchises. On the other hand, they have the freedom of kids in a sandbox to make up the next great Marvel adventure, while also being the first writers to have the entire MCU at their disposal.
It’s also a little hard to get past the “Galactus” comment, particularly with all of the Fox and Marvel rumors surrounding the Fantastic Four, but they clarified the comment by saying it was in jest. It’s best not to dwell on it, but don’t necessarily forget about it.
This past May, the screenwriters proved they know how to script conflict and understand how to match up superheroes whose abilities complement and contrast one another. The battle between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark, two extraordinary human beings, was indeed a Civil War. However, the next Avengers battle will be the Infinity War, which signals a battle with endless possibilities. Hopefully in these final drafts, Markus and McFeely, along with the Russo Bros and the Marvel Studios’ braintrust, find the best possible conclusion to a literal universe of stories.
Doctor Strange opens November 4, 2016; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – May 5, 2017; Spider-Man: Homecoming– July 7, 2017; Thor: Ragnarok – November 3, 2017; Black Panther – February 16, 2018; Avengers: Infinity War – May 4, 2018; Ant-Man and the Wasp – July 6, 2018; Captain Marvel– March 8, 2019; Avengers 4 – May 3, 2019; and as-yet untitled Marvel movies on July 12, 2019, and on May 1, July 10, and November 6 in 2020.

[h=1]Avengers: Sebastian Stan’s Winter Soldier Returning For Infinity War[/h]

As Marvel Studios progresses through Phase 3 of their shared cinematic universe, it would appear that everything is building up to an epic showdown with the Mad Titan himself, Thanos, in 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War (as it has recently been titled). With the villain wielding the power of the Infinity Stones in his gauntlet, it’s going to take an army to stop him, and a typical roster of Avengers may not be enough to get the job done. It shouldn’t come as any surprise that Infinity War is expected to feature one of the largest ensembles in any Marvel film.
Infinity War writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have said that during the scripting process, they are working with walls of cards that detail every single MCU character that is alive at this point in time. It would seem that just about anyone fans can think of is fair game, and it’s now been confirmed that Sebastian Stan will reprise Bucky Barnes in the highly-anticipated sequel.
The news comes courtesy of THR, who while reporting Stan’s involvement with the project We Have Always Lived in the Castle, reported that the actor will be filming Infinity War in early 2017. Given that Stan agreed to a nine-picture deal when he signed on for 2014’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier, it isn’t any surprise that the studio is planning on bringing him back for what should be their biggest film yet.

It will be fascinating to see how Barnes is incorporated in future MCU installments. Captain America: Civil War illustrated that he views himself as a serious threat to society due to being brainwashed by Hydra years ago. At the end of that film, he opts for cryogenic sleep in the nation of Wakanda (with asylum granted by Black Panther) until a cure for his condition is discovered. There’s a chance Barnes has a role in the Black Panther standalone movie, which opens in theaters roughly three months before Infinity War. Though Stan was not part of the cast that assembled during Marvel’s Hall H panel at Comic-Con, there’s still plenty of time before principal photography begins.
Given that Civil War also dropped some bombshell revelations about Barnes’ past, his dynamic with other Avengers members (namely, Tony Stark) should provide Infinity War with some compelling drama as well. In all likelihood, Bucky won’t be a primary focus of the narrative like he was in the last two Captain America films, but he should still have a satisfying arc as he proves that he can be a hero – despite his earlier transgressions. It’s always a challenge for filmmakers to give each character sizable screen time in a sprawling piece such as this, and there will surely be those who draw the short straw. However, Bucky’s story has a lot of material for Markus and McFeely to sift through.
With directors Joe and Anthony Russo aiming to start production next year, news on the Infinity War cast should come out in the near future. There’s no telling how many heroes will take part in the event, and every moviegoer has their own favorite they’re hoping to see. Marvel is looking to begin a new era with Phase 4, so Infinity War is essentially the conclusion of an entire chapter in the franchise’s history. Hopefully, it lives up to that billing.

[h=1]Guardians of the Galaxy Will Be In 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War[/h]

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 wrapped principal photography in Atlanta and is currently in post-production with plenty of time before the film opens the summer 2017 movie season with a May release date. While it has yet to be announced, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is arguably the safest bet of any of the untitled 2020-21 movies Marvel Studios has already scheduled for Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
It’s no secret that fans will get to see the Guardians in between the two installments however, since they will have a part in Avengers: Infinity War, a title that previously represented both entries of a previously announced two-part event movie, releasing in 2018 and 2019. That has since changed with Avengers 3 solely taking the subtitle of “Infinity War” and thanks to the voice of Groot (Vin Diesel) we can confirm that the Guardians of the Galaxy will indeed be in that first 2018 Avengers movie.
In a Facebook live stream, Vin Diesel – who has the single most popular page on the platform with over 100 million followers – spoke again about being grateful to fans (in light of recent events between a reported feud between him and The Rock on the set of Fast 8) and continued to hype up the upcoming xXx: Return of Xander Cage, but also teased what fans have been waiting for: The Avengers meeting Marvel’s Cosmic Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy.

“Next year you’ve got Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 coming and that whole concept started from you all saying ‘when are you gonna be in a Marvel movie?’ And you remember the first picture after that Marvel meeting that I had where I was standing [with] the Avengers thing in the back – some of you can look up that picture…there was this old Avengers copy that was behind me in that picture if you look back on my Facebook page you can find that.
What’s gonna be surreal is that picture is going to come to pass because now the Guardians will be included in Avengers: Infinity War and that’s incredibly exciting. Incredibly exciting. Incredibly exciting and something that if you were a part of our page you knew before everybody.”
The photo Diesel’s referring to was from July 9, 2013, taken within Marvel offices:

And since then, the actor/producer has shared numerous shots of Groot or of him standing beside the Hulk – so count on each team’s “muscle” finally having the chance to meet each other on screen in a few years. It’s not a surprise given that Avengers 3-4 directors Anthony and Joe Russo, along with writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, have been openly discussing their excitement over using the Guardians of the Galaxy characters but now we can say for certain they most definitely will be involved in both Avengers: Infinity War and whatever they end up naming Avengers 4 (our ideas here).
And you can count on Captain Marvel showing up too!
[h=2]More: Guardians of the Galaxy 3 On the Way[/h]Starring Bradley Cooper, Chris Pratt, Chris Sullivan, Dave Bautista, Elizabeth Debicki, Glenn Close, Karen Gillan, Kurt Russell, Michael Rooker, Nathan Fillion, Pom Klementieff, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone, Tommy Flanagan, Vin Diesel, and Zoe Saldana.
Doctor Strange opens November 4, 2016; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – May 5, 2017; Spider-Man: Homecoming– July 7, 2017; Thor: Ragnarok – November 3, 2017; Black Panther – February 16, 2018;Avengers: Infinity War – May 4, 2018; Ant-Man and the Wasp – July 6, 2018; Captain Marvel– March 8, 2019; Avengers 4 – May 3, 2019; and as-yet untitled Marvel movies on July 12, 2019, and on May 1, July 10, and November 6 in 2020.

[h=1]Avengers: Infinity War Plot Details Reportedly Revealed[/h]

Phase 3 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has only just begun with Captain America: Civil War kicking things off in May. While excitement levels are high for Doctor Strange, the next film up on the docket, it is nothing in comparison to what fans everywhere are hoping for Avengers: Infinity War. Even though there are still five films between viewers and the next Avengers installment, production kicks off in Atlanta near the end of the year, with Josh Brolin already on set running through rehearsals.
There has been plenty of intrigue in the story for Infinity War and how it will reflect what has so far happened in the MCU and what is still to come, but there has not been many reports regarding what is in store for the plot. That has seemingly begun to change as of today, with a new report pointing towards a different Avengers comic run as a reference point.

LRM has decided to reveal what they are hearing is the plot for Infinity War, which reportedly will draw a lot of concepts from the Infinity Gauntlet storyline in the comics. According to LRM’s report, Thanos will be gathering the Infinity Stones, which has proven to be a tougher task for the Mad Titan than he may have initially thought. The reasoning for this is his desire to impress Death, and will do so by rampaging the galaxy to collect enough souls to please her. This means that the literal incarnation of Death will make her debut in Infinity War.

This report is none too surprising with many fans already thinking something along these plot points would be explored during the movie. If Thanos is in fact going to assemble all six Infinity Stones during this movie, it does point to the quickly approaching death of Vision, who is powered by the Mind Stone. This has been something fans have been hoping to put off until possibly the end of Infinity War, but Thanos will need every stone to operate the glove at full power, which means Vision’s days are numbered.
LRM also touches on a theory that Cate Blanchett’s Hela from Thor: Ragnarok could double as Death in the MCU, but they were not able to either confirm or debunk that theory. As the leader of Hell, it would make sense for Marvel Studios to make Hela and Death the same being as to not confuse audiences. Plus, Blanchett is one of the most prestigious actresses in Hollywood so hopefully she does not have a small role in the MCU. Having her be introduced as Hela in Ragnarok, only to reveal she is also Death would set her up for another movie or two and give the universe another recurring villain to use.
While these reports and theories are fun, none of this is officially confirmed at this point, even if it does seem to line up. Marvel Studios has not always done straight adaptations from comic runs before so even if the general story is based around the Infinity Gauntlet comic run, expect them to make some changes of their own.
Doctor Strange opens November 4, 2016; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – May 5, 2017; Spider-Man: Homecoming– July 7, 2017; Thor: Ragnarok – November 3, 2017; Black Panther – February 16, 2018;Avengers: Infinity War – May 4, 2018; Ant-Man and the Wasp – July 6, 2018; Captain Marvel– March 8, 2019; Untitled Avengers– May 3, 2019; and as-yet untitled Marvel movies on July 12, 2019, and on May 1, July 10, and November 6 in 2020.

[h=1]Benedict Cumberbatch Confirms Doctor Strange’s Return for Infinity War[/h]

Marvel Studios is fresh off their biggest film yet in Captain America: Civil War, a movie that featured twelve super powered people fighting one another. If viewers thought this was the maximum number of heroes that they could fit in a single film, Avengers: Infinity War and the currently Untitled Avengers sequel will be quite the surprise. The former two-part epic will bring together all corners of the MCU films (with speculation still hopeful for TV characters as well), undoubtedly featuring the largest cast for an MCU film yet in the process.
As if it was not enough to bring together the likes of Iron Man, Star-Lord, Cap, Vision, Thor, Hulk, and countless others, the movie(s) could also present brand new characters to the audience. When it comes to bulking up the defense team to Thanos’ reported plan, it is now confirmed that the Sorcerer Supreme himself will be involved.

Benedict Cumberbatch spoke to Empire (via Express UK) about Avengers: Infinity War and confirmed that Doctor Strange will be taking part in the ensemble. This means that Cumberbatch will be making his way to Atlanta near the end of the year to begin on the nine month shoot – which he may not be needed for entirely. The Russo brothers will be filming both movies out of order to capitalize on which actors are on set, with Cumberbatch telling Empire there is a “logistical challenge of aligning his schedule with those of Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany.” Even though it is a challenge, the actor is looking forward to the journey.
To get us all together will be quite something. That’s why this character is being introduced, to open up the next chapter… So watch this space to see how that unfolds.

It is not a shock to know that Strange will be in Infinity War and likely the sequel as well, but it does make it interesting as to how he will become acquainted with the larger universe. Once he makes his debut in Doctor Strange, he will certainly know of the Avengers and the potential allegiance that could be formed. There have so far been no indications of how his solo film connects to the larger MCU, so don’t be surprised if the post-credit scene does that job with a cameo from another MCU star potentially.
If that is not the case, then maybe Strange will cameo in Thor: Ragnarok after all, despite what director Taika Waititi says. Thor’s journey is to learn more about the Infinity Stones and Thanos’ impending attack, and Strange could potentially be a big help. After all, speculation has continued to point to Strange’s Eye of Agomotto as potentially being one of the final two Infinity Stones, and if Thor knows of this, then a warning could be in store. However Marvel decides to connect Strange to the larger MCU, it just exciting to know for certain that he will be in the biggest Marvel film ever.

Doctor Strange
opens November 4, 2016; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 – May 5, 2017; Spider-Man: Homecoming– July 7, 2017; Thor: Ragnarok – November 3, 2017; Black Panther – February 16, 2018;Avengers: Infinity War – May 4, 2018; Ant-Man and the Wasp – July 6, 2018; Captain Marvel– March 8, 2019; Untitled Avengers – May 3, 2019; and as-yet untitled Marvel movies on July 12, 2019, and on May 1, July 10, and November 6 in 2020.

[h=1]Avengers: Infinity War Rumored To Have Sizable Role For Star-Lord[/h]

Earlier this year, Marvel Studios gave fans a dose of the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with 12 heroes not only being included in Captain America: Civil War, but also fighting each other. For the time being, this is the biggest ensemble yet in a superhero movie, but Marvel will top themselves sooner rather than later. Avengers: Infinity War will be the culmination of the MCU to this point and so far almost every hero has been confirmed to appear. From mainstays such as Iron Man, Cap, Thor, Hulk, and Black Widow to others such as Doctor Strange and the Guardians, it seems as though just about everybody will be on hand to stop Thanos.
With the Guardians becoming a bigger part of the MCU, that means Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, Drax, Gamora, and Groot will get to interact with the Avengers and others. While they first have to deal with Peter’s lineage and potentially the Elders in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the latest rumor points to Star-Lord having a substantial role for Infinity War and possibly beyond.

Schmoes Know is on a quest this week to spill the beans on upcoming Marvel properties and they have now turned their attention to Infinity War. According to their latest report, Star-Lord will have a “sizable” role “as the Avengers join up with him as they take on a new cosmic threat.” Star-Lord’s appearance is no surprise after it already being confirmed by the Russo brothers, not to mention Vin Diesel confirming the entire Guardians squad will be going into battle.

Star-Lord being one of the main players in Infinity War makes sense to help combine two corners of the universe together. The events of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will likely open the doors to the Guardians becoming more aware of what else is happening in the galaxy. Although there will be no Thanos or Infinity Stones, the inclusion of one of the galaxy’s oldest beings that also happens to be Star-Lord’s father will likely know more about Thanos.
Fans will most likely be overjoyed by more of Chris Pratt in the MCU and seeing him interact with the rest of the heroes, but how exactly him and the Guardians become more involved remains to be seen. Regardless of how or why the Guardians become involved with saving Earth (and the galaxy) it will be something memorable to witness. Even if this report proves to be untrue, Star-Lord will have a role in Infinity War and likely in the follow up as well.
Doctor Strange opens November 4, 2016; Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.

[h=1]Kevin Feige Says Avengers: Infinity War Features Illuminati Characters[/h]

The entire Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to turn on its head next month, with the release of the studio’s fourteenth film in their growing library of superhero films. Over the course of the past nine years, Marvel has taken audiences from the caves of the Middle East in Iron Man to the farthest reaches of space in Guardians of the Galaxy. Now they are prepared to take audiences into the hidden world of magic and mysticism, with Doctor Strange.
Marvel recently had the premiere for Doctor Strange and there has been a growing buzz that the film may be another home run for the studio. Many of the journalists who were attendance at the premiere have claimed that the movie has some of the best visuals and action sequences in any MCU film – something that should only increase anticipation for the Sorcerer Supreme.
At a subsequent press conference in Los Angeles, the Doctor Strange cast, director Scott Derrickson and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige were on hand to answer questions about Doctor Strange and the greater MCU. When Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch was asked about the possibility of seeing the Illuminati in Avengers: Infinity War, he chose to deflect the question to Feige, who then offered this juicy tease:

Well, what’s fun about the Illuminati is that there are certain characters interacting with other certain characters, so I don’t know about that particular storyline, but certainly some of those characters you will see on screen in the next Avengers.

In the comics, the Illuminati are a clandestine organization that’s run by some of the most powerful and brilliant minds in the Marvel Comics’ universe. The members have included Iron Man, Professor X, Black Panther, Namor, Mr. Fantastic, Black Bolt, and of course Doctor Strange. The group was initially the brainchild of Tony Stark, who enlisted the help of Black Panther (who would eventually withdraw his participation) to assemble the heads of various superhero teams into a cohesive unit, in response to extraterrestrial threats. It morphed into a secret society of Marvel leaders, who would ultimately influence the future of the planet.
Marvel is known for taking inspiration from their source material, but also for not replicating their stories beat for beat on-screen. Huge comic storylines such as “Age of Ultron” and “Civil War” have made their way to movie theaters, albeit in much different forms than they are found on the page. It’s no secret that Marvel Studios doesn’t own the theatrical rights to many of the members of the Illuminati in the comics (for now). So we certainly shouldn’t expect to see Professor X or Mr. Fantastic appear in Avengers: Infinity War. However, the pieces (Tony Stark, T’Challa, and Stephen Strange) are there for directors Anthony and Joe Russo to play with, if needed.
It’s unclear where Stark will be mentally by the time Infinity War arrives, though he has never been afraid to be proactive. Judging from Feige’s quote, its easy to imagine how a conversation with Strange in Avengers: Infinity War would expand Stark’s mind (and paranoia) for the larger unseen threats coming to the MCU. Since Black Panther’s first solo film will have been released before Infinity War arrives, his significance in the MCU should be amplified by then too. Unless we are introduced to a new member of the MCU like Black Bolt or Namor soon, the comments seem to indicate that we can expect to see some combination of Strange, T’Challa, and Stark, sharing a scene.

[h=1]Avengers: Infinity War Working Title Revealed[/h]

It’s common for movies to be produced under a working title, a code name that is often meant to disguise the production or act as a placeholder for the movie’s real title before it is determined. Avengers: Infinity War, on the other hand, is already known as the name of the highly anticipated sequel, but now the production’s cover may have been blown.
The fourth Avengers movie will have a different subtitle from Infinity War, but with the third movie still in pre-production it is not even in need of a working title. Plenty of rumored details of Infinity War, have trickled out and it’s been speculated as to how the Avengers would reunite and what kind of role that Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) would play in the sequel, but what no longer needs speculating on is the movie’s working title.
Production Weekly has reported (via ComicBook.com) that Avengers: Infinity War is operating under the working title “Mary Lou.” The original Avengers was produced under the working title “Group Hug,” while Avengers: Age of Ultron had the working title “After Party.” What “Mary Lou” means to the production of Infinity War or the Marvel Cinematic Universe, if anything at all, is anyone’s guess.

Since the fourth Avengers movie remains untitled, you can expect that movie to have a different working title, even though the sequels will be filmed together. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige recently said that the two movies will each feature their own separate plots and won’t necessarily be two parts of one story, so it would make sense for the as-yet untitled Avengers sequel to function as a separate production in terms of its working title.
Little is definitively known about Infinity War or the fourth Avengers movie, so it’s practically impossible to glean any sort of meaning from “Mary Lou” as its working title. It could very well mean nothing and exist as merely a red herring to prevent outside entities from uncovering “Mary Lou” as one of the MCU’s major productions. The working title is no longer a secret, but its meaning could forever remain a mystery.
“Mary Lou” will certainly invite a wealth of speculation among fans, especially as there are such scarce plot details about the movie available at this point. That could all prove to be a waste of time, as the working title could be effectively meaningless. But the Illuminati could be involved in Infinity War, so even the most harmless-looking details may turn out to have hidden significance. It’s likely that you’ll have to wait until Infinity War’s release to see if “Mary Lou” has any meaning at all.

[h=1]Jeremy Renner Promises ‘Exciting Stuff’ in Avengers: Infinity War[/h]

The Marvel Cinematic Universe just received another new addition to its growing canon with Doctor Strange, and even with four more movies standing between audiences and Avengers: Infinity War, excitement for the culmination of this universe continues to grow with each installment. Following the events of his solo outing, Strange is left in the position to potentially play a large role in the MCU moving forward and will get the chance to interact with many of the other familiar faces of the universe in his next few appearances. While most fans are anxious to see him and his fellow facial hair bro Tony Stark appear together, the door is open for all characters, Hawkeye included.
Jeremy Renner will once again be back as the sharpshooting archer, which could once again leave him wondering how a guy with a bow and arrow is supposed to match up with Thanos. While the answer to this question remains to be seen, he is teasing exciting things are in the works for Infinity War, especially for Hawkeye.
He was recently interviewed by HeyUGuys to promote his upcoming role in the potential Oscar contending sci-fi film Arrival but was asked about, presumably, the next time he will be playing the character. For obvious reasons, Renner would not and could not say specifically what is in store for Clint Barton, but is teasing “exciting stuff” is in store.

If I knew anything, I still couldn’t tell you. But I don’t know anything. I know there’s Infinity Wars, I know Avengers 3 and 4 are happening. But I don’t know outside of my involvement or anything else. I can’t tell you! What if I’m dead in the first one? I don’t know. I might already be dead. … I know the talks [about] what it’s about sounded fantastic. The Russo brothers have got some really great ideas and they’re following certain parts of Infinity Wars. There’s some really exciting stuff for a lot of the characters, especially with… what they’re thinking about doing with Hawkeye especially, I’m pretty excited about.

Renner’s enthusiasm is hopefully genuine and not just praise for his next film, as Hawkeye has so far not been given the most important roles in previous MCU films. That said, he remains a founding member of the Avengers and a recurring hero in the universe, no matter how many times he retires. Hawkeye’s current whereabouts are unknown, but with Cap and Bucky making the journey to Wakanda at the end of Captain America: Civil War, the rest of Cap’s secret team could be there as well. If that is the case, the highly technologically advanced country may be able to figure out some new tricks to give Hawkeye that will help him out in his next battle.
Hawkeye is unlikely to be a leading man in either Avengers: Infinity War or the followup, Untitled Avengers, but he should still get his moments to shine. Directors Joe and Anthony Russo and writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely showed in Civil War they can construct a film that gives each character a purpose and a memorable moment, so the idea that they are getting more characters is certainly exciting. How they weave together all these characters will continue to be closely held to Marvel’s proverbial chest, but Renner’s comments are sure to only further raise expectations for not only Hawkeye, but every other character in Avengers: Infinity War.

[h=1]Avengers: Infinity War Filming Begins Next Month[/h]

Infinity stones have slowly been making their way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The first, known as the space stone, showed up Captain America: The First Avenger, but was better known as the Tesseract. Second, fans were introduced to the mind stone inside Loki’s staff from The Avengers (the stone now sits atop Vision’s head). Sif inadvertently gave the reality stone to The Collector at the end of Thor: The Dark World. Star Lord found the power stone in Guardians of the Galaxy, and the time stone (Eye of Agamatto) was just recently introduced in Doctor Strange. With only one stone unaccounted for, the soul stone, Avengers: Infinity War looks to bring them all together, finally completing the Infinity Gauntlet.
As noted above, with one stone still missing, Marvel is running out of films in which to introduce the last piece of the puzzle. Up next in their intricately planned release schedule will be Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2; but director James Gunn has said the film does not include Thanos or the stones. That leaves Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok, and Black Panther before the next Avengers film. With Spider-Man production having recently wrapped filming at Pinewood Studios in Atlanta, its plot does not look like a good fit for Infinity Stones.
But perhaps there’s some bit of magic to filming in Atlanta, Georgia because two more Marvel properties will be calling the busy Pinewood Studios home shortly. According to CB, Omega Underground has posted updated production notices for both Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War under their production working titles of Motherland and Mary Lou Parts 1 & 2, respectively. The notice states Infinity War is slated to begin production on January 23, 2017 at Hollywood’s newest go-to stage, while also listing London as a filming location for the next big team-up film.

Little is known about what to expect with Avengers: Infinity War, and what few details we have found don’t offer much. We know that Thanos is on the hunt for all the Infinity Stones and that the Guardians will feature prominently in the film. With five stones accounted for, the best bet for locating the sixth stone lies within Thor: Ragnarok even though no one at Marvel has confirmed such a theory. With Avengers: Infinity War and Black Panther likely sharing some overlap in filming, does that mean we can expect more of the characters from each film to crossover?
Pinewood Atlanta has been home to several Marvel productions over the last few years, and it’s a trend that looks to continue most likely due to lucrative tax credits from the state of Georgia. The city of Atlanta is home to several major film and TV productions like The Walking Dead, Furious 7, Divergent: Insurgent, and two Hunger Games installments just to name a few.
Avengers: Infinity War begins shooting at Pinewood Studios Atlanta on January 23, 2017.

[h=1]Avengers: Infinity War Casting Call Confirms Captain Marvel & More[/h]

Marvel Studios kicked off Phase 3 in stunning fashion by bringing 12 superheroes together on screen at the same time, resulting in one of the biggest fight sequences in cinema history. Well, if directors Joe and Anthony Russo thought constructing a sequence with that many characters was tough, it is hard to imagine just how difficult a task it will be to bring seemingly every character in the MCU together in Avengers: Infinity War and the follow-up, Untitled Avengers. The former two part films have been touted as being the culmination of the universe to this point, ushering in a new wave of headline heroes, while at the same time potentially killing off some memorable ones.
Fans are already excited to see Cap, Iron Man, Doctor Strange, and the Guardians of the Galaxy interact with one another, but there is also the chance that this could be introduction to brand new heroes. Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel is highly anticipated in particular, and thanks to a new casting call for Infinity War, it appears that she and a few other characters have now been confirmed to appear.

Movie Casting Call (via Omega Underground) has posted a new casting call for the film that features what appears to be the main cast of Infinity War. Listed in the large group is none other than Brie Larson. If casting call is strictly for Infinity War, it confirms that she will be making her debut in some capacity before her solo film debuts in 2019. Meanwhile, additional members of the Guardians may have been confirmed as well with it including Karen Gillan as Nebula.

Casting calls can sometimes indicate who will be appearing in the movie, but they have also led to some false information in the past. However, with Infinity War set to officially begin production next month, casting calls that are coming out so close to production should be working with accurate information.
While it has heavily been speculated that Larson would debut in Infinity War in some form before Captain Marvel, this would be the first true statement that it is happening. Now the question will become whether she is simply Carol Danvers before she gets her powers, or if she will be a fully powered hero. There have been indications in the past that her solo movie would be dealing with her origin causing them to re-work the comic version. So if Larson is set to debut in Infinity War, fans should not be expecting her to suit up just yet.
That said, the potential confirmation that Nebula will also be joining the fight makes sense. The character is going to become a true member of the team in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and definitely has some hatred directed towards Thanos. If joining this fight is her only chance to potentially stop him, it would be odd for her not to take it. It should also be noted that Nebula plays a big role in the Infinity Gauntlet storyline that these movies could follow, which could then make Nebula’s appearance even more important.

[h=1]Avengers: Infinity War Casting for Tall & Slender Aliens[/h]

With production set to start soon on the back-to-back filming of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4, little details about the upcoming films (and specifically Infinity War) are coming to light through casting calls. Perhaps one of the biggest so far was the apparent confirmation of Captain Marvel in Infinity War, though other details are also spilling out.
The latest casting call for the film is seeking actors of a particular build to play aliens in the movie. Unfortunately, the details provided in the call don’t necessarily do much to narrow down which aliens are being used for the film.
The casting call, which was reported by Project Casting, is looking for both men and women who appear to be between 18 and 50 to play “aliens” for a “fun background role” in the film. The actors specifically need to be tall, and have a slender or athletic build. All ethnicities are encouraged to apply, though makeup and prosthetics will be used to create the alien look. The full casting call description reads as follows:

****FEATURE FILM****Mary Lou****Aliens*****
*Flexible Schedule Required*
**Fayetteville, GA**

Aliens: We are now taking submissions to be considered for a fun background role on this upcoming movie. Looking for men and women, all ethnicities, who appear 18 – 50’s, who are TALL with a SLENDER or athletic build. MUST be comfortable being PAINTED (including on your face & any exposed body parts). Also looking for people willing to have prosthetics applied to their face, in addition to being painted. Bumps will be provided for makeup & prosthetic applications.

Filming is tentatively scheduled for April 5 & May 30- must be available for BOTH days with no conflicts. Must have an open & flexible schedule as you will be needed for multiple wardrobe fittings & makeup tests prior to the film dates.
If you fit the above description & have a FLEXIBLE schedule, send an email to [email protected] with “ALIEN” in the subject line. Include your name, phone number, sizes & current photo(s).
A request for tall, slender aliens doesn’t really narrow down the specific race, given how many alien races have appeared at one point or another in Marvel’s comics. Some have suggested that the aliens may be part of an army that Thanos controls, but this may not be the case; the casting call is trying to fill extras for a “fun” role, which makes it sound more like something from just some off-world setting where the actors will appear in the background behind some of the film’s stars. It’s possible that the casting call is to fill background characters for a race that fans would recognize such as the Kree, but it’s just as likely that the characters will be more like generic “aliens” from no specific notable “race.”
If nothing else, the casting call at least gives a date for when filming of the scenes with these aliens is likely to occur. Hopefully, more light may be shed on the aliens and the scenes that they appear in closer to those dates.
Screen Rant will have more details for you on The Avengers: Infinity War as they are made available.

Is Liv Tyler Returning as Betty Ross for Avengers: Infinity War?

Marvel Studios has had an impeccable run since they founded the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2008. They’ve launched countless franchises worthy of sequels, but the often forgotten addition to the lore was The Incredible Hulk. Much of this is thanks to actor Mark Ruffalo replacing Edward Norton as the hero, Bruce Banner, but the universe has slowly started to tie even this film into the larger world. The most recent example of this was the surprising return of William Hurt as General Thunderbolt Ross in Captain America: Civil War. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been a peep about the return of Liv Tyler’s Betty Ross (the General’s daughter and Banner’s love interest) since she first appeared.
If there had to be a film where Betty was most likely to make a comeback, it would most likely be Avengers: Infinity War. The Marvel films are only becoming more and more connected, and the Avengers threequel is expected to be the biggest of them all, joining characters from all of the disparate corners of the MCU. Now a new report is suggesting that Betty Ross may, in fact, be among them.
Daily Record UK (via MCUExchange) wrote an article about the impact that filming of Infinity War would have on the Scottish economy, and when they went to list some of the cast members, Liv Tyler was included. Considering she has not previously been linked as returning, this is surprising news should it be true. Daily Record does not definitely report that they know she is returning but include her addition as if it had been reported before.

Should this report turn out to be true, confirmation on this could appear in the coming months as filming begins. That said, this report is hardly confirmation and reads more like speculation than actual reporting. Then again, everyone from Kevin Feige to the Russo brothers have made the point that Infinity War will be a culmination of the MCU to this point, and the inclusion of Tyler would go a long way in bringing The Incredible Hulk back to relevance.
From a character perspective, it is difficult to figure out how Betty Ross would become involved with the plot of the film. Banner has moved on from Ross by all accounts and has since dabbled in a romantic relationship with Black Widow instead. There is the possibility that writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have found a different role for her to play, but it is so far impossible to theorize what that could be with so little details from the plot coming out.
Stay tuned to Screen Rant for updates about Avengers: Infinity War as they hit.

[h=1]Avengers: Infinity War Reportedly Filming in Scotland[/h]

Joss Whedon’s The Avengers set a high for standard for Marvel’s ensemble movies, pitting a cohort of heroes led by Iron Man and Captain America against the meddlesome Loki. It also introduced the overarching villain, Thanos, who has been portrayed by Josh Brolin in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films released post-Avengers. His search for the fabled Infinity Stones has affected each successive phase in the MCU since then, as they have appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor: The Dark World, Guardians of the Galaxy, and as recently as the Benedict Cumberbatch-led, Doctor Strange.
Avengers: Infinity War is the culmination of each of these MCU movies, following Age of Ultron‘s post-credits scene showing Thanos don his iconic Infinity Gauntlet, in order to go after the stones himself. Production for the movie will soon be underway too, with information about the film steadily unfurling; including, key filming locations for the project.

Daily Record is reporting that Infinity War will be partially filming in Scotland, with scenes taking place in both Glasgow and Edinburgh. Those same scenes will see some of the movie’s biggest cast members reporting in on set, with production lasting around six month and potentially boosting the Scottish economy by as much as £10 million. Films in the MCU have trotted both the globe and the galaxy, with scenes from Age of Ultron having been filmed on location in South Africa, South Korea, Bangladesh, and the UK. They’re geographically expansive films, so expect there to be several key locations around the globe featured in Infinity War too.

The new that filming will commence in Scotland however, could link back to a deleted scene from the second Avengers movie. In Age of Ultron, Thor visits a mysterious cave and receives a vision about the Infinity Stones. The theatrical version cuts much of this sequence out, but the full version sees the God of Thunder possessed by something known in Norse mythology as a Norn. These three creatures control fate, and appeared in popular form as the Three Witches in William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, the play about a Scottish warlord who would be king. Whether Infinity War directors Anthony and Joe Russo are looking to resurrect this discarded thread in Infinity War however,is unconfirmed for now.
There are now additional rumors that Liv Tyler will be reprising her MCU role as Betty Ross in Infinity War on top of all that – withScottish actor Karen Gillian, who debuted as Thanos’ adoptive daughter Nebula during Guardians of the Galaxy, also possibly appearing along with other Guardians actors. Point being, Infinity War is easily the largest Marvel movie to date, with a star-studded ensemble and a richer lore than ever. Question is, would re-introducing the fateful Norns there be a step too far for the already jam-packed third Avengers installment.

[h=1]Gamora Confirmed for Avengers: Infinity War[/h]

Marvel fans are in for a very exciting 2017, with (for the first time) three films coming from the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the same year – Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Thor: Ragnarok – although the film all eyes are really on is 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, the epic conclusion of the Infinity Stone plot that’s been threaded through the MCU films since 2011’s Thor. Little is known about what directors Anthony and Joe Russo actually have in store – not even which bits of the various Infinity comic book stories they will borrow from – but with the promise of Josh Brolin’s Thanos finally getting to show off his villainy, it’s hard to not get excited.
The biggest question is who will be in the movie. Long gone are the days of six core Avengers, with a team now made up of almost a dozen heroes, who are split after the events of Captain America: Civil War. On top of a sprawling narrative and a myriad of contracts, though, there’s also the matter of that other major Marvel super-team: the Guardians of the Galaxy. Ever since the space Avengers’ debut film in 2014, fans have been clamouring for the two sides of the MCU to come together – something that has been strongly hinted to happen in Infinity War at last. Well, now we have confirmation that Gamora, the green-skinned assassin, played by Zoe Saldana, is definitely going to be there

Speaking on the Golden Globes red carpet to MTV News, Saldana was asked if she was in Infinity War, to which she was a responded with a simple nod, before elaborating on the status of the script and her hope for the project:
“I don’t know when they’re gonna let me read it. I mean, I’m not looking forward to the five hours of green make-up, but every time I finally arrive on set I feel so happy and lucky to be there.”

Gamora was the (former) favorite daughter of Thanos, so it only makes sense that she would appear in Infinity War, but confirmation from the actress herself is still very good to hear. While the extent of any of the Guardians’ roles in the third Avengers film is unclear, Gamora is likely to be a key presence. When discussing the team working with the Avengers last year, Guardians costar Vin Diesel alluded to Gamora and Thanos’ familial connection, suggesting that it could be a very important element of the teams’ attempts to stop the Mad Titan from wielding the all-powerful Infinity Gauntlet in the Infinity War movie.
In the same interview, Saldana also reveals that she’s seen some of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2; when she went to do ADR work on the film, James Gunn showed her several clips, which she says “looks great”. If the Guardians sequel is as successful as the first movie, then Saldana can expect to spend a lot more time in green make-up over the next few years.

[h=1]Tom Holland Confirms Spider-Man for Avengers: Infinity War[/h]

A lot of news has been dropping of late about Avengers: Infinity War. Here’s what we’ve learned most recently: Chris Hemsworth hasn’t seen the script for the film; Zoe Saldana’s Gamora will be in the movie; Liv Tyler might be in the movie as Betty Ross; the film is shooting in Scotland; and Gwyneth Paltrow isn’t sure if she is going to be in the movie as Pepper Potts (and doesn’t seem too concerned about the matter, either way).
If that wasn’t enough Infinity War news for the fans, there’s another confirmation that should have folks buzzing. It appears one very popular Marvel Cinematic Universe character who had a big impact in a relatively small amount of screen-time in Captain America: Civil War, will be showing up to assist the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy (and whatever other Marvel heroes are ultimately inserted into the movie) in their battle against Thanos.
Tom Holland spoke to magazine Vogue Italia and confirmed that Spider-Man, who had been rumored to possibly be a part of the next Avengers, will indeed appear in Avengers: Infinity War. The Twitter account @TomHollandItaly tweeted out both the original text and a translated version of the bit where Holland confirms his participation in Infinity War.

Just what kind of role Spider-Man will have in Infinity War remains to be seen. Spidey is set to star in Spider-Man: Homecoming ahead of his shot in Infinity War, so perhaps developments in the first film will give some hints about how Spider-Man fits into the Avengers picture. A lot of this presumably depends on what kind of deal has been hashed out between Sony and Marvel as part of the on-going give-and-take over Spider-Man’s participation in the MCU.
What clues can we glean about Spider-Man’s Infinity War fate from the comics? In the Infinity Gauntlet series, which forms the basis for the Infinity War movie, Spider-Man is one of the last heroes called up to battle Thanos and he gets bashed over the head with a rock. That seems like kind of an anti-climactic fate for a hero of Spider-Man’s magnitude, so it’s doubtful that we will be seeing any head-bashing going on in Infinity War the movie.
Considering what a giant part Infinity War figures to play in the overall MCU, you have to believe the movie will be “epic” in every way. There’s no reason to believe Spider-Man won’t be a pivotal figure in the film, but we’ll have to wait until the movie comes out next year to know for certain.

[h=1]Peter Dinklage In Talks For Avengers: Infinity War[/h]

While Peter Dinklage has been a fixture of both TV and film since the 90s, it wasn’t until landing the fan favorite role of Tyrion Lannister in the HBO phenomenon Game of Thrones that he truly broke out, quickly becoming a household name in the years since that series’ 2011 premiere. While Dinklage was never at a loss for work prior to Thrones — appearing in movies like Elf and shows like FX’s Nip/Tuck — his stock currently resides squarely on the A-list level of Hollywood fame.
According to Variety, Dinklage is likely soon to add another huge entry onto his resume by joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, arguably the biggest film franchise in the world not named Star Wars. Told over the course of 14 films to date, the MCU as a whole has hauled in over $10 billion for Marvel and parent company Disney at the worldwide box office. Dinklage is presently in early talks to appear in both Avengers: Infinity War and its still currently untitled sequel, both of which will shoot back to back. The particulars of Dinklage’s potential role have yet to be revealed.
Interestingly, this of course wouldn’t be Dinklage’s first foray into the world of Marvel, with him having played Dr. Bolivar Trask in Bryan Singer’s 2014 hit X-Men: Days of Future Past. This would make him the first actor – with the obvious exception of cameo master Stan Lee – to ever play roles in both the MCU and FOX’s X-Men film franchise. He won’t be the first ever person to make the jump from FOX to Marvel Studios comic book movies though, as that distinction goes to Chris Evans, who played Human Torch in two Fantastic Four entries before assuming his current role of Captain America.

Dinklage is the first actor from outside the MCU fold to be announced as joining Infinity War’s cast, which is certainly quite understandable when one considers just how many existing MCU characters have to be successfully crammed into the film and its immediate follow-up. Not only is every prior Avengers regular returning, but the Guardians of the Galaxy are joining the crew, as are Civil War additions like Spider-Man and Black Panther.
Actual plot details for Infinity War are still mostly nonexistent, outside of the fact that intergalactic badass Thanos will finally step off his throne and bring the fight to The Avengers. Having already played the villainous Trask in Days of Future Past, one wonders if Dinklage will end up on the heroic side this time out. If so, the banter between he and Robert Downey Jr. might very well end up as the stuff of legend.

[h=1]Could Quicksilver Return in Marvel Phase 3?[/h]

The recent info dump on 4chan, a message board that has dropped some accurate rumors in the past, hints at a plethora of supporting characters making return appearances – some, possibly, for the very last time – in the two-part Avengers story that starts with Avengers: Infinity War in 2018. But as emotionally satisfying as it may be to see the likes of Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow), who hasn’t made an appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2013’s Iron Man 3, or Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who dropped out of her Marvel gigs until just recently indicating a change of heart, the really big rumor has to be the return of Pietro Maximoff (Aaron Taylor-Johnson).
Quicksilver was both introduced and killed off in the same film: 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. Writer-director Joss Whedon thought it necessary to have an emotional toll in what he considered to be a war movie, and the real draw in his character was always his connection to – and set-up of – his sister, the infinitely-more-powerful Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen). When combined with the fact that the battle in Sokovia otherwise featured established (and, therefore, less disposable) superheroes, young Mr. Maximoff was the only suitable candidate who could be killed off.

That hasn’t, however, stopped speculation that the character could return for the MCU’s Phase 4 (due to a number of storytelling factors that we’ll get to in just a moment). That there is now the possibility this could happen a year earlier – and in the next Avengers installment, to boot – is simultaneously surprising and somewhat expected.
[h=2]How Quicksilver could return[/h]

Let’s drop the generalities and get down to brass narrative tacks. As it happens, there are actually a number of different ways in which Quicksilver could come back for The Avengers: Infinity War:
Flashback – A method that has already been employed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe – for example, in Ant-Man, which featured Howard Stark (John Slattery) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell). This approach has been seldom used thus far, however, and given all the various characters and storylines that will need to be juggled across the two-part Infinity War, it’s hard to see how or why the filmmakers would want to throw this element into the already-chaotic midst.
Another difficulty with this possibility is that Quicksilver wasn’t really up to much before he was set loose from Baron Wolfgang von Strucker’s (Thomas Kretschmann) Hydra stronghold in the very beginning of Age of Ultron, and before that he didn’t have his super-speed. Unless the now-rogue Avenger Wanda Maximoff has a quick flashback to the painful experimentation process she and her twin went through in order to get their superpowers, it’s hard to see why Infinity War would need a Quicksilver flashback/

vision – One of the niftier tricks that Joss Whedon employed in Avengers: Age of Ultron was his giving each of the six Avengers a Scarlet Witch-induced nightmarish vision. While in terms of plot, these were intended to distract and disorient the team – and, of course, to start the process of getting Thor (Chris Hemsworth) keyed into the whole Infinity Gauntlet storyline – they also allowed the writer-director to sneak a whole host of little cameos from each of the protagonists’ solo films in, such as Peggy for Captain America and Heimdall (Idris Elba) for Thor. While the exact circumstances that would trigger a similar vision experience are unknown, it’s easy to see who would be the recipient of a hallucinogenic visitation from Pietro: Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Quicksilver’s battle comrade, or Wanda herself, getting a taste of her own mystical medicine.
Time travel – The most recent possibility added to the ranks, thanks to Doctor Strange’s introduction of the Time Stone to the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s ever-growing collection of Infinity Stones. Although Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) is still training and hasn’t yet mastered the Time Stone’s abilities to travel through time, he has already made a great deal of headway – more than any of the other mystical defenders of Earth have yet been able to accomplish. Knowing that Strange will be an Avenger in the next film, it’s not at all unlikely that he’ll be able to further his studies, rewind time, and save Quicksilver from his early demise.

Should this be the case, of course, it opens up a great can of worms, including what kind of effects on the timeline this would cause. Then again, given that Thanos (Josh Brolin) will very soon collect and control all six of the Stones, this may very well be a moot point.
Resurrection – Now we’re getting to the really good stuff. The Soul Stone – the last remaining Infinity Stone to be uncovered in the MCU – has the ability to manipulate individuals’ souls, whether of the living or the dead, by stealing or altering them, or even trapping them in an afterlife-esque alternate dimension. When combined with all of its brethren in the Infinity Gauntlet, it can bring the dead back to life (or vice versa) across the entirety of the cosmos.
Similarly, there is the Reality Stone (originally introduced in Thor: The Dark World), which can rewrite reality at the wielder’s whim, whisking various events or people in and out of existence in the blink of an eye. Think of this scenario as the failsafe option; if Quicksilver doesn’t technically get resurrected or pulled out of his original time to the present, then the entire space-time continuum can be reshuffled in order to accommodate his presence.
[h=2]Why bring Quicksilver back?[/h]

the source material – one who has had more than his fair share of loves, losses, and key interactions with all the other subsets of the Marvel Universe, from the X-Men to the Avengers to, most recently, the Inhumans (which will become a television series set within the MCU later this year). His continued presence in the films would be a welcome one, and the twist of undoing a tragic death would make for a pivotal sequence in Infinity War.
There’s also the more mundane, behind-the-scenes factors, as well. Nearly all of the Marvel movies’ original cast will have completed their contractual obligations with either Avengers: Infinity War or its unnamed follow-up, and there is the growing possibility that one or more of them will decide to not re-sign (being part of the MCU is a heavy commitment that limits the time actors can spend on other projects). As such, should Marvel Studios decide to extend its meta-franchise into Phase 4 and beyond, it may be necessary to replace these iconic superheroes with new characters – what the comics continue to do with the likes of the Hulk, Wolverine, Captain America, and, most recently, Iron Man – or, in an interesting twist, recasting all of the major players across the board, which could be accomplished by an Infinity Gauntlet-induced restructuring of space and time.
If this latter scenario would be put into play, having at least a few familiar faces still present in the background would not only be a nicety, it might also be a necessity, in order for the company to keep as many older viewers around and interested as possible. Having Aaron Taylor-Johnson back would provide
