A-o-A all,

Almost 2 months back a reputable member OmMeE started a poll & thread about ASUS official presence in Pakistan. Unfortunately things did not turn out as expected and now he is facing quite a criticism and humiliation from some forum members. At this moment, i find it deem necessary to clear something a bit to let people know what the actual story was.

First of all, OmMeE did what he was asked to do as i was the one who seek his support (and i am really thankful to him for doing his best) to start that thread and spread the news and development.

Being a technology lover and enthusiast myself i always wanted to do something for this very community we all belong to. Dreaming to see world renowned PC components brand in this country i put my best efforts working with importers, distris and actual manufacturers (like GALAXY COMPUTERS for Cooler Master and Corsair, eCom, SHINGTECH, ASUS TAIWAN and finally THERMALTAKE) to bring in the quality products. But unfortunately, due to a very small market, consisting of end users with a very limited knowledge and understanding of PC components, it was and still it is very difficult to attract known manufacturers from all over the world along with the local importers. There are handful of end users that poses adequate knowledge about those brands and majority can't even differentiate among different variations/generations of a particular component. Same is true for people who are importing and selling PC related stuff. Though, situation is changing slowly as people are getting aware of technical jargon, realizing their needs and demanding accordingly. Several tech forums and other print media are also spreading the knowledge among the readers and every single effort by any individual in this regard deserves appreciation.

Now coming back to the point........After months and years of voluntarily efforts, i managed to convince ASUS Taiwan in declaring their official presence here just like INTEL Pakistan to monitor our market needs and problems face by the end user of their products. As SHINGTECH is the only distributor of ASUS products in Pakistan, it was decided that SHINGTECH will conduct all the ASUS business transactions as usual but now there will be some checks and balances (like competitive product pricing, better warranty, services, RMA etc). It was also decided that ASUS will open its own PRIVILEGE CENTER and a sale point, first in Karachi, for displaying their products, interactive products demonstration and customer feedback.

ASUS products availability, pricing and warranty were the main issues so initially as an Operation Head, working in close co-ordination with SHINGTECH, i diverted all my focus to those issues and succeeded in resolving at least 2 to some extent (pricing and warranty). But eventually, CAPITALISM soon got in the way and SHINGTECH managed to hi-jack ASUS TECHNOLOGY PAKISTAN and later the project was shelved for indefinite time period

I am still very optimistic that as the market size grows and the end users keep on getting educated, we will see new brands and players coming to the market (like IAMEXTREME) bringing in some quality stuff. 5 years back it was hard to find couple of branded products but now we see plenty.

I dont know about other members but I think neither Ommee nor you are to blame for this thing. I have been doing some market research for quite some time and what I have noticed is that Pakistan is way far in terms of technology and IT. People here don't want any change they don't accept it. All they want is those products which were sold before. I am trying my level best to bring in those brands which were not here before. But the people here have no knowledge about these things and they don't want to learn anything either. Now thats my perspective but I am sure lot of people who have the knowledge of Pakistan's market would agree with me.
Fireblade you were doing an awesome job by bringing in Asus here.

Fireblade, I personally appreciate for what you did. Welcomed in every aspect. Also, bashing OmMeE for this is utter non sense. He's just an informant. Jis ko ziyada 'chul' hoti hai can contact ASUS themselves directly. And honestly, I've contacted ASUS on multiple occasions but they rarely respond. They're what you call 'Dheet' in many aspects so don't take it hard on yourself. :)

They aint 'dheet'. Frankly speaking they have alot of other stuff to do. Big companies like ASUS barely replies such emails, there nothing to be offended of cause they have their own policies and they usually stick to them.

@Fireblade
We really appreciate what you did and OMMEE should have updated that thread himself right when the idea was dropped. Anyhow, its good thats everything is now cleared.

SO THE GURU HAS FINALLY REVEALED HIM SELF
not with a gud news but a long clarification ... so i think no one wud be having any bad feelings or what ever against OMRAN (AKA OMMEE) ...
rizwan bhai ... i wish u wud have shared ur ambitions to us all earlier like u shared with few of ur close friends ... cause people should know who is doing what ...
i also wud like to appreciate the efforts which corrupted made ...
and now i think people who still have some strange feeling about yasir including some admin n mods of this forum should know n start appreciating his efforts ...
its not that simple a thing to bring something new to pakistan n then sell it successfully ...
as i said in some other thread ... for such kinda REVOLUTION (i will call it a revolution due to my own reasons) ... we dnt have to divide ourselves among brand follower or shop loyal-ist!
if one guy can do so much at his own (yasir) n succeed n another guy (fireblade) can try n is let down by some stupid money suckers ... we can atleast appreciate their efforts or remain SHUT ...

i wud like to congratulate fireblade ... atleast he kicked the sleeping dog ... made him shift his a$$ ... it doesnt matter whether he succeeded or not cause he was against some big names ...
so rizwan bhai ... i must say here this ...
me and so many like me were illiterate in 2008 n it was u and our friends on WCCF who made us wiser
people like u alitayyab zeeshan crippler cateye etc were the guys who started this fire with a single match n now u can see who many old men, young souls n even kids r so gud at this (like shajeel and afaq) ... n due to same awakening yasir brought some amazing names to pakistan ... n atleat if things r not gud or seem gud on 7th april 2011 ... but i am sure they can be better much much better even on 8th april 2011 (who knows)

so from all ur friends ur followers n mureeds and ur fans ... i really appreciate ur efforts and congratulate u that at least u did ur part and did it quite well ...
atleast u have spilled the cup ... and water will make and find its own way ...

MAGAR GURU GEE ... BARI DAIR LAGA DEE AAP NAY APNAY ZAHOOR MAIN :p

Thanks for the Heads up
i would say if things were not finalized why he was spreading rumors becoz of his Miss info i was about to Buy Sandy Mobo NON b3 version and Gonna replace it as it was said by him asus pakistan will replace it
but luckily i got confrontation with Shingtech they said aisa koi scene nahi ha
Where as ASTRONTECH are swapping it (msi)
So I would say it wasnt a good step spreading rumor in collabration with Mods
and I wouldnt agree Ppl Over here are much More Educated and familiar with technology what i see is the Sellers mostly are Unedcuated most of the time they dunno what to bring for Our Market

I wonder how many people went ahead and bought faulty motherboards thinking ASUS PAKISTAN will replace them with B3 when they arrive

I think atleast we should appreciate Fireblade what he was trying to do. Its not easy to import new brands here but Yasir(Alienware), me and others are trying their best to import new stuff only so that people have more choices when buying new stuff. I think that we deserve some good variety in pc hardware when buying anything.

Thanks to corruptd, opethain, OmMeE, AFQ, Sabeehflying and everyone for their appreciation and encouraging words, this is what keep us all going.

corruptd, i really appreciate your efforts in this regard, WELL DONE! (y)You are doing an awesome job. I also really appreciate the efforts and initiative taken by IAMEXTREME (YASIR).

Kindly make no mistakes as its not about one's success or failure. Its about putting one's effort for this matter and each person's contribution according to its available resources are more than welcome and much appreciated. It is the fruit of all those efforts that have forced the importers, distris etc to listen to their customers.

I am not here to take credits for what i've been doing or have done so far but just want to ask people to appreciate those among them who are making any sort of effort to promote these activities.

Galaxy had a few very good listening and aggressive working people (though, unfortunately they are not together any more) and i am really thankful to them for listening to me and taking immediate measures where ever possible and off-course feasible. Shingtech was always and is still the most difficult to deal but at least now they find themselves forced to change their attitude towards their customers. But still don't forget that "Tree that grows crooked will never be straightened" :grr:

For the last 2 years i was trying to introduce THERMALTAKE locally with an official distribution and finally its here. Another importer was importing few pieces of TT from here and there that you might have seen on CZONE website last year, but the price was too high. Now you can see that the price of those components have almost dropped to half and now there is so much TT variety available with good warranty.

P.S: To all those who have Asus Sandybridge Rev 2 boards, you are entitled for a free replacement with B3 boards when available. Stay put and demand your replacement confidently even if SHINGTECH tries to refuse as ASUS is sending replacements free of cost to them :)

Did y'all see the new Assassin's Creed trailer? They finally made a AC set in Japan & then they put a negro as the male protagonist. Ubisoft is taking cues from Disney, and it isn't gonna end well for them, just like Disney. Go woke, go broke!
