Aoa,

So i recently had this Arcade Cabinet Game made for my home use, you know nostalgia and all. I love the idea of that "Token Wali Game" where we all spent a decent amount of childhood. The Cabinet and controller is all good but i am not that happy with game library. Its got around 250 games and those pandora boxes offer more than 1200 games. It only has one street fighter game the classic one and i want more. I wanted to know if someone had similar arcade cabinet or DIY project and have modified and upgraded the software.

The system it uses is old dell PC having Core 2 Duo E8400 and DDR-II. They use some of PCB based controller hooked with an ancient printer port. I am surprised that people making these cabinets dont intend to add more value to there games. Any one knows a vendor who can add more games to hdd or have any tutorials.

Help is appreciated please....

Bought this from Rawalpindi if you have the same location ill share the exact shop i bought this. As regards reviews i have kinda mixed feelings. For KOF its awesome, I used to play KOF 99 alot back in the days and i can more or less pull of all the combos. This one cost me around 21k but this one is slightly tailored to my requirements. You can more or less get this in 13-15k or more if you have some custom needs "Jitna gurr utna meetha" wali philosophy. If you live in Lahore they make these in Ichara Market. let me know if you have more questions. Oh one more thing

Pandora Box although seems like a decent option but that does not give you the same nostalgic feel this does. Both locally made solution such as mine and pandora box have few pros and cons. depends on what you want.

Why i am not getting notifications of this thread.

Any how sure the exact location is college road near committee chowk, Rawalpindi. I dont think such cabinets are made in Islamabad(correct me if i am wrong). Few shops are adjacent to the famous savor foods and one shop from which i had this made is inside a plaza next to the savor foods. I am leaving my cell phone here 03328902175 and if you want ill ask the seller to give you a discount.

A while ago I got a custom 2 Player fight sticks made from college road. They only have cheap quality sticks and buttons and use PCB of broken knockoff joypads in these machines/boxes. I wasn't happy with the sticks, buttons or the controller PCB, so got Sanwa sticks, Happ switches and 28-button PCB from AliExpress and swapped those. Spent a lot of time on HyperSpin which is a FrontEnd for emulators to runs your ROMs. I didn't go for a cabinet coz then you get restricted on screen size, so I just got a 2 player fight stick box made with a 10 feet USB-C cable that I connect to PC and play on my TV. I basically made this setup for me and my brother to play our childhood games for some nostalgia but it's too much fun and our kids love it too. The sticks work great on Tekken 7, Street Fighter V Chamions Edition, Soul Calibur 6 etc. I have over 40,000 Arcade games on it plus all retro systems like Sega, Nintendo, Playstaion etc. It's a deep rabbit hole when you start collecting these and I'm currently well over 8TB :(

In your scenario, its a PC hooked up to the controls via a JAMA port.
Upgrade options:
Add more games to the MAME, check your HDD space first.
You can swap out the PC with a Pandora box that will connect to the JAMA port.
Check comaptibililty before trying above options, those are old technologies and are painful to get to configue and properly work. Best bet would be to downlaod MAME and get some ROMs and connect your Desktop PC to the cabinet.

BTW, i started Ghost of Tsushima, and it got me hooked within the first couple of minutes. I already know It's gonna be a memorable experience. This is how you make a proper Samurai game. Not that SJW game Ubisoft is making.

That's still higher than it's total play length. A 5 hour campaign for a $50 game is downright scammy.

Consoles were my main platform ever since Atari 2500. But now I think it's not worth it as PC especially with DLSS deliver far smoother performance. AW2 on console didn't even had ray tracing and ran below 30fps. Similar issues plagues DD2 on consoled.
The cross gen era really made people think 60fps would be a new standard lol

Welp, done with Hellblade 2. Thoroughly disappointed. Such a nothing burger after the unique experience of the first game.

I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

It is indeed the worst generation by far.

Both PS and Xbox have been a flop this gen as they can barely maintain 30 fps in a lot of AAA games th.

  • L LegacyGamerGuy:
As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

Gradually transitioning from console gaming to PC as the games are not worth it. 6 hours of Hellblade 2 is just not worth the $50 price tag.
Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.

Still, I don't like either Sony or Microsoft as they are focusing more on corporate greed than delighting customers. PC gaming is best of gaming and worth every penny.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.

About the Microsoft (and Sony) debate, I feel both have become too greedy and losing their minds over corporate greed. Personally, I will never buy any console next gen and switch to PC gaming where democracy reins.
