(SOLVED)All games crashing Zotac GtX 1080TI Amp extreme
Hi folks
Got my Zotac Gtx 1080ti Amp Extreme card yesterday
My specs are
CPU :i7 6700k stock clock
MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte z170x gaming 6 mobo
RAM: 16GB DDR4 Corsair Vengence LPX
CPU COOLER: Corsair H55 liquid AIO
PSU: Corsair VS650W
MONITOR : Dell s2716dg 1440p 144hz G sync enabled
OS : Windows 10 Pro latest build
All drivers are fully updated
Problem: all games are crashing to desktop 10-20 seconds into gaming. Tried the rise of the tomb raider, for example, I receive an error “dxgi_error_device_hung” and crash
Other games, for example Witcher 3,I don’t even receive any error message at all and the game just crashes to desktop. Interestingly FurMark works just fine without any crashes.
The gpu runs around 65-70 degrees
Troubleshoot: I reinstalled the graphic card, checked all connections and wiring. Used DDU I’m safe mode . Reinstalled windows. Still same problem
Important note : I enabled the “NVIDIA DEBUG MODE” from
Nvidia Control panel. The games stop crashing and the issue is eliminated. This is also true if I under clock the GPU using MSI afterburner. I don’t want to run this card on Nvidia reference clocks which defeats the purpose of buying this card. Can someone please help how to fix this. Is this a PSU issue ? Or do I have to RMA it (which i really want to avoid as I already waited 30 days to get this card)
Please help
