Hello All there,I am doing research on internet about submarine cable systems and found out about this MONSTER AAE-1.It is said to have the capacity of freaking 40tbps that is double than that of seamewe 5 which I think is around 20 to 25 tbps. The most important thing is that only ptcl is consortium member from pakistan, whereas transworld is a member of seamewe 5.THE major question is that, will the people be expecting better quality internet in the future or will the suffering continue???

If TW isn't part of it, then TW Based ISPs will most probably not be affected at all by this.

And ptcl's monopoly isn't going to give us better Internet value for money

Exactly. So they may enjoy the extra bandwidth availability when this cable is online, but no news if it will make things better for us or not.

Hello!

International connectivity might improve but the reason for failure of PTCL for majority of users is the poor state of the infrastructre in the country. We all know the reasons for that. If we couldn't even have decent connectivity in the heart of the capital city, what to talk of other far off places. Wireless broadband could have saved them but again it came down to luck most of the times and it's likely to never catch up with suspension of the service in many regions as customers shift to others in the meantime. And what to talk of their legendary customer support famous for driving people mad.

I know there aren't many alternatives out there but others are improving. If one is willing to sacrifice for a while mostly in terms of bandwidth caps and speed throttling there are good options. We don't even have their landline anymore.

The more people switch, the more pressure to break PTCL up though I doubt it would give up its "bandwidth backbone" without a fight.

Wish you good luck!

Regards,
Ahmed

Alan wake 2 is yet to recover it's development costs. Due to no physical release and no steam launch.
You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
