Well, since Chandoo put it that way, i hope it doesn't become "funny" fighting inanimate objects. I mean the harvester is ok, but i don't want to fight cranes, cars, vacuum cleaners (ok maybe not)....:D

Small clip... but it was great.

  • Atmospheric effects (wind/smoke/dust/lighting) = brilliant. They've really 'harvested' alot of what 360 had to offer. Trees and vegetation being unresponsive would've made it all so dull. Good job.
  • sound = brilliant
  • camera angle = felt really weird in that video. Hope it was just the player who sucked.
  • Fighting a frekkin harvester? = WTF ?!?! Hope they have some good explanation for all that... no wonder it took 6 years :p Maybe Alan was hallucinating?

btw somebody noticed the physics specially at the end of video the tree is just moving like hell it looks really really real,just watch the vid again,at least alan wake is truly a next gen game.

I think I just mentioned that. But that doesn't make it 'truly next gen'. Many other games do that too... its just nice to see it here coz it makes a difference in its presentation.

The trees and bushes are a really big part of the game's atmosphere, Every time "The dark presence" comes into motion the trees move around like hell.

Don't know about "tree movement" but the way the lighting effects are kicking in and the camera is focused on the massive ass tree in the background swinging all crazy like in the wind and a lightning strike illuminating it perfectly for just one instance.

That's some awesome atmospheric touches right there.

Even a Hair Dryer can take lives people!

I'm loving the presentation though. I'd say "can't wait for it" but fortunately, I don't have to. FFXIII, GOW3 and Conviction are gonna keep me well occupied till Alan's wake.

Didn't know you were a fan of Splinter Cell as well. Played all the previous installments? Or is it just the 'new direction' SC is taking thats so intriguing?

I've played all the SC, but finished only the first one.
Never really got into the series and it's probably the new direction that has me intrigued.

I thought so. Never really saw someone whos a fan of BOTH SC and MGS series. Just like it goes for Half-Life and Halo :p

atleast i haven't seen these types of physics specially on a tree on 360.

    Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

    tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
