Philips one is crap because of low resolution, go for 22incher with 1080p resolution.

i hope 9800GT will not make any BIG problems with 1080P but u can upgrade it latter.

Huh? How does a monitor become crap if its not 1080p? And for 16k its a damn good deal. Please keep your opinions to yourself.

1680x1050 was the company standard for 22" 16:10 monitors a year ago, but since 16:9 came 1920x1080 has become on 22". So there is nothing wrong with a lcd supporting 1680x1050 on 22" screen. Opinions are good as long as you know a thing about lcds, so don't mis guide others.

E7200 @ 2.5Ghz with an Intel board ... So Extra performance is out of question.
Yes the 9800Gt can DO 1080p but it will struggle at that Resolution Especially when the User stated that he want Maximum Eyecandy.

@MJ2K!! Atleast you can specify your budget for an LCD :\
If you cant do 1080p, then atleast you can do 720p easily. 19", 20" or 22" ... it doesn't matter as it always depends on your budget. So can't say anything unless you do so.

Well my budget was actually 13k for a 19 inch. Then i saw this 22 inch for 16k so i stretched it a bit and that's my budget you can say 16k.

I know this Philips LCD has lower contrast ratio and no glossy stuff but i think its a good deal.

Regarding GPU well i know 9800gt CAN DO 1080p but not with max eye candy for sure. Anyhow i'll see how it works out. If i am not satisfied then may be ill get a new card as well.

and no 4770 the crappy 128 bit shit is out of question i wana upgrade not downgrade. I will either go for gtx260 or 4870 if i have to buy one.

Guys also give your opinions on the LCD i have chosen.

I would say ... get a HP W2007 20.1" supports a native resolution of 1680x1050, 5ms response time @ Rs.14.4k

If not 1080p, atleast you can do 720p on your Rig or above in some cases.

22inch for a 9800gt? what a waste

save for money for at least gtx 260 for best gaming experience. With 9800gt u will have to play at 1440x900 or lower, and trust 1440x900 looks blurry on a 22inch screen. IMO waste

and dude, get at least a core2 duo at 3.5GHZ also

Tango bhai i make my purchases with best priceerformance ratio. Till date i have extracted maximum pleasure from my rig playing all the latest games with full satisfaction. Now i have decided to go for HD gaming and trying to assess how much should i invest. Before making this thread i had an idea that 9800gt wont go with 22 inch. Well now we are trying to discuss the optimum investment i can make in both LCD and GPU.

abobobilly that HP one looks good and i think 9800gt will handle 720p on it quiet well.

Can you explain in simple terms HD gaming and how is it diff from normal gaming. If i play at 720p resolution on my 19 inch crt it wont be HD right? so what else is required besides the resolution to get HD quality and what is HD ready monitor. Are these LCDs that we are discussing is HD ready?

HD gaming means 1280 x 720 resolution or better. PURE HD is 1920x 1080 or higher.

In this resolution, the graphic looks awesome. todays console standard ps3, xbox 360 is 720p, so it is todays standard for clear crisp graphics.

Technically its hd but that doesn't mean it will look as good as a 32" 720p LCD TV just like a 2048 res CRT won't look better then a 1600x900 or 1920x1080 monitor because LCD has a much higher IQ.

abobobilly and AFQ thanks man i had no idea about Corsair CX400 and it does look sufficient so im gona get that PSU.

Syavash i am not into ATI is the first reason. Plus i don't admire DX11 and i have not even used DX10 yet since i am running XP.

Man i checked some of those screenies in the HD screenshot thread and this investment will definately reap good results Inshallah.

Btw LCD and PSU is done. Which GTX260 shoul i go for? I think there are 2 variants core 216 and 196? XFX or EVGA?

216 shader one is better ofcourse and evga/xfx won't matter much if both of them are using stock coolers. Get which ever is cheaper.
