I haven't played any console games for a few years. Though, after reading this thread, I felt like leaving a short comment. I would definitely like to see the take of devs of Resogun on a 3D third person action game. It would likely have some interesting design aspects.
Resogun was a good game...
Well, I don't know about perfect scores, but for what it's worth, it certainly seems that this game is more deserving of 90+ (also counting the general inflation of scores) than for example the console 3D mario games in last 10 years or so (galaxy games+3d world) --- which themselves are pretty...
What you are saying of course might be true in principle. But the actual number of games with well-developed mechanics (to the point that you want to play it over and over) are in fact are small percentage.
You can move across genre to genre and see the same thing (ofc I think the actual...
Well review scores always tend to favour some aspects of a game over others. So once you know that, you have a good idea which good (but not great) game will be getting a 90+ score and which great game (perhaps lacking a bit in production values) will be getting ~85 or even much less.
Quite...
Also anyone thinks that there is similarity to Okami ..... in the sense that this game is (in some way) like a somewhat more modern version of Okami?
Or the comparison would be really somewhat of an exaggeration? :P
There is also LTTP (link to the past). I certainly recommend playing it (not a "highly recommended" but still a fun game). I played it about 16 years ago :P
And as for the 3D games, yeah it is possible that some of them just haven't aged well.
As for this game, I am a little underwhelmed...
Certainly you are not the only one. I felt for quite some time that the game needed a next-gen or PC port with fully smooth framerate. Also agree with the rest of the comments. I don't have a good PC so I can't play it, but certainly a very good game indeed.
In fact, even though I was quite...
As I understood, he was just saying that playing on a handheld like device is very convenient. Particularly given the lack of continuous electricity, I would say that's very reasonable thing to say.
Did you choose to play on the gamepad screen instead of tv (for example, due to convenience) .... or there were certain game functions that required the gamepad screen while playing on tv? I am guessing you meant the former.
Looks a lot like trauma center game on DS (don't remember which console the second part was for).
I am no expert on graphics, but well, the sprite work looks pretty decent. But, if I had to be critical, it seems that look of some of the sprites here could be improved a lot by better (more...
Definitely have been thinking of playing a Falcom game for quite some time (even with lost interest in JRPGs generally) .... but haven't quite gotten around to it. What would you say is their best game in:
i) 2D overhead action
ii) 3D action
iii) as an overall game (graphics, story, music etc.)
I agree essentially, but I think there is one point here though. It would certainly be much better if Nintendo's games offered multiple difficulty levels. It seems that they probably don't do this because of perceived audience etc. .... but I feel that multiple difficulties increase both...
I certainly don't think that this is a game for everyone. I played P3 many years ago (about 8 or so) and didn't like it much. Same with P4 a couple of years ago.
Now I finished two SMT games(also 8 years ago!) from start to end (not side quests though), and seen the others a bit (the PS2 ones...
VirtualOn is definitive cool. I never got to play a VO game though. I remember seeing a tournament video (don't remember which version of game it was) quite a few years back. Looked quite a bit of fun.
The video in OP doesn't give any indication at all about the actual game. Let's see...
So there is no 60 fps version? Then it seems worth getting the WiiU version.
There are many others too. Though it is still fair to say that the choice of genres on WiiU isn't as diverse (or alternatively you could say, relatively limited) as compared to other platforms.
I think there are at least some changes that need to be made. I have felt for a few years now that the "news section" really needs to be separate from "game discussion" section.
"Game discussion" should specifically for discussion/views/experience pertaining to that specific game "after" its...
My third post got deleted .... I will just repeat the few points that need to be completed.
If we denote "n" as dimension of the board, then we can see quite easily that there can't be more than n queens placed on the board such that all of them are safe.
Using that fact, it can be shown that...
To elaborate on the previous post, consider the following two simplistic methods of finding the given function (whether any queen can attack any other):
a) Iterate over all the positions of the queens individually. Check whether all of the cells which are in attack range of the given queen are...
Aren't there two variables here? If I understood the problem correctly, then the number of queens (say m) and dimensions of board (say n) both should be considered as variables (over which running time has to be described).
Maybe I misunderstood the problem, but isn't it somewhat trivial...
I would say it isn't that this game is awful. Probably serviceable if one was really craving for a MegaManX like game. It's just that it looks uninspired on all fronts (graphics, main character, design etc.), and seems to lack the extra "energy" (for the lack of better word) the MegaMan games...
The graphics look mediocre. As a comparison, anyone knows estimates on budget of recent Rayman/DKC or other retail 2D-platformers (for example kirby)?
What I don't understand though is that why not give money to some established company who have a good track record. Even arc systems did a...
So I guess 60 fps along with good physics simulation isn't far away. Generally speaking, I think even small effects related to physics simulation (not necessarily realistic ... in fact it would probably be better to adapt it to the game) can add a lot to game's feel and impact. It seems more...
How would you compare this game to vanquish from a "purely" mechanical viewpoint.
I am curious as to how much of the difficulty/burden of simulating this kind of stuff (in real-time) comes purely from the actual physics(or the simulated physics of the game to be precise) and how much of the...
I am not quite a fan of metroidvania games but here are few suggestions.
You might want to try a few games in the wonderboy series. "Wonderboy in Monster World" and "Monster World 4" (translated) both meet the metroidvania criterion I think. If you play on emulation make sure to play on...
no idea how that is a steal by wasting 3500 rupees per month and for games that are removed before you can finish them off.xbox gamepass is garbage with no local prices

Just finished Diablo 4 season in hurry to play Fallout 4 but gamepass released another banger in the form of Star Wars on April 25th. Gamepass is a steal man.
Is it just me or people lately seem to defend every bad game design decision made by the devs and try to give bullshit reasons for that? Or perhaps it's because I'm on reddit and discord
