I didn't say it was WINNING, I said it WILL win. In the long run. Believe it or not, the majority of gamers are casual players. You and one other person are the only two people I know who've enjoyed Dark Souls and finished. I know a lot of gamers, and the majority of them didn't even bother finishing the game and I felt disappointed because they missed out on a great experience. But if the game was just a tad bit less difficult, I think they would've seen it through to the end.
It's not meant for casual gamers: That's the point! If Casual gamers don't like the Souls series, they'll play Skyrim and Skyrim will win D:
I stopped Skyrim after 3 days of playing. In those 3 days, I managed to finish the game, tonnes of sidequests, killed lots of dragons and even completed one DLC ._.
I didn't say Easy mode. I said a mode that is a LITTLE LESS HARD for casual gamers.
No, I JUST want an open world, a horse and some music. NPCs in the souls series are perfect.

I meant freedom in speech and decisions. Obviously some important choices are just an illusion since they're important for the story to continue, but the rest were nice. (I'm assuming you've finished the main storyline) Like whether to join the Stormcloaks or the Imperials, or to have the Thalmor at the peace council or not and whether to kill Partharnux or not.
Music was viking-ish and WRPG-ish and it fit the theme, so it was okay.
As for the Cliches... it's a Western RPG. Since when have Americans been original when it comes to mythical stuff?
But yeah, Souls > TES anyday. But I still want the Souls games to have a larger, more open world and music. I REALLY want music.
Also, a the option to adjust the difficulty level would be nice. Don't make the game too easy, but make it a little less hard so I can sometimes have a casual experience as well instead of being on my toes every second.
And why would I want to play a broken game?
Btw, the mods don't fix the bugs. They just add extra stuff, like a better, more beautiful night sky. They also get me cloaks (which look awesome) and birds and better snow and trees.
But with all honesty, the game is overhyped. TOO overhyped. It's 7/10 AT BEST + WITH HD textures. Otherwise, a 6.
I love how the RPG elements are so hardcore. And the lore is nice. And the freedom and the music and the nordic theme. But the battles piss me off so much. I've experienced the bugs too. Sometimes they gave me nausea #nojoke.
Now why would I do that?

Playing on PC btw, so I don't have the same issues that you did on the PS3 Plus, mods and the HD texture pack is amazing.
