Sony PlayStation 5 : Play Has No Limits

PS5 Release Date, PS5 Games, PS5 Power vs Xbox One X, PS5 Price Speculation - All the PS5 Info lets discuss

Here are all the rumors and speculation surrounding the PS5, including a potential PS5 release date, power, and launch games of Sony's inevitable PS5. Is the PS5 releasing in 2019?

What we Want From the PS5 Speculation aside, what would we ideally want from the PS5? Backwards compatibility for PS4 games would be brilliant, simply because you'd be able to carry over classics like the Shadow of the Colossus remake to the next console generation. We've seen how well Microsoft is handling backwards compatibility with its Xbox One consoles (including getting amazing results updating Xbox 360 games to run in 4K on Xbox One X), and something similar on PS5 would be great.

In terms of pure power, the PlayStation 5 has to significantly exceed the power of the Xbox One X. This means featuring more games running in 4K at 60FPS. If the PS5 can deliver about 10 TF of power we'd be happy, as this would allow devs to create games that look a generation ahead of what we've got now.

But what would the dream launch lineup be for the PS5? Death Stranding and The Last of Us: Part 2 are hugely anticipated blockbuster games, with the former especially looking to push the performance of whatever system it's on to the very limit. We've also mentioned Ghost of Tsushima and a sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn, and the latter would be the perfect way to kick off a new console cycle from Sony.

After being on the lookout for 3 months, I was finally able to grab the disc version! :)

Playing Spiderman Remastered right now. The last console I owned was a PS3, so it's a pretty big jump for me. Planning to grab TLOU to play after this one, since it's on sale right now for 10 euros.

P.S. DualSense is an awesomely immersive experience.

Hi all,

Don't know where to post this so posting here. I am not new to PG but have been inactive for almost ever.

I purchased a PS5 about a week ago. The console is quite amazing. However, I have come across some issues, at least three of them, in the past few days.
  1. The screen goes black while playing games (this has happened a few times)
  2. The console turns itself off suddenly, more specifically when I turn it on. Though once it did so while I was in the process of playing Demons Souls (the switching off has happened a couple of times, at least).
  3. Network/Internet disconnects on its own (this has happened once, so far).

For now I have turned off the Rest Mode. Perhaps that's the culprit?

If it helps.
-I am using Samsung Series 7 4K TV for playing PS5.
- I keep my PS5 horizontal.

Make sure you've plugged in directly into the wall, using the supplied HDMI cable.
Are you using LAN cable or WiFi? For some users if the cable is too long it'll keep disconnecting.

the screen going off looks like a lose hdmi connector ?
and the console just flat out turning off in the middle of game play sounds bad, maybe your power outlet where you have it is faulty, or if you are running it through an extension or a stabilizer or anything external .. remove that and connect it directly.

Hi
Is there a page or a list of ALL the games that are available on the PS5? I know there is not much of it, but I would need such a list / page very much, maybe there is PoE. PoE is one of my favourite games on PS and maybe there will be a chance to convert my hero to Path of Exile 2 on Playstation. Now I'm using PS4 and I'm happy with that
Lists are very useful if you want to know more about the people who play and trade games. It may not be the easiest thing to do, but it is certainly rewarding. Spring is coming, maybe we will return to our activities soon, but so far we are playing.
I am delighted to be able to play Path of Exile, but what should I do with my money and currency?

The turning off in the middle of game was a bit suspect. As soon as I pushed the PS button on the controller it took me back to the game instead of having to go through the entire restart process. I was too panicked to observe what actually happened there.

My power outlet is fine. My TV is also connected to the same board. I am not using an extension or any other external source.

Hello Ahmed.

1. This can happen due to hdmi handshaking issues with some TVs. I'd recommend hooking the PS5 up with another TV and seeing if the issue persists.
2. When you say "turn it on", do you mean from Rest mode? Rest mode related shutdowns are a common issue with the console. You ought to disable it altogether (which you already have), and re-enable it after a couple of firmware updates.
3. Unfortunately, this is also a known issue. Did it happen while you were downloading something? The PS5's wifi started acting up for some people after the December firmware update. Upgrading your modem/router may help, preferably to one that supports wifi-6. If it doesn't happen often or if it doesn't affect online multiplayer latency, it's not worth bothering with.

1. The display turning off and on issue is suspected to be an HDMI handshake issue.

2. No, I meant turning it on from being off for a while.

3. WiFi got disconnected while I was downloading Resident Evil Village Demo.

The cross gen era really made people think 60fps would be a new standard lol

Welp, done with Hellblade 2. Thoroughly disappointed. Such a nothing burger after the unique experience of the first game.

I have a PS5 but I am not satisfied with the experience. I am currently saving for a 4080 64 GB rig soon. Bit will wait for Pro if performance improves. This gen has been so bad I don't plan on buying consoles anymore for AAA gaming.

Both PS and Xbox have been a flop this gen as they can barely maintain 30 fps in a lot of AAA games th.

As per WCCF Tech review, Xbox Series X doesn't even maintain a consistent FPS and sometimes drops into the mid-20fps range. That's unacceptable, tbh.

Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

Still, I don't like either Sony or Microsoft as they are focusing more on corporate greed than delighting customers. PC gaming is best of gaming and worth every penny.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.

About the Microsoft (and Sony) debate, I feel both have become too greedy and losing their minds over corporate greed. Personally, I will never buy any console next gen and switch to PC gaming where democracy reins.
