This should also clear any doubts you may have had about last year's winner. As for critics that didn't review TLOU Part II but ended up awarding it as their GOTY, even if they were exempted from the tally, it still would've won

Joystick awards started including the critic's choice award from 2015. The Ultimate GOTY award is based on public voting and therefore couldn't be considered in prior years. The rules didn't change; I just hadn't made a GOTY thread between 2015-2019
