Future PlayStation Studios titles will offer $10 next-gen upgrade fee

btw another eff up or two in the above article by sony, if u want to upgrade to a digital version of ps5 for said digital ps5 users you need a ps5 with A DISC uhhh
another thing to note that god of war and gran turismo mentioned coming confirmed on ps4 and ps5 both... w00t w00t
This just shows that the $70 pricing decision also could've been reversed but people gladly accepted it.
Funny how Sony took this opportunity to make it clear not to expect any more free upgrades for cross gen Sony published games. $10 upgrades were fine for games like Tsushima, so Sony thought they could get away with $20 as well.
Why is the PS5 version still priced at $70? Sony is still relying on the majority to not be aware of the cheaper upgrade path and just buy the game for $70 instead like their other first party games.
Also, this policy doesn't seem limited to first-party studio games only.
This will apply to the next God of War and Gran Turismo 7, and any other exclusive cross-gen PS4 & PS5 title published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Damn you Jim ryan or who ever it is responsible for this shit show.
I really hope this gen belongs to MS so Sony knows how to respect its customers because this feels like an absolute chamaat to ps5 users like me. I dont mind porting old exclusives to ps at all. I mean they are a corporate entity at the end of the day but the pricing strategy especially for the next gen owners is fucking atrocious. On top of that, these director's cut feel nothing but petty cash grabs.
I think that they are just pushing the dust under the carpet and preparing us for the $70 crap moving forward. And I dont think that the PS community as a whole is doing enough to counter this shit show. I honestly believe that the only thing that will bring Sony to its senses would be if the developers themselves pressure Sony management to stop shitting on the players. I mean its obviously unlikely but imagine a tweet from the likes of Cory Balrog or Neil Druckman against these policies. Oh that would be an epic slap to Sony.
well it's quite out there now, SONY is the consumer unfriendly aholes now, in the past we could say Xbox but its quite evident who the big bad is in the gaming industry.
You got my standards wrong (even for Ori lol). It has to be a re-release, such as Ori definitive edition, GoT: Director's cut, Cyberpunk 2077: Enhanced Edition (). In this case, we'll see how the Director's cut for Death Stranding fares. Also, you were clearly talking about Horizon lmao
"Different situation". I didnt buy digital. I paid Amaga tax. No need to do that anymore

If Sony had stuck to their strategy with the PS4, there really wouldn't have been any need to buy an Xbox. Alas, we expected too much from the lousy new management

Game Pass only became a consideration for me after Sony changed its stance on exclusives. Without exclusives, there's nothing special about the PlayStation ecosystem. Xbox doesn't have exclusives either, so they're somewhat even on that front now. That's when Game Pass became a key factor.
no idea how that is a steal by wasting 3500 rupees per month and for games that are removed before you can finish them off.xbox gamepass is garbage with no local prices

Just finished Diablo 4 season in hurry to play Fallout 4 but gamepass released another banger in the form of Star Wars on April 25th. Gamepass is a steal man.
Is it just me or people lately seem to defend every bad game design decision made by the devs and try to give bullshit reasons for that? Or perhaps it's because I'm on reddit and discord
