Paying for upgrades isn't great, but GoT is a better situation compared to charging $20 for Spider-man remastered, and both are better than forcing people to buy the Forbidden Lulz CE to get access to both PS4/5 versions day 1. Nothing hypocritical about it
Miles Morales was offered as a free upgrade day 1 for the regular edition, so why not Forbidden Lulz?
Forcing $120? CE? Lagta hai Skyward Sword HD and joycons pe overspend karne ki regret hai abhi tak, which alongwith BoTW Wii U, had no upgrade path option for Switch owners. But since Nintendo completely locks you out of cross platform purchases, I guess thats also a "better situation". Double standards rep

Unlike lousy Sony, Nintendo doesn't believe in cross-gen. The only reason BOTW was cross-gen was because it was already in development as a Wii U title. Don't be surprised if the same happens with the sequel
P.S. the original Skyward Sword was 2 generations old lol.

Apparently, there's no disc included with the CE; digital download only. If you want the disc, you need one of the regular or Special editions. neither of which are cross-gen compliant. This just gets better and better
Too bad for you, cuz us former Wii U owners only ended up liking Nintendo more for the Switch
Not to mention, unlike Sony, Nintendo didn't linger on with cross-gen releases, so there was no Forbidden West-like situation outside of the one BOTW at launch lol. Exactly how it should be. Nintendo rep

Imagine thinking I can play Nintendo's games by investing in the PC ecosystem lmao. Generation end honay ko aati hai, tab ja ke emulation kuch decent hoti hai, aur tab bhi ideal nahi. Can't play 'em online either. RIP emulation
That said, the PC ecosystem will have its uses. It'll be a cheap (read: free lol) entry point for single-player Xbox and PlayStation first-party games, such as Forbidden West
