Played a bit past the first boss fight. Probably the safest Resident Evil game in recent memory. Lady Big Booba was such a waste of a character. I found her gameplay to be an absolute chore. Nowhere near as threatening as the Baker couple. Or even Mr. X for that matter.

I mean, the game isn't gonna introduce jumping is it? The fact that you'd rate "what you've played so far" anyway, a 9/10 despite saying the franchise isn't a "pinnacle of gameplay"... is just another example of double standards 🤷‍♂️ :ROFLMAO:

And just like that, right after the game gets cracked, Capcom miraculously drops a patch to address DRM related issues that have been present since release. Maybe we should blame a different company for Capcom's behavior and stop buying/pre-ordering their games on PC.


In other updates, FSR has been implemented. Better than interlacing (same as checkerboarded on consoles) in some cases, but not in others.

Hotdamn Capcom's own upscaling providing better texture resolve, performance than FSR.. And the PC version still lagging behind the console versions in terms of AA.

I tested with ray tracing enabled on a Radeon RX 6800XT, so maybe RT adds some kind of fixed cost that diminishes the FSR win, but ultimately I found that while FSR can resolve some elements of image quality better than the existing checkerboarding mode, in-surface detail is blurrier and on my settings at least, there is no tangible performance win.

In my own experience with the game so far, interlacing/checkerboard is pretty bad for image quality mainly due to artifacts which look even worse in motion than in screenshots, compared to native quality.






FSR Ultra Quality at 4K seems better suited for higher-end rigs to achieve close to 100fps performance + VRR at all times if native is too demanding.
Interlacing/checkerboard is good for low-to-mid range system that are struggling to reach 60fps.

People are complaining about graphics seriously ? village looks so good, the atmosphere, castle details and what not. well I liked the game overall, finished on Base PS4 and it was quite playable.

My ratings for the game 9/10
