Hi,
I am looking to buy a cell phone in range of 25k new only.
I have two sets in mind, Redmi 5 plus 27k and Mi A1 26k
Specs of both seem to be the same and with just 1k extra Redmi screen size is 6" and it has double the space too.
Also how's the same Redmi 5 plus with 3gb ram & 32gb space and at what price since MiStore isnt showing it?

Please if you have used these cells, do share your review, also if you have something else in mind, do share.

Thank you.

Mi A1 is an Android One device, which means butter smooth stock android experience and timely updates. One the other hand Redmi 5 has MIUI which is ugly AF and you wont receive quick updates from Mi.

You can also consider Huawei's offering at this price range like Honor 7X, P-smart etc. The rest i completely agree with mhasan92.

Mi A1 is better than most of the phones in this range currently available.

But I will advise you to wait for Redmi note 5 pro which will be launched in few weeks in Pakistan. May be in second or first week of April. It is one incredible phone.

Thank you every one.

I checked the specs even A1 also has MIUI 9 where as redmi has MIUI 7 so how are they both any different except that A1 will get faster updates?
Even S8+ got oreo update so late so how can one complain for these sets.

Redmi looked better as well from A1 n esp less bezel.

I have to get the set by this weekend so cant wait that long for the note 5 pro otherwise that also looks promising.

I actually am buying this for my dad who has really simple usage plus some social media apps so I would prefer the regular updates too as I dont want this to slow down that quickly as android phones do normally.

Nope A1 is a Android one phone (basically stock Android experience) While Xiaomi has also Mi 5x (which is basically M1 but it was especially made for Chinese market and it has MIUI interface). So you might have had seen a Mi 5x and got confused it for A1 (AS they are exactly same devices with Os/interface differences).

And A1 being a Android one device will recive monthly updates more quickly over other non Android one based smartphones.

I was actually checking specs on gsmarena.

So I didnt know what is Anroid one n i checked it on internet that means it will get two major updates meaning that it will get the next update after oreo too and also it will get monthly updates for 3 years, right

btw what about the other xiaomi sets, like redmi 5 plus and note 4, do they also get two major updates and monthly security updates or not?

I am confused between the two.

Redmi has bigger screen, better battery and even better camera (watched result of both side by side in a video comparison)

A1 is on oreo and will get the next update too and may not slow down like redmi will.

the only plus point I see for A1 is the major updates but smaller screen, smaller battery, more bezel, camera quality not as good as redmi.

in a review video some one said that fast charging on A1 has been disabled in software update? while redmi 5 plus has fast charging :/

Mi A1 has a better camera if you care about taking pics otherwise I bought Redmi 5 Plus for 18k from Daraz and believe me it's safe, and today sales begin again.

Depends on what you seek

Go for Redmi 5 Plus if you seek

  • Better Battery
  • Larger Display
  • Heavily Skinned Android Experience (with somewhat nifty and gimmicky features) MIUI is preferred by some while hated by others

Go for Mi A1
if you seek

  • Better Camera (Portrait Mode)
  • Stock Android
  • USB Type -C
  • Slimmer & Smaller Profile

Personally if I was you I would opt for Stock Android Mi A1 also I like its design better and that if you use Google services they are better implemented on a Stock Rom then a MIUI even though Global version of MIUI is better at that still it handles RAM and Push notifications differently still its a matter of personal perspective some prefer strict RAM management I would also suggest checking these phone's out in market prior to buying

Score 1 for game pass. I wouldn't pay full price for this at retail either.

Just downloaded my first legit digital PC game on GoG at a discount of $8: Two Point Hospital. The same team behind Theme Hospital Two Point Studios now part of Sega. And I am having more fun than most recent AAA games except of course BG3.

Still, I don't like either Sony or Microsoft as they are focusing more on corporate greed than delighting customers. PC gaming is best of gaming and worth every penny.

PC Gamer score of 58/100 for Hellblade 2??? Is it really worse than Gollum that was 64/100? Microsoft games can't even come close to high scores of Sony exclusives apparently.

About the Microsoft (and Sony) debate, I feel both have become too greedy and losing their minds over corporate greed. Personally, I will never buy any console next gen and switch to PC gaming where democracy reins.

did you try setting up Google Payments? For UBL you may have to get it enabled for internet transactions, Naya should work without it!
