Which university is best for computer science?

I agree to this to some extent..while it is true that if you want to learn something university doesn't really matter that much..but the culture, connections, opportunities, quality and polish that university provides is important - which comes from healthy competition and competent colleagues, friends and teachers
I must agree to someone's saying above, actually, you're the one who will be learning and unleashing yourself to software industry. What matters is what you learn. There are many graduates I know from FAST Uni too, waiting for an opportunity to come, while others are even enrolled within 6th semester into industry. However, teachers from any university will only teach you an specific outline comes from HEC. What you do to polish and being an beast in industry matters. 
I think NUST is right up there, if I am not wrong its also the first Pakistani university to rank among 500 top universities of the world. I know personal dedication is the key to anything but good grooming and guidance can help a lot and also save a ton of valuable time if one has the resources. One of my cousins graduated from NUST started of with 80k salary in pk as software engineer and now earns approx 12 to 15k dirhams in dubai, all this in a span of maybe 4 years since graduation. But yes the key is your own dedication. He used to work so hard that he was losing his hair at the age of 20 and now he reaps the rewards.
NUST is not on top in Computer Science, yes a good university but no where near Top in computer science. FAST isb Lahore and Khi campuses are the best you can get in Pakistan if you want to have a career in IT sector. and Ranking doesnt matter.
Dedication is one thing but university have a big hand in getting you on the right direction.
IT has nothing to do with Computer Science, they do belong to same general areas but not in literal sense, difficult to explain briefly. FAST and NUST both are good.
Though it's a good idea to get in touch with recent graduates or someone from Computing faculty to get to know what they actually teach you.
I have a Masters in Computer Science. In a nutshell, if you want to do graduation in Computer Science then you must be absolutely clear that you want to focus on problem solving skills and research the field. You can do programming jobs later or get into development process, but from the perspective of solving the problems using your theoretical knowledge. This is what separates it from Software Engineering, which is purely development and process oriented field.

Well by IT I means all sectors. And no one is debating about the fields here....
And no one cares except we few people about what is software engineering and what is computer science. I bet 80% of graduates doesn't even know the difference about these two things all they know is programming and that's it. Well half of them doesn't even know that.

What AlienX said plus If you have thought out your specialized field in advance, like Computer Graphics/Artificial Intelligence than try to find if there are experienced or hopefully Ph.d teachers of that field in the university you are trying to go. It helps a lot. You get to know a lot regarding your field and they can guide you further..

I just listed a viable option to help him choose the Uni, whether or not he does masters is not my concern lol. He asked for suggestions that's what he is getting.
And that's what I am doing here. Why are we getting this into all the complicated things. Just tell him which university is good that's it.
Why would he be Knowing about PhD teachers? In most of universities the PhD teachers doesn't teach bachelor students. Only few courses are taught by them.
They would have 4 years to decide what's good for them. Research, Management, Programming etc.
And I am not dreaming sire. I am stating the reality here. Yes having knowledge is good but spilling it everywhere huh better keep it for good times [emoji23]

That is what everybody is telling him. Telling which university is good or bad isn't going to be a clear cut answer
Again, read the replies carefully. I said "experienced or Ph.d teachers". And ofcourse they'd teach only 1 or 2 subjects what are you expecting from a Ph.d? That was the whole point lol, if they have someone who is experienced in your field that's a plus point to choose that university.

I'm entering my final year of CS in FAST LHR and I can tell u that this campus is just a shell of what it used to be in the past in terms of faculty and quality. Alot of incompetent teachers are teaching important basic courses like Computer Programming etc. The Uni still has a reputation though so that will help although who knows how long that will actually last.
All in all The Lahore campus has been on a decline ever since I started back in 2014 so I'm not entirely sure If I can actually recommend it on the basis of quality of education anymore.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.
