“It was great to see the positive response from our community to the Bayonetta PC launch last month, and we are pleased to be able to announce Vanquish, another of our highly requested back catalogue titles,” says John Clark, senior vice president of commercial publishing at Sega Europe. “There’s more to come from Sega in this space, so stay tuned for further announcements.”
According to Sega the game will run at 60 fps, but unlocking frame rate will boost it to 144 fps. Resolution is also unlocked up to 4K, with anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, SSAO lighting, and scalable texture and shadow quality.

This is great for PC peeps who missed out on the original console version. Akin to Bullet storm, this is a massively underrated gem. Must play if you are a fan of the genre.

Don't personally care for these two games, but just noticed the 25% discount for Bayo owners. Good to see SEGA realizing the tricks of the trade when it comes to PC gaming. Reasonable price point, solid ports, full Steam support and loyalty discounts will go a long way in garnering good will even if its for old games.

Vanquish was a fabulous game. A real fast-paced shooter with some amazing action sequences. Probably one of my top-five games that I played on the PS3. I remember wishing back then that it got a PC port because its visuals and frame-rate were held back due to console limitations.

Definitely getting this for the PC. Recommended for people looking for action third-person shooters.

Yup. Although I'm surprised it took Sega this long to release PC ports for some of their other high-profile games. I remember Valkyria Chronicles sold like mad when it released on Steam. And it was a fantastic port!

No doubt vanquish was a good game...but personally I dont love this trend of remastering old games or releasing a game on other platforms after such a long time. I would rather see companies investing in new IPs. I get that they dont because of the risk blah blah, but these resources could've been spent pushing the industry and experience forward, not capitalizing on old nostalgic stuff.

Certainly you are not the only one. I felt for quite some time that the game needed a next-gen or PC port with fully smooth framerate. Also agree with the rest of the comments. I don't have a good PC so I can't play it, but certainly a very good game indeed.

In fact, even though I was quite underwhelmed with framerate issues on Vanquish, a few years later I played Uncharted-3 and honestly felt somewhat underwhelmed (but I didn't really play it much or complete it so can't say much about it).

Alan wake 2 is yet to recover it's development costs. Due to no physical release and no steam launch.
You reap what you sow. This is what happens when you take away choice from consumers. Even with 88% split going to developers, they can't recoup costs. Meanwhile, Helldivers 2 is a massive hit for Sony thanks in big part to Steam.
