[h=1]Batman V Superman Rumor: Wonder Woman ‘Steals the Movie’[/h]

As the theatrical release of director Zach Snyder’s Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice looms ever closer, there has been more than a little pre-release enthusiasm to be enjoyed on the behalf of fans of the feature film franchise soon to comprise the DC Extended Universe, in addition to a few corporate owned sponsorships and premiere ticket sales endorsements to keep anticipation at a fever pitch. Ahead of the film’s release, fans of the original DC superheroes have been offered an exclusive glimpse at the film’s new costume designs, though it was Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman suit that most recently received the most attention.
Up to now, the exact nature and extent of Gadot’s Amazonian warrior’s role in Snyder’s new movie has been largely relegated to a subservient, supplementary nature to the film’s presumed titular showdown. However, a rumor from a talking heads panel broadcast on the Collider YouTube channel suggests that Gadot will hit the ground running, when he makes her big screen debut as Wonder Woman in Batman V Superman.

n the footage featured above starting at the 23:13 minute mark, show hosts Jon Schnepp and John Campea are joined by special guests Chris Gore and Robert Meyer Burnett to talk about several interrelated topics associated with the latest superhero movie news, including the role of Gadot as Wonder Woman in Batman V Superman. According to multiple rounds of eyewitness testimony provided by the esteemed panel, a number of unnamed viewers have seen Snyder’s new movie have consistently stated that Gadot “steals the movie” and her role is more substantial than trailers and TV spots for the film might lead you to believe.

If Schnepp and his cohosts are to be believed, then director Patty Jenkins’ standalone Wonder Woman movie, not to mention Snyder’s upcoming Justice League films, might prove to be as well rounded and exhaustively researched in terms of representing supporting DC Comics characters than previously intimated. Gadot certainly appears to fill out the Wonder Woman costume well enough, but if her performance as Diana Prince is truly capable of grabbing viewer attention away from the likes of Henry Cavill as Clark Kent and Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne, then moviegoers will be in for a real treat when Snyder’s Dawn of Justice sees theatrical release in a few weeks.
Until then, viewers will just have to bide their time, and perhaps pre-order tickets for what has been predicted to be a blockbuster hit expected to make between $100 and $140 million at the box office during opening weekend alone. And with any luck, Gadot’s turn as Wonder Woman will be far more substantial and awe inspiring than anything viewers have seen from the character on the big screen before.

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice opens on March 25th, 2016, followed by Suicide Squad on August 5th, 2016; Wonder Woman on June 23rd, 2017; Justice League Part One on November 17th, 2017; The Flash on March 16th, 2018; Aquaman on July 27th, 2018; Shazam on April 5th, 2019; Justice League Part Two on June 14th, 2019; Cyborg on April 3rd, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps. on June 19th, 2020.

[h=1]Jena Malone Cut From Batman V Superman’s Theatrical Release[/h]

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is shaping up to be a pretty busy movie. Not only does it boast a gladiator match between two of DC Comics’ most popular heroes, it will also introduce other members of the Justice League including Wonder Woman and (to a lesser extent) Aquaman, The Flash, and Cyborg. All this, of course, while also introducing Jesse Eisenberg’s version of Lex Luthor and another mutual enemy for the title characters, Doomsday.
With so much being packed in, it was unclear where exactly actress Jena Malone (who previously starred in Batman V Superman director Zack Snyder’s fantasy action film Sucker Punch) fit into the movie – or even who she would be playing. Rumors and speculation pointed towards Malone playing Barbara Gordon, who has taken on the secret identities of Batgirl and, later, Oracle in the comic books. Now, however, it looks like fans will have to wait for Batman V Superman‘s home release before they can meet Malone’s character.

Entertainment Weekly reports that Malone’s scenes have been cut from the theatrical release of Batman V Superman, but she will appear in the R-rated director’s cut that will be available on the Blu-ray release. This doesn’t, of course, mean that Malone’s scenes are especially R-rated (though it’s a possibility); the more likely explanation is that they were trimmed out in the process of cutting Batman V Superman‘s theatrical version to a weighty 151 minute running time, and keeping the focus on the titular characters and their conflict.

Since Batman V Superman is a comic book movie, the obvious point of comparison here is Rogue’s (Anna Paquin) scenes being cut from 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. Rogue was originally incorporated into the story as part of her own subplot, but writer Simon Kinberg explained that the scenes were cut because they “[did] not service the main story,” and he felt they lowered the stakes of the overall plot. Nonetheless, the “Rogue Cut” of Days of Future Past ended up becoming part of an effective post-release marketing campaign.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice‘s R-rated cut has been the subject of much discussion since its existence was revealed, particularly in the wake of Deadpool proving unequivocally that there’s a market for R-rated superhero movies. It may not be a good thing that so much attention is being brought to the movie’s home release before it has even made it into theaters; while there’s no doubt that Batman V Superman will turn a profit at the box office no matter what, the fact that theater audiences are aware they’re missing out on the “full” version can’t be conducive to pushing ticket sales as high as they can go.
It’s a shame that fans will have to wait a few more months to see Malone’s part in Batman V Superman, but if it makes for a more streamlined story then perhaps the decision to remove those scenes was for the best. And who knows, maybe soon Warner Bros. will be promoting the “Barbara Cut” of Batman V Superman.
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice opens on March 25, 2016, which is followed by Suicide Squad on August 5, 2016; Wonder Woman on June 23, 2017; Justice League Part One on November 17, 2017; The Flash on March 16, 2018; Aquaman on July 27, 2018; Shazam on April 5, 2019; Justice League Part Two on June 14, 2019; Cyborg on April 3, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps. on June 19, 2020.

Shit. :/

There's nothing wrong with Theater version being long. Even Dark knight rises was like 3 hours long movie.
it's actually more to do with the R rating and such and the scene mentioned would had been quite R etc if it was told AS IS. so i think it's better to remove instead of cropping etc for the audience in the first place. i just hope the censorboard here doesn't censor the crap outta the curses and sh8t like they just did with "london has fallen" i just saw in cinema :(

Zack Snyder Wanted Christian Bale in Batman V Superman as Different Character

Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is just around the corner, and most devotees have probably hedged their superhero bets already. Starting from Man of Steel’s DC ground zero, the film will bring a fresh if older Batman (Ben Affleck) to do battle with a relatively green (Kryptonite pun sort of intended) Superman (Henry Cavill). Even though the universe these two comic book titans battle in exists in a totally separate realm from Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy, the two DC universes do share a darker aesthetic.
Both Zack Snyder and Nolan eschewed the campier tones of previous outings like Joel Schumacher’s Batman and Robin (1997) or Richard Donner’s Superman: The Movie (1978). Apparently, the grimmer atmosphere wasn’t the only thing Snyder and Nolan’s films could have shared, though.
IGN revealed Snyder was interested in casting Christian Bale in Batman V Superman, but not as the Caped Crusader. Obviously, Bale’s Batman was retired after the end of Nolan’s trilogy, and the universes exist separately from one another, so Bale’s couldn’t have signed on to play the crime fighter in Batman V Superman. Snyder still says he would have been loved to have Bale in the film anyway:

“I just wanted to hire Christian to play another part to make that obvious. Christian could play, like, Alfred with age makeup. No! Of course not. But you know what I mean. Even people at the studio would say, ‘Who are you getting from the other movies?’ And I was like, ‘Hey, come on guys, let’s all understand, it’s a different world.'”

Although many fans of the Dark Knight Trilogy would have loved to see Batman fight the Man of Steel in Nolan’s grittier world, Snyder feels it probably couldn’t have worked. The relative realism of the Dark Knight series would have also made the eventual convergence of the Justice League more challenging as well. Snyder discusses Warner Bros/DC’s need to reboot:
“In the Batman universe that Chris Nolan created, Superman would have a hard time existing. That’s why we did a reboot on the universe, so we could allow these characters to exist together. We needed to do that to have Batman exist in this world.”
Although Bale didn’t wind up with a role in the Batman V Superman, his presence would have been a fun meta-nod between Warner Bros.’ distinct but equally interesting DC film universes – much like Deadpool’s reference to a Patrick Stewart- or James McAvoy-led X-Men. It would have been a neat wink to have Bale play a minor villain or a Superman booster railing against Batman. There’s still plenty of Justice League left, however, so it’s entirely possible Snyder or DC could work Bale into a small role yet.
In the long run, though, it’s probably best to avoid all references to alternate Batman universes. Bale’s presence could have been an unnecessary distraction from the real meat of the film, the colossal superhero beef that divides the world and then brings it back together. What role, if any, would you give Christian Bale in BVS?
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice opens on March 25th, 2016, followed by Suicide Squad on August 5th, 2016; Wonder Woman on June 23rd, 2017; Justice League Part One on November 17th, 2017; The Flash on March 16th, 2018; Aquaman on July 27th, 2018; Shazam on April 5th, 2019; Justice League Part Two on June 14th, 2019; Cyborg on April 3rd, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps. on June 19th, 2020.

[h=1]Batman V Superman: LexCorp Official Website Goes Live[/h]

Back in October, Warner Bros. launched a viral website for LexCorp, the mega corporation founded and controlled by business genius/criminal mastermind Lex Luthor. At that time, the site merely prompted visitors to enter their contact information in order to receive updates on the company’s enterprising Lex/OS project. Little was known at the time about what exactly Lex/OS was, or what role (if any) it was set to have in the story of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, but fan curiosity was piqued. With only a few short weeks left to go before the film’s debut in theaters, the LexCorp viral site has finally come fully online, providing more key information about the overall implications of Lex/OS.
Upon first visiting the LexCorp site, users are greeted with a suitably corporate looking login screen, presumably for employees. Normal folk can simply click on the button labeled “guest beta access” to proceed further. The next screen talks up Lex/OS, described as the “world’s first neural network based operating system.” The goal is to teach Lex/OS how to think like a human being, with the idea being to create an operating system with more complexity and security than a simple computer. LexCorp touts Lex/OS as the start of an “age of machines that will think for us, freeing up human brain power to tackle the world’s bigger questions.”

To anyone who has seen films like The Terminator, the Lex/OS mission statement should immediately send up red flags. Creating a sentient A.I. capable of making human level logistical decisions rarely works out well for any fictional universes it takes place in, with Skynet arguably being the go-to example for many. That said, one needn’t even venture outside of the superhero movie genre to find another instance of an advanced A.I. turning against humanity, as evidenced by the titular villain in Avengers: Age of Ultron. In the unscrupulous hands of Lex Luthor, Lex/OS is almost guaranteed to turn into something hazardous to the citizens of the DC universe.

Which makes it a tad amusing that those same citizens — in the form of the visitors to LexCorp’s website — can actively help along the development of Lex/OS by completing various puzzle games that are supposedly designed to teach the program how a human being thinks. Participants can unlock further challenges by completing tasks, and eventually increase their level of LexCorp security clearance. What (if anything) is revealed when one reaches the highest level of access remains to be seen.
It is already well known that Zack Snyder has opted to change the origin of DC villain Doomsday for Batman V Superman, so the natural question then becomes whether or not Lex/OS will eventually evolve into another DC character, such as Brainiac. While Brainiac’s canonical comic origins are that of an alien android, Snyder’s revamping of the Doomsday backstory sets a possible precedent for a rewrite of Brainiac’s arrival as well. Speculation has long abounded of Brainiac’s presence in the upcoming Justice League movie, and if that ends up being the case, it would make sense that the character’s origins be introduced via a subplot in Dawn of Justice. In the meantime, fans should feel free to keep beta testing Lex/OS. After all, what could possibly go wrong?
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice opens on March 25th, 2016, followed by Suicide Squad on August 5th, 2016; Wonder Woman on June 23rd, 2017; Justice League Part One on November 17th, 2017; The Flash on March 16th, 2018; Aquaman on July 27th, 2018; Shazam on April 5th, 2019; Justice League Part Two on June 14th, 2019; Cyborg on April 3rd, 2020; and Green Lantern Corps. on June 19th, 2020.

i personally wanted Bale to play Batman....
Same. Nolan's TDK trilogy was its own thing and not a part of any shared universe, so they had to go with a new actor. But I wish there was someway they could have gotten Bale to come play Bruce again.

On the plus side, from what I've seen so far of Ben Affleck, he seems to be doing a rather fine job as Bruce Wayne/Batman. Will just have to wait for the movie to see how good he really is.
