Why are pro players allowed to concede? They can call GG whenever they want and the game is over.
Because, all things aside, they're all on the same page. You don't see them saying 'gg noob team ff' in all chat when their mid or carry gets first blooded.

I would love a concede option, you can make certain rules on it. For example, if the Gold lead advantage has crossed 10k, or the exp advantage. If the scoreboard shows a 20-30 kill lead, If 4 players on the team agree to vote on a gg call, Has to be called past a certain time, 20 minutes.

When 4 out of 5 players are willing to concede, I guess that means the same thing.

There will be too much abuse no matter what if there's a concede option. Hard to implement keeping in mind the uncertainty factor, I've won a lot of games (that started very very badly) which I might have lost on any other day.

In HoN, they did it like this:

  1. A game could only be conceded after a certain time.
  2. 5/5 votes required in the first 30 minutes.
  3. 4/5 after 30 minutes
  4. 3/5 required after 50 minutes (if I'm not wrong)

Also, HoN has a 'remake' option where a game could be ended (no stats recorded) within the first few minutes if 10/10 players agreed.

These are really good features/options that SHOULD be available to all players of the game.

This. 9/10 bad early starts tend to turn into stomps, but that 1 game more than makes up for it (for me, anyway). I'd take those 9 games any day as long as I know that I'm gonna get my 1 uber comeback sooner or later. By implementing a concede feature, you'd be taking away that 1 game too, imo.

As good as these features sound, I dunno - it just won't feel like Dota, you know? Every game has its pros and cons, thats what gives each moba its own particular feeling. Maybe its just that after playing the game for 6-7 years, I've just come to accept it as a part of it.

Exactly, same for me.

The whole point of a concede option is the PLAYERS deciding whether to declare defeat or not, on a VOTE.

I'd love a concede option, but as striker said that even if certain conditions are set, they would be easily abused. I think that a concede option for 5 stacks is certainly viable, but it shouldn't get implemented in the solo/duo/tri que, otherwise we will probably see idiots feeding the enemy to get the whole team to concede.

5-man parties yes, I don't think I've any problem with that but 4+1 or 3+2 a big no no. What if those 4 in the party want to call gg for whatever reason? even if 5 votes are needed, what if they start feeding/or the many other things we associate with crazy russians/pinoys etc so that the 5th guy also calls gg?

^That's basically the main point, knowing the community, it WILL be abused.

The concede feature will simply change the mentality of the players, theres no doubt about that. You already see people going afk in the fountain on rare occasions, just imagine what would happen once a concede feature is implemented - that guy will basically force the other four to give up the game.

So basically.. its OK for one guy to keep 4 others hostage in a lost cause?
