Normally I don't like to call shots but if there's one game that made 2013 such a gifted year, it's hands down The Last of Us.

Probably one of the generation definers.

I've only played 2 games from the list. The Last of Us and GTA IV. :p

My vote goes to TLoU but that's the only game I've played from the nominees so take that as you may. Wouldn't mind if Bioshock: Infinite won also, heard great things about it (with the exception of gameplay). The only game that just doesn't seem GOTY worthy is GTA V, it might be a good game and all but it just doesn't fit the bill imo.

It will be a crime against humanity if The Last of Us doesn't win majority GOTY awards, even by a narrow margin. The gut feeling says that most of the critics will award the GOTY to The Last of Us except Spike TV VGX Awards ofcourse.

I simply love GTA V but The Last of Us is something out of this world.

The Last of Us wins GamesRadar's GoTY award

The Last of Us isn't simply the best game of 2013; it's the culmination of what games have been attempting to achieve throughout the entire 7th console generation. Exemplifying and improving upon everything that games have evolved into over the last eight years, it’s a masterpiece of mature, gameplay-driven narrative, stunningly well-realised world-building, and uncompromising but intelligent systemic game design.

The tension created by the fight-for-your-life gameplay works hand in hand with the edge-of-your-seat story, and while The Last of Us is often a stressful game to play, it's also an immensely rewarding one. The narrative constantly thrusts players into dire situations that perfectly illustrate the ugliness of a mankind warped by apocalyptic circumstances. The whole experience is uncomfortably dark, save for the touching bond that forms between Joel and Ellie, two of 2013's most profoundly believable characters. The final product is complete, cohesive, and affecting--it's the pinnacle of intelligent, powerful, artistically-minded gaming in the triple-A sphere. And for these reasons, The Last of Us is GamesRadar's Game of the Year for 2013.

Mario? not my type of
GTA5? played all GTA and all are overrated. no need to play 5
haha. You better run from this thread while there is still time, else you risk serious injury to your health. GTAV and TLOU and the two games that are going to win MAJOR game awards this year.

I personally don't like Bioshock either since FPS isn't my type. But still there is a population who loves these types of games so... I don't care anyway.

Phil should be held responsible for this shitfest too, just like Sarah, but it's highly likely that these decisions are coming from Satya. And this isn't even the end of it. More closures are coming.

if we are moving towards more and more popular trash across platforms that make billions for companies, I'm happy with all the barriers and exclusivity because at least that brings some pressure to create good stuff.

Started Dead Island 2, and i find it pretty lame. The story is shit. The characters are either cringe or bland (all 6 of them), The gameplay isn't fun. Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
