Okay, so, Nixor just accepted me as well. But I'm still leaning towards Lyceum.

I have 6 subjects - GP (Which I want to get replaced with English Language), Biology, Math (N), Chemistry, Physics. And I will be taking Computing later when the semester starts. Computing IS basically computer studies, right?
AbbY: You serious?! Teachers here tell me that the percentile system is no longer followed ._.

Don't worry about that, teachers love to troll us students. We have 'grade thresholds' in A Levels.

And on a side note, only go for Computing if you wanna pursue it later on, otherwise, with the subjects you're opting for, things are gonna be pretty, pretty tough as it is, specially seeing as you need to work extra hard in Math.

Yes, I definitely want to pursue Computers later.

Oh and is English Language hard? I've got GP right now, which is compulsory, unless I take Language. If it's too much work, I'd like to stay with GP. I think my English is good enough as it is, and I'll appear for IELTS next year, so I can give a proper exam then. Or is that wrong?

If you wanna get into some Computing field, then why all the science subjects? Specially Bio.

And yes, English Language is quite difficult compared to GP. You'll have to give IELTS or TOEFL either way if you plan to apply abroad.

They must be high.

The A, on a raw percentage, is roughly 70% raw marks. For GP, it's a funny 65% on average.

P.S: No point giving GP. Absolutely useless subject.

Waste of time and effort, in that, it's a zero credit subject because it's an AS subject. Furthermore, it's a General subject therefore absolutely no point. A or D, it doesn't matter and doesn't count.

You'd rather give IELTS and save yourself the trouble and time.

Computing is very easy. I didn't do it at O levels and I took it midway into my first year (more like 2/3rds into it) still coping well unlike Physics.

I wouldn't completely agree with that statement. Appearing the GP exam is useless, however GP classes can be quite helpful (if you have a good teacher, that is). I personally feel that like Math, one should regularly practice essay writing and keep on reading more material to improve his vocab. GP classes can at times end up in interesting debates and what not.

Could be, but my GP teacher kept ridiculing me and the system saying that I didn't deserve the grades I got :3

if I'm correct, Lyceum doesn't offer Computer Studies nor you need it if you wish to pursue further in the computer field.

Studies in nixor is a bit easier as compared to Lyceum due to percentile.

Take an example;

My friend at nixor got 32/79 in maths which is 40.5%, his grade was marked as a ' B ' due to percentile.

In my class in physics, despite half the class failing and only 2 people getting an ' A ' ( And both of the A's were at a borderline 80 ), we end up with D's, or F's, due to no percentile.

Southshore ajao. You can meet me there :p
Well it's my last year of A levels.
I would recommend you go for Lyceum instead of Nixor.
Btw have you decided which subjects you will be studying for A levels?
jalte raho tum nixor se bas :p
Xerolt9

i'm gonna recommend nixor.

points about nixor. good and bad:

1. i went there. i know nixor.
2. superb teachers. but beware it isn't necessary that you would get the teachers you want.(but for sciences all teachers were. atleast till i was there)
3. faltu ki baatein and stupid rules everywhere.
4. if you can ignore all the girls and chances to hang out and not study. then this is definitely the place for you.

the difference between nixor and lyceum for me is that nixor has slightly better teachers. and absolutely awesome social life.
on the other hand lyceum is kinda boring i think. but has a good reputation and has been at the top longer

Another V.imp point to note; Be prepared to stay very late in school, if you're a science student chances are that you will have a very tough schedule.

For me it's like;

Monday, 8-3
Tuesday 8-4
Wednesday 8-4
Thursday 8-3
Friday 8-12
Saturday 8:30-10:30

Yes, I have school on Saturday aswell, a lot of people do.

Okay, I've decided to drop Biology. After a lot of thought and discussion, I have decided to pursue Software Engineering, for which I will take Computing, Math and Thinking Skills. And since SAT II has the option of Physics and Chem, I shall take those too.

Why Thinking Skills? :s

Software Engineering requires good logic and thinking skills. Plus, i've heard that subject isn't really a burden, and is rather fun. So I might as well give it a shot. I can drop it later if it seems like too much work.

If I'm not wrong Thinking Skills isn't a credit subject right? Also Xerolt9, why not opt for small CS related courses instead? It will give you a better insight and will considerably help you in the future.

Come to fps its fairly a good school, i had to go to nixor cuz i only applied there but unfortunatly i was abroad and couldn't pay the fee and all and then i ended up at fps. Fps is both a party and study school and helps you in universties as well

1- Thinking skills, like GP, is an AS subject so useless unless you're applying to Oxford.
2- You need 3 A Levels and these are 2. (Computing and Math).
3- AFAIK, Physics is needed to pursue Engineering.
4- AFAIK, if you want to stay in Pakistan, Chemistry is needed alongside Physics and Math (surprisingly enough, these three over Computing) regardless of whatever type of Engineering you wish to pursue.
5- A Level Chem and Physics and SAT Physics and Chem is PRETTY tough unlike O Levels. If you think you'll be able to give the SATII's without the core A levels, suffice to say, you're mistaken. No point studying privately for these SATs alone if you don't have them at A Levels. Might as well opt for them and give their A levels.
6- Criteria uni's will defo require Math and Physics!

I've taken Physics, Chemistry, Math and GP.

GP is compulsory where I'm going. And Computing isn't being offered there. I've asked around and turns out Computing isn't a requirement at A levels if I want to pursue Software Engineering. So I guess I'm good to go?

Even the goddamn zombies don't behave like proper zombies. They're all fast & intelligent unlike how zombies are supposed to be like. Any fan of "zombie" genre cannot possibly like this shitfest of a game. Dying Light 2 was million times better than this shit.

tbh gaming industry as a whole is failing much like tech industry. They have buckled down too much to Corporate suites then relying on passionate and innovative people. A corporate only believes in financial growth and shareholders.
