whats the issue here lol, PG doesn't allow personal attacks towards anyone, not to mention duplicate ID's either .. honestly if you think he was just banned for posting "facts" you can look up his colorful post history and see how many things he's gotten away with.

XBOX 360 is pretty much owned, all it is selling is ridiculous amounts of CAll od Duty's and its DLCs. Its a console without any momentum or future except kinect. Get over it and try thinking about selling it soon.

That would be great and all provided it wasn't mostly incorrect, its still the console of choice for developers of most multiplatform titles, the biggest selling console exclusive of this year is Gears 3, multiplatform games 99% tend to both perform and sell better on the 360 not just COD, and the most important thing people aren't bringing up..

the 360 has not had a price drop in over around 2 years now i think, they just added kinect and repackaged their SKU's to make them even more expensive, the PS3 on the other hand has been dropping price left and right just so sony can sell some respectable amount of them ..

look up some things before making stupid claims people ..

Bottomline? PS3 has better exclusives than any other platform available but Xbox 360 remains my first choice for multiplatform games.

I never cared much about numbers, if this was about actual business models.

We should include the PS2, considering it was out stripping the XBOX360 early on.

I honestly don't know what MS is planning anymore, The Kinect isn't strong enough to carry them through.

The PS3's been doing considerably better in Europe and Japan for quite a while now. Even with a year's lead, the it's pretty much managed to catch up to the X360's overall global sales.

Q4's going to be significant for both consoles, so I don't see the X360 getting a significant edge there either.

The PS3 has always been priced higher than the 360, so there understandably a bigger price margin for Sony to work with, given that it's much cheaper to manufacture now. As for the more expensive Kinect SKU, Sony also sells a more expensive Move bundle. The fact remains that the cheapest PS3 SKU is still more expensive than the cheapest 360 SKU, and it's selling more consoles now.

but the fact also remains that the most expensive 360 SKU is also the one that sells more than any PS3 SKU, not the arcade one, as per this months gamasutra analysis which im sure you've seen on gaf

which means they're still selling more on a higher price point in the US and UK

you missed a few names there like Crysis 1, Rage, F1 2011 which favor the 360 and Arkham City which DF mercifully declared a tie even though only one console version has frame rate drops and noticeable screen tearing.

edit 2 ; the BF3 DF analysis is out and despite the game being primarily built around the SPE's it still managed to be a tie, no real advantage of focusing solely on developing on the PS3 first it seems despite the supposed power the cell provides ;p

dude one or 2 AAA titles cant do enough...by low quality exclusives i was referring to the kinect shit that is suppose to fill the huge gap between 360 and PS3 exclusive line-up and quite frankly that fails at failing,something MS just cant seem to understand.if the want to even exist in the next-gen console market,the MUST bring abt 10 or so AAA exclusives that are just as gud(or even better)than Geow or Halo.

e.g. L.A. Noire, on blu-ray is in uncompressed format, meaning high quality audio and shit...

It looked like this to me:

Sony always releases something far beyond its time...
PS3 is kind of proving to be an example of that...

Blu-ray with 50GB of space?
Huge leap from DVD-DL?
Cell processor and what not?

Now is the time that developers have finally realized that how much space and other things matter, and what I'm seeing is that muli-plats being released now are much better on PS3 than on 360...

Well the Kinect has been a hit with casual gamers so far hasn't it? Since that is the target audience and it's selling like hotcakes I can't say it's a failure but M$ has been neglecting the core gamer for quite a while now with, constantly spewing out Halo titles to try and fill the game, I love Halo but it's not good enough.

holy shit way to single out the one thing i replied to CT on lol, why not look at the last post i replied to you, sales, biggest exclusive games this year so far, lions share of multiplatform games, besides uncharted 3 there really is no other noteworthy exclusive the ps3 has in the final quarter/half of the year either, as opposed to Gears, Forza, Halo (yeah its the same three lol).

anyway, some of you guys choose to be ignorant towards certain things and call me a fanboy, is pretty funny at times

if they want their console to become Wii HD then yeah they can keep wasting their resources on Kinect stuff but sadly they will fail at that too coz Wii is also abt quality+quantity exclusives.kinect is nothing like it.MS has only one problem,they need to decide srsly if they want to keep core console gamers happy or the core PC gamers.if they are unsure between PC and console then they will lose both,which btw is happening slowly.

I don't, they both have their pro's and con's that can't really be utilized unless humongous amounts of time and resources are used, even then its fairly common to see games that are led on the 360 being subpar on the PS3, but games that are led on the PS3 usually are a precise match on both consoles, leading to the conclusion that the 360 can seemingly run code designed for the PS3 with ease, while the same isn't entirely true the other way around.

but shit, i guess what's common knowledge based on so many examples is still going to get me labeled as the only fanboy alive on PG

I think that decision should be obvious for MS, yet they continue to neglect the core gamers, I'm especially baffled by the way they're neglecting great games like Alan Wake which can become multi million unit selling franchises if given enough attention but no, it's all about sesame street and dance games from now on :/

lol the screen tearing always happens at the top-most area of the screen, and hence, isn't noticeable unless you're really looking for it. Plus, even after the hdmi 1.4 firmware update, the 360 version fails at matching the 3D IQ of that the PS3 version offers. I guess that's probably why the head-to-head was declared a tie.

- Better anti-aliasing on PS3 (MLAA > 360 FXAA)
- Banding issues with certain lighting on the X360

Not surprising, really, considering the fact that Frostbite 2.0 is first and foremost a multiplatform graphics engine.
