Well, I was thinking a few days ago and I had this idea about the PS3 scene in Pakistan. Being a loyal PS3 game owner, I have found the task of finding new games at cheap or affordable prices difficult, seeing the way the market has turned, it leaves a budgeted gamer in a very bad position. With CFW a distant hope, I cannot wait for the latest exclusives to come out as I watch, waiting in vain. I would like to propose that PG members create a membership-based PS3 game owners club to get rid of such problems. In some ways, this will mime the structure of the now-defunct PS3 game trade club. But with many exceptions:

  • Exclusives will be fast purchases as soon as they touch the local market.
  • Members are not expected to pay depending on the number of games they borrow at a time, but on a subscription/monthly basis.
  • Memberships will be divided into group levels to make sure that everyone has a fair chance to get what they pay for.
  • Promotional/extra DLC for every game will be added to a PSN account and will be useable by the current borrower of the game. (You must deactivate the account on your ps3 upon returning the game)
  • All users are free to play the games they borrow and may continue to do so for up to 14 days. If another member reserves the game, the game may be played for up to 7 days more before return to be played by the next member.
  • In the case of multiple takers for a game, it will be a case of first come, first serve or via lot in the case of a pre-ordered game.
  • Security deposits will apply for membership. Should a member wish to leave, the money can be refunded within 2-4 weeks of notice.
  • Group # 1 will be able to play the latest games in the first 2 weeks of release. After that, Group # 2 will be included in the accessibility pool, with Group # 3 following suit 2 weeks later.
  • Both Group 1 and 2 will be able to borrow 2 games at a time maximum (Incl. move titles). Group 3 will be restricted to one game only (non-move games). Tier 1 will also be provided the PS move kit when needed to play move games.
  • Accounts, balances, everything related to the finances of the group will be transparent and made available to all participating members.

  • The base for such operations will be Karachi, with other possible locations participating in such.
  • PSN games will also be made available to group 1 members as part of the arrangements.

_____________
The initial games list will be as follows (games will be purchased exclusively for the group on launch):
Assassin's Creed : Brotherhood
God of War 3
Grand Turismo 5
Resistance 3
Motor-storm : Pacific Rift
Dirt 3
Fallout : New Vegas
Red Dead Redemption
L.A. Noire
GTA 4
____________________
To join the group in the testing stage, please drop me a PM.
The current rates are:
499/- admission fee ( non-refundable)
Security deposit (will vary from member to member, with old, trusted members to pay no security deposit)
Group 1 = 1299/-
Group 2 = 799/-
Group 3 = 499/-
If you would like to make any suggestions about this let me know. I will be executing the above plan shortly.

Please note that I have made this thread to gauge the demand/acceptability for such an idea before going on with it. Please give me ideas, thoughts and suggestions about such an idea and how to improve/go about it if I am to put it into action. Your feedback is crucial.

Amaga is in Lahore and that would be helpful. I will contact him if this idea takes off with PG members here. Sevolution on the other hand is in Karachi, where I also am, so I don't know about that, but we will have a central location in KHI where such pick and drops can be done. Otherwise TCS @ 50 bucks per game within Karachi would not be much of an issue.

We could get reps. in Lahore and possibly RWP/ISL.Lets see how this rolls out. I also see some opposition by some retailers of such games as it would limit the amounts of their games sold.

Look yaar we few are the ones who are running stores the rest just come to the marketplace and sell 1 or 2 games max.pakgamers is a site to provide the best options of gaming to its members so according to me this service is good and will let everyone enjoy new games because not everyone can afford these games

This is a great idea but it seems a bit complex, if you can create a base of operation, where the members can come and get or return there said purchased game. It'll provide ppl with clarity that if some misfortune happens, they can go and talk to a living person to resolve it rather then just sending PMs back and forth with typos and misunderstood statements.

I see no problems in your Idea but if you want to do this then you have to make it professional, like, give each member cards or codes that state their membership and membership level. And make a separate section in the Market Place so members don't have to go back n forth to different retailer sections just to see if the game they wanted has arrived. Well that is all I can think of at the moment

Hmm. Thanks for the feedback. Your ideas seem pretty good man. A base of operation in KHI and a similar one in other cities and a separate section/subsection that is visible to members only + an advertisement in the marketplace would fix that would it not? I think I have a very good person in KHI to handle that particularly :)

I actually made this thread separately for a reason: To avoid annoying you or any other moderator by discussing the same in any other PS3 related thread. Being a discussion forum, discussions are kind of unavoidable on any topic. If you feel that the thread is irrelevant, you can move it to the chit-chat section where we can discuss it. Most of PG's members visit there also, so it should not be much of an issue.

I have nothing against sensible posts. But both of you, especially ashhad has a habit of spamming the forums by making stupid posts that are totally unnecessary.

Try making one big post instead of posting helpless one liners.

But you're right, this should be moved to Chit-chat.

Moving...

Idea seems good...

Good for students and or people who can't pay too much for a game but also can't wait to play it as soon as it gets released...

Like TrueCoolGuy said, every participating member should have their exclusive cards or codes....

By suggestion would be that you first kick off this service in Karachi, see the response and then expand...
Launching in parallel with different cities will cause a headache and worse trust issues first...

Since being in Karachi can get you to meet the members, like we can hold members meet to discuss about this club have fun together etc...
We can then organize Karachi meet-ups together too

I am in favor of this idea and will particularly be in Tier 1...

And I know a friend of mine will also be in favor of this idea too, as we both do the cash in for a single game thing....

I can also help to manage the club...

Plus the senior members of PG (not by age, but my rep/TS) should first pitch in to make this idea come to life and the membership should first be open to them, then slowly and carefully letting the others pitch in...

but then again, how is the tier system gonna solve "it leaves a budgeted gamer in a very bad position."??
It allows you to play most of the games you want @ a very small price. Lets face it. for roughly 9k a year you could play an easy 30+ titles. Also this would be broken down into smaller payments of 750 for the very 'budgeted gamer'. Much cheaper than even trading old titles at your local game shop.
