Also known as error C-82E10193 when you try to sign into PSN with your phone.
This error is a pain in the ass. It essentially prevents you from accessing PSN.
If you check online it means PSN has blacklisted your IP because of:
1) shared network
2) malicious activity in cheating
3) malicious activity in hacking/virus
Mine was simply from getting a new router. Now I've asked help on their twitter, forums and on reddit and the all say contact your ISP.
So I contacted Stormfibre and before I even mentioned PS4, they knew exactly what I was going to ask (as if they were tracking me) and said to fix it, I need to buy a Static IP and also admitted that may not fix the issue.
So I called Sony next, asked them to fix it. They made me go on Access Denied and found that my access was indeed, denied. This was because of my ISP and nothing directly from Playstation's side.
Called up Stormfibre once again. They said that it is definitly Sony and they cannot ban my ip without tampering with my internet and my internet everywhere else is working. Also, what was their motive? I told them their motive could be easily you blocking my psn and then me paying money to access it. You block it, I pay you access. You benefit. That is clear motive. You clearly want me to buy a static IP.
They said, that would be illegal and wouldn't do anything of the sort and they are a law-abiding agency. They only give you one IP and that is unchangable and getting a Static IP is a seperate charge and service which he cannot give for free to long-term customers.
Called up Sony again (they have Last of Us music in waiting, so its not bad). They said they never directly ban IPs ever and send a report of the situation to your respective ISPs by email. With that, they can have access to ban your PSN if there is any compromise since they'd know better.
(This means Stormfibre did have the resources to block my PSN which they denied). However, when I asked that they send me the email they sent to my ISP or of any report the guy wasn't able to track it down. So honestly, don't know what to believe.
They said also all they needed to do was switch from one IP to another. They didn't need to reset, give you a static IP or anything. They should have around 200-250 IPs per person they can easily swap out, but he can't speak for every agency and their actions or the legality of what Stormfibre is doing.
Now, I'm at a loss. I definitely do not want to pay Stormfibre because this totally smells like a sham, however, I cannot access my PSN and I just paid for it so thats plenty of money gone anyway.
Now that you've read all this, what do you think? Who is more honest here, Sony or Stormfibre? What are my alternatives? Are there any other solutions?
I understand others have already had this issue and maybe it has been resolved by paying your ISP, but what I'm asking is, did you even have to? Was it even legal for them to do so?
Note: I have gone into my router settings, went to default, went on safe mode on my ps4, tried different wifis around my house. I can't access my WAN settings because Stormfibre greys them out (called and asked to make them undo that. They said they did but clearly did not). So I'm out of ideas on how to fix this myself.
