Deso's Top 5 WOW ADD-ONS
Its been 6 months since I've been playing WOW and each day there is something new to learn something new about it. Now I'm at a stage where I can safely say that I know more about wow than an average player. Blizzard did a fantastic job at developing this game but there is always room for improvement. I will be talking about some of the add-ons that I've been using and how they can make your game experience even more memorable, more enjoyable and user friendly. I tried on building a list that is suitable to everyone including beginners and pros. Though there are many add-ons available on the internet I have shortlisted the best I’ve found so far.
Dr. Damage
Are you tired of calculating absolute damage of your spell? Do you want to see the damage in the interface and that it should be dynamic? The answer lies with Dr. Damage. This sweet add-on not only shows the damage of the spell or ability but also the coefficient calculation. It also shows the range of your damage including the max critical damage that can be done. That is not all, the add-on is dynamic in nature. E.g. if a mage activates Arcane Power then the increased damage is also shown on the interface. This add-on is a pure treat for RDPS including mages and warlocks but other classes can make full use of it as well.
You can see the number representing the actual damage or heal of the spell
You can view the detail information of each spell
Gatherer
<1:General><SurpriselolxD>Can anyone tell me where I can find Mithril Ore?
*Waiting for 15min*
<1:General>< SurpriselolxD >Isnt there anyone who knows the exact location?
Why remember the locations of mines, herbs, etc when you have an add-on like Gatherer. This add-on marks the location of the minerals and herb when they are picked up. This allows the character to remember where he got that item. The add-on also shows the percentage of the drops and its thumbnail on the mini-map. I personally found it quite useful for mining in Hellfire Peninsula because most of the time the ores are already consumed by other players and it is very difficult to find the original locations. This add-on will help you remember the locations and know where you have to wait for your precious ores.
Damage Meters
<Raid><FireStarter> OMG I’m doing damage like crazy with my fireballs over here.
<Raid><Magmas> Is 1200 average damage really that good?
<Raid><Lordmaximus>LOL
<Raid><Striker>LMAO the liar just got owned.
*FireStarer has left the raid group*
This add-on is quite famous in raids since they allow characters see the top 10(or more) damage dealers for a group. This add-on not only displays damage but healing meter as well. The interface is quite good as well and It makes reporting a breeze, you just need to right click on the application and click report to raid, group, etc. Damage Meters is a must for all DPS characters if they want to brag about how good they are doing in a raid.
Atlas
Map of an instance and markings for different bosses
I was having second thoughts about dropping this one off. Each and everyone one of us would pick a particular leveling area. It might be because the quests line are better in a particular area but in most cases it because a person knows what to do in the quests that are available in the area. You may want to try Kalimdor for leveling up but you drop the idea because the time taken to find out the requirements for each quests to too time much. That is where this add-on comes in. This add-on will help you level up even faster by telling you what to do in a quest. It does this by marking locations of target enemies, locations of mobs that drop the specific item or even the shortest path to your quest. This add-on is a dream come true to players who don't want to waste must time in figuring out the quest.
