WoW ( Classic ) question

i found classic wow a long time ago in my closet and after failing to sell it on online sites ( local forum ) i decided to give it a shot i wanna know a few things before i go online with this game

what patch version will i need to play on the servers and will i need the expansion packs first to play this game or not ? blizzard support is useless to help me with my question

P.P.S i have the US region of the game i wanna know if its better then GB ping wise and player wise and if i do decide to play the game which side is better population wise horde or alliance ( i love the horde <3 )

yar once you install the game it will download the patches itself and trust me it will take some time as there are a few patches...and you dont need to install any expansions untill you hit 60 then u need The Burning Crusade and than at 70 you need Wrath of the Lich King.

I have no idea if the EU realms better or US..personally i play on US.

p.s. if you want EU version of Wrath of the Lich King (brand NEW) msg me as I have it but I play on US realm so its of no use to me. Oh and if you decide to join US realms..join Eonar (thts where ull find me 'Allies')

Well you'll need the 3.2 Patch. Regardless of what expansion you have you need to be up to date with what's online.
Anyhoo, it's better that you download the client from:
http://www.wowwiki.com/Patch_mirrors

Scroll down to the "Playable Clients" section and download the first one 7.3 Gig one. Install it and log on with a fake username and password. It'll start downloading the patched automatically.

As for Realms me and Des play on Blood Furnace (US) Medium Population, Horde Dominant. High Pop servers have Mad Lag so don't go there. EU is better for Ping but JOIN US!

I have played on both and can say that EU are far better ping wise. i get around 250 to 400 but never more than 550 even in pvp and raids. Eu also suits us timing wise cause the difference is of about 3 to 4 hours and u can easily find groups and have fun with ur guild mates. On US how ever the time difference is huge and the ping/latency for me starts from 600.

And for the faction you can check out realms population on wow website, i like The Horde just because they are cooler and chances are a bit high to find mature players on this side.
