Windows 7 upgrade !(via manufacturer)

Well,I just ordered myself Windows 7 upgrade for my vaio laptop ,through Vaio Windows 7 upgrade .

Sony charged me a total of $15 (for windows )+ $25 for shipping (later came to know they will ship via DHL .hmm ) .



just wondering ,what do you guys think ?.I feel its a kind of rip off .

I know few manuafacturers
like Acer is actually giving free upgrade to customers living in US .

well 15$ iz cheap but 25 $ for shipping will make ppl nervous ...

any ways in cast u a total of 40$ .. check the official price 119$ and stusents can get in for 30$ ..

about being ripped of , if ur are feeling it that way , than sir u truly have been ripped of . i think it was a good purchase and that u should have considered 25$ for shipping from the start .. its 25$ that is making u feel like being ripped off ..

Its worth it. Shipping being more than the upgrade you paid for is definitely a rip off. But you're still getting the original thing cheaper than most people.

hehe ,yup Its werid that manufactures aren't even charing a cent in US ,but they charge for the people living ouside US .DHL is having a nice time ,as these manufacturer choose DHL to ship their produces .MS started all this by saying free upgrade to Windows ,which isn't free .

They could have shipped via some normal tracking post lol

I have also bought a Sony Vaio VGN-NW11S last month, I don't have to pay a penny for the windows 7 upgrade, all I need to do is take a receipt to a local store and will get a free copy of the windows 7 home premium for free or you can register your vaio at the sony site and can download a copy (but I am not sure about it).. Windows 7 will arrive here in UK on October 22.

yaar unfortunately i'v a dell inspiron but can't register my notebook as dell people are not giving upgrade in Pakistan region but fortunatley i'v found original windows 7 Del OEM uploaded at another site and have downloaded it so m gonna upgrade anyways

I bought mine in June .

I didn't find any Sony Pakistan website .

You can download it as well, but I am not sure about a laptop which has been bought from pakistan.

The one which has been recently bought and display = eligible for free Windows 7 upgrade at the time of buying...
