What a terrible way of choosing a career... If money is your only motive in life then there is only one line of work for you.... the local casino aka Karachi Stock Exchange. In this field you can become a millionaire overnight or a pauper in an hour. You think people like AKD, JS & Arif Habib were born as rich as they are now... not at all, they accumulated millions of dollars over the last 5-7 years (their methods are questionable) and in the process have ruined hundreds & thousands of lives. Stocks & shares are not for the faint hearted.
You need to choose a career that best fits your aptitude in life. You can't be a doctor when your heart n mind are set on engineering. Nobody wants a halfhearted worker in life. You need to specialize in a field that truly challenges your intellect. There are many rags to riches stories in life to inspire us but nobody reads the about the millions who failed. Money is everywhere in every field. From doctors, to bankers, to engineers, accountants, lawyers, architects, etc, etc. I will not debate over the religious beliefs of people here.... too each his own.
I started as a Personal Banker (PB) in 2004 at Union Bank Clifton Branch, earning 18000 per month. In 2005 I was still a PB but salary was increased to 21000. By June 2006 I became a Branch Manager (BM) with a monthly salary of 27000 + 5000 BM allowance = 32000. In April 2007 I was well rewarded for my work as my salary was increased to 55000 (thanks to my Regional Head). In December 2007 I left Standard Chartered (formerly Union Bank) and went to PICIC (NIB Bank) as Branch Manager / Vice President (Gizri Branch) at 105000. After 6 months I left NIB and started my own stock brokerage.... which I am operating currently. In a span of 4 years my salary jumped 6 times & I rose the ranks from a grade 2 offcer to a VP position. All because of hard work, ambition, determination, responsibilty. I had no help from anyone during this time, I applied for the jobs and got them on my own and worked my way up the ladder.... MERITOCRACY.
You seriously need to re-evaluate your priorities in life. While I was in America working in event management for Wyndham Anatole earning $4000 per month, my life was boring and lonely. I'd rather have less money but a great life which I can share with my family n friends. However you can always go abroad and make something of yourself but in time return to your country.
Another shortcut in life is giving your CSS examinations, scoring good grades and landing a government job.... more money than you can imagine and all of it black as sin.
Be smart about it and choose wisely. Your career is one the most important decisons you will make. Do some research and see what opportunities are available in the market. What is in demand and what will be in the near future? Bankers are a dime a dozen nowadays. I remember hiring MBA's for field sales at 7000 per month + commissions.... sad. Whatever you choose, do not think of a career monetarily, that should not be your main priority. Choose a job with a resopectable employer that offers high rewards with substantial growth. Don't even worry about low starting salaries, everything comes with time as long as you work for it. Have faith in yourself and Allah and you will see that it is an unbeatable partnership. Be generous & kind to your co-workers & respective peers. If the company grows, you will grow with it.
Last but not least, there are no shortcuts in life and there is no such thing as easy money.
