Im having a hard time deciding what to do
i have a Xbox 360 Slim....NTSC...1175 Lite-On...i found out that the replacement drive will cost me around 9000(im nt willing to spend this much just for the playing offline)......what's so special about the drive and how is it different from the LT 3.0 mod?..... i am thinking of selling this xbox and buying a used PHAT one....what should i do?....any suggestions?

dude just get it jtagged and enjoy offline gaming, my xbox has the same drive and I got it jtagged. Now I play games through external hdd.

the thing is that its also an NTSC i.e. 110 volt and i want to avoid the whole voltage converter thing
how is the slim better than the phat? and how is the Replacement drive for the 1175 different from the LT 3.0 mod?

the voltage conversion process is not that big a deal. Slim is energy efficient and gives off less heat hence lower chances of breakdown. If you go for a fat used you never know how the previous owner treated it/repaired etc. Lite on 1175 were new drives released by MS in an attempt to stop piracy, they were hard to crack and they require a complete new pcb that replaces the old pcb of the drive hence the extra cost. Just get it jtagged believe it'll be alot better than LT 3 mod.

hmm valid point....how much does the jtag cost?...and can the jtag play games through dvds or only through external hdd?

Only through hdd, the drive will remain untouched it'll only play originals. Not sure about the price it varies.
