What ISP is good for my area? (I'm near Gulshan Town, Karachi)

Hello PakGamer community, I live in Gulistan-e-Johar, near Gulshan Town of Karachi (location on Google Map). Like many of you, I have problems with internet speed that hurt the online gaming experience. I get bad pings to EU and US servers that I want to play on and recently PTCL reduced my speed from 4 to 2 Mbps (which seems to further hurt my gaming) while I'm paying 2000 Rs for it.

So could you recommend a good internet provider, potentially fiber (I assume fiber is good for online gaming)?

If Zong 4G signals are strong and stable in your area go for it! I using it for gaming, League of Legends EU 150-170ms, World of Tanks EU 150-170ms CS Go also work fine. im not from Gulshan!!

Is Zong 4G wireless, which slows speeds?

its wireless indeed! but it really works! In my area the signals are not ideal! but still the ping is as i said 150-170ms EU server. If the signals quality is good in your area you can try it! i never thought i would hit 1.5Mbps on a wireless in PK

All the above except Connect are using Fiber to the Home Technology. Get in touch with them and see if they're operating in your area.

Don't go for Wireless internet if you're into gaming. Unreliable signals and the inability to forward ports etc will give you a crap experience.

Ah, I was thinking of getting Qubee Supreme Max (4 Mbps) as it's available in my area. But alas, they're service is wireless (and also non-fiber, I think). I'm going to have to try my luck with other ISPs, but I'm worried all of them will only offer in areas near the sea (Clifton, DHA etc.)
Also, why did you gave Connect's number if they don't offer fibre to home?

Edit: Can you tell me about Fariyya Network, Ebone Network and Satcomm? Stumbled upon them on the internet...

I mentioned that Connect wasn't fiber to home, but they operate using Ethernet or something like that. Either way, people are satisfied with their service and it's miles better than PTCL.

Not entirely sure about Fariya and others, but I don't think they're full Fiber, probably HFC like Worldcall.

I tried calling Wateen, but I just get a recorded voice telling me to press numbers and it's hard to understand what is being said.

Can you tell me whether to try my luck with Connect or Fariya and Ebone first? and are Fariya, Ebone (whose address is pretty close) better than PTCL?

Don't know about Fariya or Ebone.

Try connect. Most users who have them are satisfied. They're better than PTCL, I can tell you that.

Then I came to know that someone in my flat has Connect, so they are available in my area.
So (hopefully) last question, should I get 2MB or 4MB? My dad is urging me to get the former as it's cheaper but I fear that 2MB will mean higher pings and more buffering when playing videos, is there any truth to that?

Get the 4Mb one if there isn't much difference between the amount you'll pay. I had Connect a long time back and I was pretty satisfied with them. Also, there wont be a difference in ping unless there's a different backbone for each of these connection speeds, which I doubt.

Video streaming will suck on 2Mbps.

Pings aren't the same. I get 17-20ms ping whilst playing on UAE Servers and about 80-100 when playing on Asian servers. Or your typical 140-150ms on European servers.

@OP You should go for Connect for gaming atleast. 'Eyes closed'
